Best Western Plus North Lakes Hotel

* Location - I needed to be in the North of Brisbane and the location was perfect. * Views over the lake - very nice * Food was excellent, especially breakfast * Staff * Beds were very comfortable * very clean

It is not easy to find something I didn’t like but I will offer one area of improvement. The restaurant closes too early. I arrived at 6.45pm on a Friday afternoon and was told I needed to order by 7.00pm for 7.30pm closing. I had 12 other people coming in to join me for dinner. The staff did a great job of feeding us all (13 heads served in 15mins), but it does seem very early to close down the restaurant and bar.

Amazing location, relaxing spot right next to Lake Eden but also close to the incredible Westfield Mall in North Lakes. Very clean, great parking and our room was so well kitted out with everything we needed.

The three day servicing would normally be okay, but we found we only had a small stock of tissues & toilet paper, plus our rubbish bin overflowed (we had a kitchenette so there was some expectation that we would be making our own meals or buying groceries....which cause additional waste).

Beds were very comfortable (2 singles) and everything was very clean. The room provided tea making facilities and we hired a microwave at $10 a night. Everything we needed for a short stay was available. We lunched at the Boardwalk Cafe and the meal was excellent. Location was central for our requirements and the view from our room and balcony was stunning. All staff were both friendly and very helpful at all times.

I do think that a microwave should be included with all rooms not supplied as an added extra. There was nothing else I would criticise.

The room was more than adequate for our stay and the river and park views were beautiful. The restaurant was absolute quality and the breakfast and cafe staff were really welcoming and highly efficient. Very local to North Lakes Shopping Centre and beautiful parks and walkways.

The Entry and Car Park were quite confusing, there were cars everywhere and no parking available at the book-in when we arrived. It wasn't clear that we could enter the greater car parks down the ramps without having to check in first and I didn't see signage advising of this though we did later find out it was ok to do so and then take the lifts to the main reception area.

Nice and clean. Delayed check in as there was confusion at reception about who was logged into which tablet, bit of mucking around. I expected it to be quicker as I did the pre check in, but it certainly wasn't. When I checked out in Sunday, the Receptionist seemed to be in a slightly awkward conversation on the phone regarding a previous client and some issue.....she just gestured to me to hand over my swipe card. I wanted to inform her that there was a dress in the wardrobe that may have been from the previous occupants of my room, however I didn't have the chance. Very non personal experience upon exit. What I did like, as opposed to 12 months ago on level 1, Level 3 was so much quieter and enjoyable, away from the functions etc. Less noisy.

Delayed check in, confusion at reception. Upon checking out, only one Receptionist, on a phone call with a previous client. Signalled to me to hand over my swipe cards. very unprofessional, impersonal and a cool departure.

Very comfortable bed and pillows were good; clean (except for small amount of dust where there were black lamps etc. would be only criticism.); staff very obliging; location is lovely on the lake; modern hotel therefore not tired looking like a lot of places. Would definitely stay at this location again! Parking was easy too!

There was nothing I didn't like about this hotel. It was very good overall.

Bed and bedding were comfortable, especially pillows. It is usually hard to get a decent pillow in holiday accommodation, so comfortable pillows were a nice surprise. Bathroom facilities were good and parking was good. I was happy with no housekeeping for the three nights we were there.

Although happy with no housekeeping for our three night stay, a refill of coffee, milk, tea, sugar and biscuits on a daily basis would have been nice. Also there were building works going on and the main entrance to the motel was closed. It would have been nice to be notified when we spoke to the staff about our booking. We would not have cancelled because of the building works but it would have been nice to know that there was an alternative entrance to the car park and reception area which was in the ground floor parking area. Reception staff not particularly friendly but not rude either.

Location was great, close to shopping centre, leisure activities, everything we needed. Room was very big and spacious. Lots of storage. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen was well supplied with utensils.

Staff could have been more helpful. Had to ask 2 days in a row for toilet paper for our room. Supplied my own in the end. Bathroom had a bit of an odour coming from the drains but it was a lovely big clean bathroom other than that.

I always like my stay here. Its a Beautiful hotel. Having a reataurant on site is a huge Draw catd

I usually Book direct with the hotel and the rooms are always excellent. Due to school holidays there usual rooms were booked so I thought I would go an Apartment. The cost of these per night was $347... my only complaint would be NO tv in the bedroom which I thought would be standard these days especially for the price.. Its winter and snuggling up on front of a movie would have been nice.

The room was very nice and clean. Beautiful big bed and very comfy, we had a very good nights sleep.

The restaurant/café was way overpriced and the food was not very good. We arrived for dinner on Saturday night and were told that our selection off the menu board was not available on Saturday nights. My husband then ordered a burger and I ordered pork belly carbonara. The burger looked fantastic but lacked taste and my meat was just lumpy blobs of chewy pork fat in a tasteless mix of spaghetti. Not good at all. Went next door to the park where a color run was being held and had a sausage sizzle with a donut for dessert which tasted better and better value for money. The clock/phone charger on either side bedside table was a little annoying as well. Lights were bright all night, we ended up unplugging them as they were similar to a bright nightlight and hard to sleep with.
