The host was wonderful, and we had some lovely conversations. Breakfast was quite good, and served on my schedule, which I appreciated. They were also able to help meet some needs that I had around laundry, which I really appreciated.
If you're going to see the Basilica, you really can't get much closer. It's right across the street. You're effectively in the heart of downtown. That does mean you're in a fairly noisy part of town. It did quiet down into the evening, but it starts again with the arrival of some trains bright and early. Ear plugs helped. Would recommend bringing them along with you!

Breakfast was delicious, the location is centric -right in the middle of town-, we literally walked everywhere and had access to buses/taxis/ubers/restaurants which I found super convenient if you do not have a rental car. The owner was extremely nice and helpful with all our questions and needs, I will be back! Cartago is beautiful and the house is such a Costa Rican style house - we loved the cultural immersion of it all! The Basilica is 30 seconds walking distance and the the volcano is amazing it's a must do when you are so close!

Clean and tidy. the staff were very friendly even though we had a language barrier. The room was pleasant but basic and the b&b is right next the cathedral so it's in a good location. We used the stay to visit the near by volcano which is about a 40 min drive away.
Nothing really bad to say as it was good for the money.

Parking a little complicated (across the street, and the neighbor has to open the door) . Located directly next to a rail crossing with a very noisy alarm signal (at first I thought it was the firearm :-)
