Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Central

I stayed in a room with a king size bed, very spacious, stylish and comfortable. The staff are very professional and helpful, the restaurant was fine. I was only there 2 days but enjoyed it's ambience. There are some food places and coffee shops nearby and a supermarket. If shopping is your thing you should visit Nanjing Rd which has malls, designer shops, food places, I guess it's Shanghai's Oxford street [London].

Nothing. If you are planning to go to The Bund to see the skyline, take a taxi as it's a long walk and obviously very confusing for a westerner. It's at the end of Nanjing Road. I don't mind getting lost in a strange place though lol. The taxi from Pudong Airport is an hour's journey as Shanghai is a megatropolis.

Love this hotel, so clean, comfortable and rooms were spacious. We asked for two adjoining rooms so that we could be close to the kids yet they have their own space too. Shower facilities were great - the twin room had a big standing shower space while the king bedroom had the rainshower. Daily housekeeping was excellent and most thoughtful. We bumped into the friendly housekeeper one day and asked for more bottled water, and she took the initiative and provided us with sufficient bottled water in the next few days. Location was perfect as it is just 15-20 mins away by car from any major attraction. Easy to get to anywhere by Didi (like Grabcar) and never had difficulty getting a ride. Hotel breakfast was good too, widespread variety to cater to adults/ kids.

The rooms were clean, the bed is very comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very kind and helpful in general. The hotel is like 2 minutes walk from a metro station, so all important parts of the city are easily accessible.

The windows cannot be opened so the air must be constantly circulated through AC. Sometimes I smelled cigarette smoke in my room and the air did not smell good in general. (The hotel is a non-smoking one but still.) One day at breakfast one of the staff members embarrassed me by calling after me out loud that I did not pay for my breakfast - well after I checked in with my card for breakfast and I was sitting there with a plate of food. Of course my room was with breakfast, but the apology was not so loud as calling me out in front of others. This was extremely unpolite and should not be allowed - why didn’t they check my card and room number thoroughly when I checked in for breakfast?!

I was staying for 7 nights during a business trip. The location is strategic, either for touristic activities, as well for business. Near to underground and old railway Shanghai Station. The staff is friendly and helpful. The stay was fine. I would book a stay again. Price performance ratio was fine for Shanghai Jing´an. Taste and quality of the breakfast buffet was nice! Internet connection also ok.

- absolute overpriced cleaning service. (5 shirts, 6 pair of socks, 2 t-shirt and 5 underpants - more than 100 USD). Better buy new clothes with this conditions.... - english skills of staff might need to improve a bit, especially in the restaurant (check in and concierge fine) - waterpressure in the shower too low (11th floor) shower room might need to be pimped up (grout / tiles) getting black... - variety for breakfast for western food avarage I would say, if you stay longer, only so so. For a short stay ok.

The ¥98 breakfast promotion was fantastic. The fresh omelet was delicious, and the variety of food offered satisfied my appetite. The staff was courteous and helpful from the front desk, to the bar, to the restaurant, to the cleaning staff. The rooms were very well kept, it’s always nice to walk into a professionally clean room.

The things I didn’t like are more preferences, and them not being present will not discourage me from staying at the hotel. With that said, it would have been nice to have some variety of English programming on TV. Also, it would have been nice for some kind of spa facility on site, as I needed to relax and recover from a long day of intense activity. Again, these were just my preferences.

One of the biggest and cleanest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed!!! So comfortable!! Didn’t even feel like leaving the room!!! Don’t know why it’s stated as a 4 stars hotel. It’s definitely a 5 stars. Staff speaks very good English and they are so helpful and friendly.

Although it has some restaurants around, it still takes a bit of time to reach to the main points in Shanghai. But to be honest, not a big issue.

the person at the entrance was really rude! I asked question about where to pick up a delivery and he was impatiently pointing to somewhere I was not sure of. the attitude is very arrogant. the check in is a bit of pain as they needed to manually input all our passport details. An electrical system needs to be introduced.

The room was super spacious, with a large bed, sofa, and desk. Breakfast was great, and lots of options. The location was terrific, with many places around, such as manner coffee and other brunch spots within a 1-minute walk. The staff were super helpful as we checked in at 1 am, but they could still help us with a smile! I would stay again!

This hotel is located in the downtown, close to subway and not far from Shanghai Railway Station The staff was kind and polite, and they speak English so you don't have any communication problems as a foreigner in China The room was nice, spacious and clean, with warm lights and comfy bed The hotel practices some "Go green" services (such as shampoo, body wash and conditioner bottles instead of one time use mini bottles) and that's yet doesn't bring any inconveniences during the stay.

The hotel is wonderful. Clean & big rooms. Delicious and varied breakfast. Polite & english speaking staff. Nice swimming pool, not so big, but it’s great for children. Nice district, not far from the center & the same time quite & spacious. The taxi to the main sight-city places was cheap & comfortable to get. Many good restaurants & coffe cafes around. It was my child birthday & the staff gave a present - very nice little cake - it was so cute ! Thank you !
