Ignore any negative reviews and just book it. I was pleasantly surprised by this little hotel and LOVED my four night stay. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, the color scheme and retro decor calming, airy curtains opened up to private balcony (I stayed in the largest room on the third floor facing the beach. Room 12), there were beach chairs, towels and a beach umbrella in the room (WOW!!!). This isn’t a beachfront property but the beach is literally a three minute walk. Perfect. Recommend La Playa grocer around the corner for groceries and wine (south beach is so pricey to dine out). I would definitely recommend and return!

This is a solid three star hotel. Just a few things needed attention. Lightbulbs in one side lamp and in the bathroom were burnt out. Carpet was not vacuumed during my stay. I dined in the restaurant my first night. Strange service. The server approached me with an empty water glass and asked if tap water was okay (she was not holding a pitcher of water). I placed my order (one drink and a chicken dinner). The server didn’t bring me water until she brought out my drink (which took a bit but strange since the restaurant was nearly empty). I did not return to the on site restaurant or bar because of this experience. By no means did this ruin my evening (or my stay in the hotel) but possibly it’s a training issue.

Nice boutique hotel on southern end of Ocean Drive. 2 minutes walk to Ocean Drive, far enough to have quiet undisturbet nights. Super friendly and supportive staff both for hotel and restaurant. Food in the restaurant is excellent. Pool on the roof is small but accessible at nights also, unlike the sea and other pools the pool temperature is lowered automatically. 2 Minutes to the beach, just cross Ocean Drive and you are there, 5 minutes to South Beach park with beach volleyball courts and free outdoor gyms.

We had a wonderful experience at Local House, right before Christmas 2022. This is a cool hotel, perfectly located across the street from the beach, but in a quiet part of Ocean Drive, in walking distance to bars and restaurants. Very welcoming atmosphere, the room was clean, comfortable and equipped with complementary beach gear. We had a great time at the rooftop pool area, a perfect spot to relax after the beach. The restaurant at the entrance is lovely with great food, excellent service and friendly staff. Excellent customer service with great attention to detail, the concierge helped us with friendly and professional service, simply making our stay more pleasant! We had a great time and will be back!

Love that its a couple minute walk from beach. Also a more quiet area but in a minute or two walk you’re close to restaurants and clubs. Pool on roof top was great. Restaurant was very pretty and it smells nice the second you walk into lobby. The bed was very comfy too

The rooms were nice and were perfect for me but for someone looking for super high end they could use a bit of work.

Good location at the quite end of Ocean Drive and just 5 min walk to beach. We had two rooms for 5 adults and we had plenty of space. Room had beach chairs, umbrella and beach towels. The breakfast at the hotel is great (but same high price tag as all other restaurants these days).

The rooms are not sound proof so noise from hall or next-door rooms (but not from street). Had startup issues with the required key app (most likely because we had two rooms in same name and foreign telephones and initially no wifi access but only expensive roaming) - once we had the access it was working without problems. The reception was sometimes empty so had to wait for service.

proximity to trolley, beach and ocean drive. The beach chairs and umbrella were a nice amenity added. Made our beach day worry free. Rooms are spacious though some furniture was dated.

pool wasn’t cleaned from falling tree leaves or bugs. My husband cleaned it before we used. Also, no ice availability for guests. We had to bother bar area for ice when needed. I use the word bother because that’s what we observed when we asked bar employees.

We stayed at this hotel for two separate nights. One night prior to our cruise and one night after. We had room 12 on our first night which was a corner suite on the third floor with a wrap around porch and views of Ocean Dr. and Fourth St. and also a view of the beach. On our second night we stayed in room 1 which was on the second floor with a balcony facing Ocean Dr. Both rooms were spacious and well equipped with really nice toiletry essentials as well as beach towels, chairs and an umbrella for you to use. However, there is an additional $18 fee for this perk. We were able to check in earlier both times which was convenient as it allowed us to start our vacation right away. There is a $35 fee for early check in though, but when we were able to check in before 11am on our second day, in my opinion it is worth it. We had the pleasure of speaking to most of the staff who are all friendly. The two that were exceptional were Victoria and Catherine. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one especially on my birthday !

The hotel is a little on the pricey side and although they give you two free drinks at their restaurant and 10% off for dining, a complimentary breakfast would have been nice.

The staff, particularly Front of House (Victoria was very helpful), the room was beautiful, spacious, lovely decoration and a balcony with partial sea view. Location was great, on Ocean Drive but at the quieter end, with a short walk to where all the action was and the beach across the road. Would definitely recommend.

The only thing that let it down was the Valet Service. I note that we are not the only people to have had a problem. We paid $70 for 2 nights valet service, and booked the car to be returned to us for a specific time as we had a flight to catch. The car was 25 mins late and required 2 x calls from the hotel to get it to happen. Then when it did arrive the Valet got out of the car, on his phone, didn't put the hand brake on (so as we loaded the car it moved), and made no apology, no eye contact, nothing, just walked away! For $70 we did have an expectation of service, which failed. We have raised with the hotel and they have taken it up with the Valet Service company, who apparently work for several hotels, and clearly need to address their service levels.

Both girls at the reception were extremely good and helpful. Location is excellent and you are not on the busy side of the Ocean Drive with plenty of tourists and parties going on so can enjoy your good night sleep and just two minute walk to the beach that is also quite. The Local House restaurant is excellent choice for breakfast and very popular for the locals being full on the weekend, we really enjoyed it. As a hotel guest you get 10% discount and free drink. Room itself was good with just one major issue that is mentioned below. We took a room view a view and it was excellent for sunrise.

Table at the room was an absolute disaster with large stains and marks from an iron. We had to put a towel over it as it was not the nicest sight. Bathroom shower was also constantly leaking due to the high water pressure. Also did not enjoy the charge for early check-in of $25 when checking-in just two hours earlier just to drop off the luggage and take a quick shower after 11 hour flight after what we went to the beach. Valet parking was 35$ plus tip per day which is quite expensive and had to wait 20-30 minutes when collecting it while for the drop-off you could leave the key at the reception.
