The location was great for seeing Sioux Falls - within walking distance of the river and downtown - the house is on a street of other historic houses which are fun to see - there is a washing machine and dryer on the premises which was a great boon - the hosts recommendations for things to do especially restaurants were excellent
The room was quite dark and the very Victorian decor a little oppressive - while it was grand to have a washer and dryer the credit card function didn’t work very well - there were maybe a few too many steps to check in though everything was clearly explained

Very nice room, beautiful multiple common areas. We had a glass of wine in the beautiful parlor in front of the fireplace while other guests were out. Modern kitchen is wonderful, if you plan to have meals there. House would be great for extended family groups. The decor and restoration are done very well. Absolutely don't miss touring the Pettigrew House museum right next door.
Lots of info and instructions communicated via text. I'm of an older generation with poor eyesight who likes to print it all out ahead of time. But we had no issues. Also minor, would have appreciated a box of Kleenex in the room.

Loved the huge front porch with swing and on-site laundry facilities. The room was comfortable and clean. The host was very communicative via text and came over in person to address an issue with the laundry room. It was nice to park in back via an alley.
The security deposit requirement was unusual but not really a deterrent as I assume it was created for good reason. The location was near downtown but for older folks like us not really just steps away due to the hilly terrain to downtown.

I loved the decor being modern but still had a Victorian Era feel! The access to restaurants and local attractions was within minutes! Had pleasant conversations with a wonderful couple that was also renting for the weekend, so I didn't feel alone in a big house. I would love to visit their other properties based on my experience. Far better than a common hotel room with stiff and stale sheets.
That I could only stay for one evening! It would have been awesome to have met other interesting travelers seeking a respite from their journeys.

The house was nice. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen facility was a wonderful plus. Able to fix a nice Christmas Eve and Christmas Day meal with what we brought with us. Enjoyed the Downtown area of Sioux Falls, especially the Falls lights. Had a nice visit with the other couple sharing the house for the weekend. Very relaxing weekend overall.
We were disappointed that we weren't able to get the fireplace lit, but didn't try too hard. The games were a mess and we couldn't find the DVD player. Once we straightened up the games, we were able to find the DVD player. The house got a little chilly, but we expected that with it being an older home and brought extra blankets with us. It would have been nice to have been able to control some of the lights ourselves. Too many lights on for too long and everything came back on if we moved while trying to watch TV. Other than that everything seemed to be good.

Beautiful, authentic Queen Ann Victorian with guest rooms on second floor - each with unique decorating theme. Incredible downstairs parlors, front porch and backyard patio to relax in. Wonderful location. Great coffee machine and other room amenities. Self check in which comes with several suggestions to do in area - all really good ones.
The house includes a beautiful kitchen including a refrigerator and freezer. A really nice touch would be to include ice in freezer for guest use. Self check in and only able to do this until 5pm - They have earlier options at 1 and 3pm for increased fee - response to additional requests for information not timely.

The place is beautiful. It's worth traveling to South Dakota just to see it. A real architectural peace of art. The owners take great care of it and protect it, a lot of attention to detail.
If the deposit will not be requested and sending a million messages a day will be stopped, it will be 10/10.

A well appointed old mansion within walking distance of downtown Sioux Falls.
Online confirmation of checkin procedures in order to get our entry code was impossible. We had to call and texts the owner several times to get the code released. There seems to be something wrong with the registration software. Once we got our front door code via text, everything worked well. I had difficulty connecting to the wifi as well, probably the router needs to be restarted. One device connected but another did not.

Quite alone and I didn't see any other clients and/or the management. It would have been nice to actually talk with a REAL person and that's most always the reason I choose lodgings like this rather than a hotel/motel. Still, I'd stay there again.
