Hotel Boutique Castillo Ines Maria

The Castillo is as described in booking.com and by others. I wanted to comment on the especial kindness and care given by Ines Maria to me and others that I witnessed. I was very ill from the stomach upsets that were going around the city and San Andres. Ines Maria spoke to her doctor on my behalf and arranged for the pharmacy to give me the medication necessary to help me recover. I spent a day and a half in bed so I had plenty of opportunity to enjoy the wall paintings in our suite with balcony. Ines’ care has helped me enjoy our remaining weeks in Colombia. Ines Maria is bilingual and I overheard her making very special arrangements for another guest to surprise and delight his wife on her birthday. This is the kind of care that is very rare in the world.

While almost all of the staff were kind and attentive, I had difficulty communicating with the front desk person. At 8:30 a.m. I requested her to please have my sheets replaced but each hour or so I was told it would happen later. It didn’t happen until after 12:30 when I resorted to use Google Translate to explain that this could not wait until the end of the day when all the other chores were done. I really needed sleep. The housekeeper came quickly after that and did a lovely job so I slept the rest of the day and night.

This place was perfect for us as a base to explore Cartagena . We stayed at this hotel as a family. We really loved the breakfast which was served fresh and with different variations every day. The location was perfect just outside the old town. We could easily walk to restaurants and museums, and the beach.The best part was the people working there. They were all super helpful and friendly and we felt like home they helped us arrange what we needed. We could get a good sleep here only with a little noise from the nearby, karaoke, pub, but they stopped quite early😄 we recommend this small, cozy hotel in Cartagena! the building itself gives us sense of faded glory, but that only adds to the charm

Just small issues about the tiles on the floor outdoors getting dirty really quickly and the outdoor furniture was dusty, but we understood why after staying there a couple of days because the sand was coming in.

The location is 10/10. Located right outside the centro histórico walls, right down the street from the Serrezuela Mall. Even more important for me, it’s located right the street from Marsol, the best mode of transport between Cartagena-Barranquilla-Santa Marta. The hotel is great, my room was huge and everything worked really well. AC excellent, wifi excellent, hot water excellent, clean, nice bed. Great price as well compared to other expensive hotels in Cartagena. One of my favorite hotels. 10/10

The breakfast isn’t the greatest, but it’s a small boutique hotel so you’re not gonna get a big buffet. Still very good thought. Nothing else was lacking.

The breakfasts were excellent and the main dish changed on a daily basis so there was a good variety. Coffee and juice were readily available and the area laid out to eat breakfast was just outside on the patio with the option of eating inside if the weather was bad , all in all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at hotel boutique the room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and lots of extras like a fridge, WiFi, separate private balcony which we made use of each night also the staff were very attentive and the service was outstanding. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again and look forward to returning in the near future.

The staff was amazing and was the best part of the stay, all of them!. They were attentive to details and always willing to give an extra effort for their guests. The room and indoor areas were very clean. The breakfast was good, and the view from the top balcony was incredible. The common areas in the hotel was very charming and the pool was refreshing after a good walk in the walled city, which is only 10 minutes away on foot.

The room (habitacion Brisa) was not as dark at night as we are used to, and there was music playing from a nearby establishment on weekend evenings that was audible from our room. However, both issues were manageable for us. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful building with friendly/helpful receptionists! It's just a short walk from the old city, and an even shorter walk from the Transportes Marsol bus station (which we took to Santa Marta). The house is beautifully decorated and has a cute courtyard with a swimming pool. Breakfast is quite nice. There's tea & coffee available 24/7 (and a receptionist is there 24/7 too). Overall, a lovely stay!

Hotel Boutique Castillo Ines Maria was perfect for us. It has a great staff , I would thank each one individually, but the only name I remember is Miguel, but the entire staff was very friendly and quite helpful. A wonderful breakfast every morning with great service and that classic Colombian coffee. It is about a block from the beach and less than a ten minute walk from the Old Walled City. I really appreciate the people working there for tolerating my American Spanish in using a Mexican vocabulary spoken with a southern US accent. They were very patient with me.

I can find not fault with anything. I have been to 27 countries now and this was one of my top five hotels. Everyone tried very hard to help us and seemed very happy doing it,

All the staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful and welcoming. Location for us was great, out of the main busy area but close enough to be in the centre with a very safe 5 min walk or Uber / taxi always available. We stayed 7 days and breakfast was different every day and traditional so was nice to try local food cooked by local people fresh. Great Wi Fi, TV and nice big fridge. All the staff helped when we need things like wine glass, cork screws knife etc so we could enjoy our own food and drink on our balcony. Lovely place to stay.

A little tired in places but it is an old building so just a bit of paint and maintenance it would be perfect. Still very nice place.

Beautiful stay in a beautiful building. Comfortable bed, warm shower and the kindest staff. We enjoyed the pool in the afternoons. Our room was cozy and spacious and had a beautiful view from the shower. Location perfect, just outside the old city but very walkable. Generous breakfast provided each morning, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone!

Just outside of the old city walls, this beautiful villa was at the perfect location. Not too busy, safe, food vendors and a calm beach basically on your doorstep - and you're in the very city centre within 10 minutes walking. The patio was a perfect place to chill out at the end of the day, with a gorgeous sea view. Breakfasts were extensive and lovely, the air-conditioning worked perfectly and all staff were exceedingly friendly. Thank you for a lovely stay!
