It’s a nice hotel, good location good facilities. The theaters, restaurants and the main streets are pretty walkable.

I don’t like the receptionist who helped me checked-in, seemingly she would be nicer to non-Chinese guests. She was very impatient to my questions while the other receptionist gave very detailed instructions to a Taiwanese(could be Singaporean) guest. I didn’t feel respected since I’m Chinese and I wasn’t treated as what I expected. The other thing I wanna mention is the shower didn’t have constant hot water.

This is a beautiful luxe 4-star hotel I have dreamed of staying in for years, and with the US Dollar value at 7 to 1, a rare high value for us, it was only $93 a night! The service is great, the place is palatial with lovely deep posh wooden hallways, the room ample with all curving windows overlooking the city and I got the high floor I requested long ago. The location is amazing, right at the top end of the famous shopping street Nanjing East Road. It's about 10 block walk to the Bund or waterfront, called WaiTan in Chinese ("Why Tang"). It is also one block from the gorgeous Shanghai Book City (Xinhua Book Store) which has Western cafes if you want your eggs or waffles. Check out the Roosevelt Sky Bar, 27 Zhongshan Rd (waterfront), which opens at 2 pm for a city view, and don't miss the nightly light show on the waterfront. Amazing. The bed and pillows were OUT OF THIS WORLD comfortable. I never wanted to go home!

The only drawback was that due to the walls being entirely windows, in winter the heater at its max was a bit cool inside. We opened the windows during the day, which is a mistake if the night will be cold because you do not retain all that heat.

- amazing location with only 10 minutes walking distance to the famous "Bar Rouge" (now called: KEV) - clean and spacious rooms, good views given the rather cheap price for the hotel - lively neighborhood with many useful shops (printing shop, telecom shop, etc.) closeby - watch out the taxi driver does not accidentially bring you to the GRAND Central Hotel Shanghai, many taxi drivers mix these two hotels up, but they are right next to each other so no problem

- the hotel requires you to pay RMB 60 if you lose a room key - everything else was perfectly fine

The hotel is nice and the location very good: it is 50m from the crowded Nanjing Road, so extremely downtown but not in the middle of noise. The room was very clean and spacious, the breakfast rich (both Chinese choices or international ones) and the staff extremely caring and available.

Despite my experience was good enough, I have found several little things I did not like at all. First of all, the fitness center is not so equipped, and the AC inside was insanely cold for training. The swimming pool is not inside the Central hotel but part of the Grand Central Hotel, so if you want to go there, you have to exit the building and enter the other one. It is for free and you are allowed to go there, but still, I would have preferred to know it before the reservation since it is a bit annoying crossing the streets wet.. maybe it is specified, but not so clearly at the end! The building is in general a bit “démodé”, in terms of design, and the plugs in the room didn’t work (in my case only 2) especially at the desk and near the bed.

Great location with Lawson and 7-11 nearby, around 10 mins walk to the bund, and 5 mins walk to subway. The room is spacious and clean. The view from our room is great. Surrounding areas are safe with local restaurants along the street.

when we checked out, a hotel staff told us to pay for snack (provided in the room) which we didn't eat. He kept insist that we ate, I spent 10 mins to explain that we didn't because we know there'll be additional charge but he didn't believe.

Quite possibly the best hotel I've ever stayed in. I don't know what we liked more: the location (amazing), the breakfast, the staff, the hygene or the esthetics and the room itself. If we ever visit Shanghai again (which we've agreed to definitely do) I wouldn't waste my time searching for another hotel. 10/10

Perhaps they could've been more informative and welcoming in the messages before our stay began. I'm kind of used to hotels providing you with a welcome message, including the various tips and directions on how to reach the hotel using different means of transport, without you having to ask them for it. Instead, they just asked which time we would be checking in. So, no big deal, but it would've been nice to get a little extra information.

The room is gorgeous and spacious. Location is near metro and the famous Nanjing East shopping street. When weather permits, can walk to the Bund too. The gym was quite big too, with 2 working treadmills, elliptical machine and many weights and machines.

Air conditioning didnt work for one of our 2 rooms - toilet was extremely cold yet the room was warm (in wintertime November) and we had to open windows. Deposit of CNY2000 took a week to refund. Other hotels usually refund upon check out.

The receptionist and concierge are very professional. Parcels sent to us can be received immediately when we contact the lobby without asking. The location is considered a prime location. It is only a 5-minute walk from East Nanjing Rd Metro station.

The shower room could be cleaner. The walls still have a few black mold stains. Amenities and drinking water should be provided more for 2 persons a room. There were only a few issues with this property. Overall, it was great and wonderful.

Location is good and at city centre. Breakfast also good but I found the menu is almost same through out during my stay. At least for Indian tourists, you should include some more varieties in the breakfast. Also if possible you should include some Indian food varieties in your menu for Dining also.. so not only Indian but many other foreigners also will not go out searching for Indian restaurants. Even Chinese loves Indian food and I have seen in Indian restaurants many of them enjoying Indian food.

The location is totally superb, couldnt get more central. Located easy access to the metro and Nanjing shopping street and easy walk to Yu gardens, if you like to stretch your legs. My room was very clean and comfortable and bathroom was spacious with good hairdryer, iron and ironing board, fridge and safe included. All the staff were very helpful.

Nothing to complain about
