Zara Hotel

staff was very friendly and kind. the breakfast is very rich and good. the dinner it’s also very rich but the dessert didn’t have taste at all. the room is big and spacious, the bed is comfortable. location is good, 800m from the lift, they also have a bus that takes you to the lift every 30 min.

the water in the jacuzzi was kind of dirty ( maybe because in the weekend there are a lot of people ) the pool wasn’t that warm, but that may be just my personal opinion

Good breakfast, spacious rooms, nice exterior swimming pool, nice exterior kids pool.

Quite pricy dinner, awful (free) coffee for breakfast - you better order coffee for extra cost, but 3.50 Leva for it is way too much.

Location

The Food - especially for Dinner. There is a big issue that the dinner is not the same for every guest. One group can have Grilled Salmon Filet, the other Chicken steak….

We stayed for more than a week in the hotel and enjoyed it a lot! Receptionists are nice and were always ready to help with any questions. We have communicated in English with them easily. We had a one-bedroom hotel room, which is big and has a great view on the mountains and outside pool! The cleaning ladies were also friendly and provided everything needed. There are bathrobes in the room, wi-fi was good enough. We had half board with only breakfast and dinner. Breakfasts are pretty similar every day. The dinner was good and more different from day to day, there was a choice of several meats, something baked, a lot of vegetables and great watermelon. It's better to come there at the very beginning of dinner as it looks much better then. I would say that it was good enough for the price because restaurants in the city would cost more. Great inside pool, always available towels and changing rooms are there. The outside pool is a bit colder as it depends on the weather, but still it was pretty popular. A big plus is sun loungers and umbrellas on the grass. The location is good and there was enough space to park a car. We also walked from there a lot, be ready that to return from the center you will have to go up the hill. But it is easier while walking up Pirin street and then just crossing one of the bridges nearby. From time to time something became broken on the territory, but staff was fixing it in a while. The strange thing is that people change the temperature of the sauna on their own as it's not locked. It might be useful to have a proactive administrator/manager who would be controlling such things and just to close everything that people should not have access to. To sum up, the hotel has its pros and cons, probably it also depends on the room you choose. So if you do not expect more than described it is a good place for some rest.

The staff was very good and very helpful. The food was also tasty and there is a long time window for each time of the day (breakfast / lunch / dinner). The room was small and cozy - perfect for someone who just wants some rest. There's a small lobby bar that worked up until midnight, which was convenient for a late drink.

We were left with the impression that everything was included in the booking price. (SPA and Pool) But upon checking in, we were informed that those extras were not included and we had booked only a room for 2 and that's pretty much it. We had to pay an additional fee for breakfast service in order to include the usage of SPA and Pool (so we were informed at reception). It wasn't that much - it was pretty much 30 euro or something for both people for both days of our stay. Nevertheless, it can confuse some people as they can be left with the impression that they have the SPA Centre and Pool usage included in their booking price, which was not the case this time. Better have a note stating this in Booking.

Very good location, just 1km from the Gondola. The staff speaks Russian and English. Absolutely great value (maybe we were lucky given the absence of snow on the slopes). The room was cleaned daily with good look at details. Food was fresh and warm. I would like to exceptionally stand out a waitor by the name Yaroslav that showed exceptional love for his job, always helped us to find a good table to eat and was very helpful with extremely positive energy.. Out of all my says in 2022-2023 around the world, he was the best waitor.

I don't know why Booking has this property listed as ski door-to-door.. There is a shuttle sure to the Gondola but this is a misleading thing to say about this hotel. But I guess this is an issue on the side of Booking not the hotel.

The hotel was great, please ignore the bad reviews, I was especially impressed by the food, buffet style with lots of options and healthy food available. The rooms were big and comfy. Regular ski bus to and from the mountain.

The rooms were a bit dated and in need of some repairs but not a deal breaker. The pool and sauna facilities were good, especially when used in non peak times but could have been a little cleaner.

The rooms were clean. The breakfast was great The staff were professional, helpful and kind. The spa is very nice.

The hotel is quite far (around 900 meters) from the central area, which requires a lot of walking (but not too much). The shuttles to the gondola helped cover that distance for skiing, but it wasn't frequent enough (9:00 to 12:00 and then 15:00 to 17:00, nothing from 12:00 to 15:00 if you got tired early). The hotel was marked in Booking.com as a Ski-In hotel, that mark is misleading and was one of the factors taken into account when booking that hotel.

I did like absolutely everything, great value for money. I did request a mountain view from my balcony when made the booking and it was absolutely spectacular, pleasure to wake up in the morning and have a coffee. The ladies on the Reception were very professional and helpful. My apartment was spacious with everything you need and very clean.

There was nothing not to like. All was great.

Good value for money, clean, quiet and very nice staff, nice breakfast. + shuttle to take you to the gondola and bring you back. Pool and sauna also ok

A bit far from the center (15 min) in an area that looks like outskirts of a city with no pavement to walk on when you wanted to go to the supermarket or to the center, no lights in the evening. Don't recommend the gym, very small with just few equipments.
