Clouds Montville

We are over from the Uk visiting our son and family who live on the Sunshine Coast. We wanted to have a short break away and chose The Clouds because we loved the idea of being in the rain forest. We stayed in one of the deluxe cottages which are separate from the main hotel and you really feel in the rain forest! The cottage was very comfortable and clean with a lovely comfy large bed. The bath in the room was great too and so lovely to look out on the lush canopy listening to the sounds of the forest. The air conditioning worked well but we also loved sitting out on the verandah too!( don’t forget to bring insect repellent if you want to sit out in the evening) The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to make a basic supper/ breakfast ! The staff, including Susie, Bree and the cleaners were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

Location is great, room was clean and tidy and had nice view out of the balcony. Always nice place to stay just a short drive from Montville on the main road. Pool area is nice and we did have a swim. 2nd time we have stayed here.

Cafe was not open despite what Google and hotel website indicated. Many people staying that night and a few as well from outside the hotel turned up to go to the cafe for breakfast but it never opened. It was during the xmas break but a simple sign on the cafe door could have made it clear they were not opening.

The views were wonderful and the pool was set up well. Complimentary Netflix was fantastic. Location was amazing away from busyness but still a close drive to the shops. Lovely breeze in summer through apartment when doors are open. Contactless check in and check out made staying easy.

Doors didn’t have fly-screen so when doors are open for a breeze and cooking, bugs and mozzies get in. Bathroom floor may need a clean with soap residue marks visible on dark coloured tiles.

Breakfast was left in the in room fridge the first night but if this was considered to be for two nights then it was not enough. Our room was not serviced on the second day of our stay even though we spoke to the Housekeepers and advised them that we were leaving the room to go out. There was no information in the room like a "Guest Information Pack" and it would seem that the management expected that guests would be able to receive E-Mails even when they were travelling long distances by air and road to advise on procedures in the hotel.

Great view and nicely appointed room and awesome terrace.

The front parking lots a way to narrow. When you travel you have lots to get out of your car and you don’t want to damage other guests cars. And you certainly don’t want yours damaged. I’m pretty sure these lots are set to minimum size. The pool was full of leaves and the pool cleaning unit was still in the pool when people wanted to use the pool. so we didn’t use the pool. Thankfully all guests were great and all very careful with each others cars.

Clean, modern and cozy. Simple (modern) interiors and living spaces you can feel comfortable in. As a bit of a clean freak, I felt very at ease here. Lovely shower and a heated towel rack! Perfect for these colder months. Plenty of kitchen bench space. Massive TV. Extra blankets available and an easy to use AC system. Easy to find location with a great view of the sunrise. Plenty of parking available.

A couple more of the softer pillows would have been lovely. Regardless, Clouds will be our pick when we return!

the view was amazing ! having our morning coffee watching the clouds and the mountains was so tranquil and peaceful too cold to swim however the pool area looked beautiful and inviting clean amenities, ample of cleaning towels. we really appreciated the appliances in the kitchenette.

only fault would be the bathroom door handle was broken. and there was no fan in bedroom / aircon unit didn’t blow into the bedroom either. however there was a good breeze through the window but this meant the curtain would have to be open. minor minor things but this did hinder our comfortability for sleeping

The studio with kitchenette was very spacious and well equipped. The pool was lovely. The venue felt quite luxurious for a very reasonable price. It’s in a great location just a few minutes drive from Montville. A nice breakfast included but only on weekends.

They only provided 2 towels for 3 guests. The cafe is not open/breakfast not available on weekdays

Plenty parking, clean spacious rooms. A well designed kitchenette and dining area. A nice pool but unfortunately not heated!

A heated pool would be lovely. The granola served at weekend breakfast tasted stale. In a 5 night stay our room was cleaned once. Twice would have been better. A small bathroom needs more regular cleans and the tiny bins fill up quickly!

Very large room with a separate bedroom. Comfortable sitting area with large screen tv and well equipped kitchenette. Fabulous view from the second story balcony looking out to the coastline. Had a lift for easy upstairs access. Located a few k’s from the town centre so need a car or other transport however there is a restaurant and cafe on site.

Couldn’t fault the room or facilities.
