Tropicana Resort Phu Quoc

The location is excellent - right in the central area with many bars and restaurants within walking distance, and with a private beach right in front of the resort. The rooms are very spacious and the higher up ones have nice views. All of the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Beach towels are provided at the front desk. Our rooms were suitably clean and were cleaned each day. The breakfast provided is fine - not a huge selection but enough food. Free coffee, tea, and bottled water provided each day in the room. The pool is very nice - large and with clean water, not tasting strongly of salt or chlorine. The private beach has several sunbeds available for use, but not enough for everyone when the property is full. (We often had to wait a bit to get enough sunbeds for our family.)

The resort just needs a little bit more upkeep and care in the rooms for the price. My room had a bit of a funny smell and seemed a bit dated. In addition, there was a mini bar menu pasted on the fridge, but nothing available in the actual fridge. We had small ants in all of our rooms and a small cockroach in one room - I know this happens often in Vietnam, but many other places are able to better manage the bugs. Whenever you leave the room and take the room key out of the wall, the electricity shuts off which includes the fridge, so after a long day out, the items in your fridge are not as cold anymore. The hotel should provide hand towels as well as bath towels, and tissues (Kleenex) in the room for this price.

Beautiful beachfront, nicely built and designed rooms.

Maintenance is lacking. First beachfront bungalow was so filled with mold and mildew I had to ask to move. Second with patio was nice but TV, phone, and safe didn't work. Staff eventually fixed each issue but seemed like one after another. Alleyway from main road to hotel is scary as a solo traveler. Loose dogs living in the abandoned lot across the way. Security for the hotel is unfortunately positioned not in view of the alley.

The breakfast is quite basic, and not very tasty, you can walk 100 meters away and get much more delicious meal for the same price (100k dong) or cheaper. Also it ends at 9 am, which is a ridiculous time for that I’m my opinion.

Good position right on beach front. Had Ocean View room on 4th floor which was beautiful. Staff were helpful and friendly. Plenty of good little restaurants nearby and free bus stop just up on main rode. Could not fault this hotel.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at the Tropicana Resort - it wasn't one of the best rated hotels when I was doing the research, however it had excellent location and I decided to book it. Everything went great onsite, the staff were extremely nice, my room had sea view which was amazing to wake up to every morning. I would definitely book it again and I think it is an excellent choice for people that want to stay at a nice place at the beach and don't want to spend tons of money for it. There is also a great restaurant nearby that you should not miss to visit - Tween's Kitchen.

The air-conditioning was a bit old and slow to work but it was still ok.

We got the beach front bungalow and it was stunning. We loved everything about it. The hotel it’s self is really pretty and well kept. We walked past other hotels and Tropicana was by far the nicest and the best location.

The only down fall was they only served breakfast, nothing else during the day. There’s plenty of restaurants less than 100m walk that are REALLY well priced - we were very surprised about this. Bed was a little hard but with the view we had - there’s no complaints from us at all.

It was perfect! The hotel has kept a real rustic charm, not like the others which are too modern. Everything was good inside the room, very big and comfy and the view was so amazing! The staff was very nice, especially the guy with black glasses at the reception, who starts working at the beginning of the evening. The whole hotel is very clean, with a beautiful pool, a beautiful garden and a private beach with sunbeds. I would definitely recommend and come back here!

Nothing. It was perfect!

The resort has a nice beach and nice swimming pool. My room (once I finally got the one I actually reserved) was very nice. Most days the next door resort burned trash so the smoke made the pool was unusable

When I got there, I was given a room for 3 (just filled up by beds) rather than the one with double bed which I reserved. Their response was very strange: "The room you reserved is not free". Not even an apology!

Amazing hotel with friendly staff. Hotel with private beach with sunchairs and umbrellas. Location was great, quietly located on a side road to the main road with lots of restaurants. The main road was about 200m from the hotel. Large rooms, with either balcony or terrass. Each room had 2 chairs and a small table on the terrass/balcony.
