Hotel Dolce La Hulpe Brussels

Very close to the Claris clinic. Good breakfast. Fantastic location being in the middle of a forest/domain, great walk and other (free or cheap) activities possible.

- Restaurant options too reduced and pricey (not good value for money) - Cleanliness very good except for bad (old) stains on sofa bed mattress. - Service a bit hectic: 1. Asked for room cleanup at a certain time which was not respected. 2. Booked room with sofa bed for 2 adults + child but sofa bed didn't have bedsheets (had to ask). - no facilities for young kids (like a playground which would be so easy and helpful to add)

Roadworks effected journey to location and autorouting on sat navs to hotel didn't take into account the roadworks, had to rely on a map, it was an old map of Europe, one from the dark ages and to be honest that also turned into a small nightmare with 2 screaming kids in the car. Not hotels fault, but just for others, be aware it's a bit out of the way especially with roadworks, so if you travel with kids pass them a sedative.

It was luxurious. Staff was kind and helpful, they spoke multiple languages. Swimming was nice. it was a great experience to wake up looking at a peaceful forest, really calms the mind. I loved the smells and some of the interior designs when walking through the hotel. The breakfast was good, also very beautiful place to sit.

swimming pool water was a little bit on the colder side, but was fine after actively swimming, just not if you want to relax. Something like a jacuzzi would have been great as well. Sauna a bit too hot for me personally, showers at the swimming pool were not possible to regulate. so temperatures were a bit of an issue in and around the swimming pool. So we did enjoy, but it could have been even better.

We would have loved to find a playground, play room in the premises and play corner in the restaurant for the little one. They ask to book a room with sofa if you want a cot, but if the kid needs a cot, the room with a sofa should not be mandatory. Long after covid they still limit spa use to 45 min, but that maybe makes sense at peak hours but not for example early in the morning when it could be less regulated. In case of huge road works would be nice if the hotel also informs google maps, on a Friday afternoon you lose 45 min in traffic because google maps is unaware of the works.

The hotel boasts a variety of appealing amenities, including well-appointed rooms, a delightful restaurant, a cozy bar, and a small wellness area. The hotel bar is graced with a creative and talented bartender who crafts unique and enticing cocktails.

However, the disappointment arises from the fact that despite the hotel's proclaimed standards, the room was not cleaned even once throughout the entire three-day stay, which unfortunately falls short of the expectations set by the establishment.

This is my second visit to Dolce and my family and I love the place. The setting, the facilities, the comfort...Dolce caters for all types of guests. The staff is also very helpful, especially, since we needed some assistance with our baby food.

Unfortunately, the evening buffet was disappointing. The starters and desserts were fine but the food offered as main plates was somewhat poor. The meats were overcooked, especially, the duck. The chicken wasn't very tasty, the pasta was ok but nothing special and the veg seemed like someone opened one of those big frozen bags from the supermarket and steamed the content. Furthermore, there were no tags indicating what the different food items were.

the staff was not on point. the restaurant waiter was rude to us. we paid lunch and received remarks like “looks like madam didn’t eat everything” and when we ask for a doggy bag I had to put my food in the Tupperware myself. I already got better served in a simpler restaurant than this one. also when we checked out, the staff was reluctant to reimburse the breakfast we didn’t have.

Overall look a bit tired - need for renovation here and there but nothing dramatic. (The carpet in our room was horrendous - but it’s a question of taste)

We liked the beds (even the sofa beds). The staff were friendly and professional. The area of the hotel is good for relaxation and exploration. The breakfast was good.

It wasn't the fault of the hotel but the road closures and construction really sucks. We have to do a lot of rerouting just to get around the area.

The staff is very friendly and professional. The facilities are taken care of. We tried the spa, the pool and wellness, the restaurant (the summer bbq in the evening was delicious!). Everything was perfect. Also a big plus, is the location: the hotel is in the forest and there are beautiful paths to go for walks around.
