Holiday Inn Express Houston Space Center-Clear Lake, an IHG Hotel

Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Location was perfect as it was only a 30 minute drive to our final destination of Galveston and our Carnival cruise. We were coming from San Antonio and didn't want to risk the drive on a Sunday without a stopover in case the traffic was bad. So we drove on Saturday to get as close as we could and still stay close to the main highway to Galveston after a stopover at the hotel.

A few more tables in the breakfast area? Might not be possible, though. There's really nothing else we did not like. All was really good for us.

The hotel is very close to our daughters home. we have our grandsons stay at the hotel with us when we come to visit them.

The fact that room service is nonexistent since Covid. We had to ask for clean towels, toilet paper, and bath wash, shampoo & conditioner. Our trash was only emptied once we asked for that. you should never have to ask to have trash cans emptied. There is no pandemic currently so room service should be restored. The hot tub was stagnant & green and not able to be used for the 4 days we were there. Also, whatever the scent is that you use in elevators & the Lobby is too MUCH. Some people are extremely sensitive to scents and it makes it hard for us when the scent is strong in common areas.

Location was great, only 8 minutes away from where I needed to go for business.

Breakfast wasn't good or appetizing. Pre-frozen omeletts were served but the centers were still cold. Biscuits were preheat from the day before, each biscuit was toasted in it's entirety and hard to the touch. My beds were very uncomfortable, I had to buy mattress toppers at the local Walmart for a comfortable good night's sleep. I didn't like the fact that no individual cartons of milk were available, only a large pitcher for all guests to grab which was very unsanitary. On the 1st morning at breakfast I noticed a guest cough in his hand then grab the pitcher of milk, then use that same hand he had cough in to open the spout on the pitch to retrieve his milk.

Breakfast was excellent, Tita was the person who was there to prepare breakfast was courteous and doing a great job; but next day she wasn't there and a lot of people including me need to be waiting for eggs to come out, sausage, coffee. The front desk lady needed to come and help her. The pancake machine wasn't working 😕. Front desk people always courteous with a great attitude. Hotel has a great location to malls, food places. Costco, Walmart. 15 minutes from space center.

room was great. Husband found his show on the TV. I was able to get liquid creamer from down stairs for my morning coffee the night before. Beds had "hard" and soft pillows and were a good height for getting in and out.

I didn't check the towels before bedtime and I needed 1 more. Not sure the room had 2 full towel sets. Taxes on the room rate were $13.33 for out 1 night. Considering you travel to a city to spend money-it's a bit much that they gouge you with taxes every night.

We loved it. It was nice and quiet off the Highway. The room was huge. Shower did leak from the enclosed glass but that’s something for maintenance to fix. I don’t hold that against them. The pool was rowdy the one night we thought about swimming but it was mainly all the little kids having fun. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Would stay here any time on that side of Houston!

Nothing was the fault of the property. Just a leaking panel on the shower and young kids in pool having fun. The covid breakfast style was a little disappointing cause was hoping for hot breakfast but we get covid protocol. The breakfast did have lots of variety tho and we enjoyed it every morning.

Location, cleanliness

Asked for more towels and coffee three days in a row and never got them. Family staying over us had kids jumping off the bed for two hours from 10-12 pm. Called the front office once and then got up and dressed and had to go down to the desk.

My credit card was charged too many times. the first charge was for the hold on the room before I even got there. then when I got there they charged me for my room and did not deduct the holding charge. then when I check out on Monday they charged my again for the room. i called and they said they can’t do nothing about it and I would have to call my bank

Breakfast was great with a nice variety of foods. Staff very pleasant and efficient. Location was excellent, and easy access to I45 and a great variety of restaurants. It may have been the quietest hotel we’ve ever slept in, even though it was busy.

The beds were extremely comfortable. Property and room were very clean. Friendly staff.

I wish breakfast was open a little bit later. They closed while we were in the dining area still actively eating. Daughter was still thirsty and hungry but they had closed.
