Great location. Easy to get to all tourist sites from the hotel.
Was directly on the boarder of the Tenderloin district. Tenderloin district is where all homeless are. We walked from Union Square to the hotel with our luggage not knowing we were walking threw it. Was an eye sore. If you are traveling by public transport, try and go another way. Otherwise, I felt very safe outside and inside the hotel. Was only the walk to the hotel from the BART that was not attractive.

Perfect location next to one bus line and close to many things worth seeing. No fear for the homeless as others suggest, they are on the other side of Van Ness where you catch the bus. Clean and comfortable and a free parking ! Perfect !
Leak in the shower as the door is installed on the wrong side of the shower :-)

The location was just what we were looking for - close enough to the Haight Ashbury district we were visiting. We were able to walk to the bar we were going to that night, however I would not recommend that due to the status of the neighborhood. The hotel itself seemed to be very old but everything was updated. The linens seemed clean, the bed was comfy and the shower was just perfect.
There was coffee in our room, but no coffee maker... seemed a little odd. Other than that the room was a good deal for the price.

Dirty common spaces (stairs, elevator, garage). With a little cleaning and better illumination it would improve a lot. Unfortunately, the motel is ina block where homeless and drug dealers are ubiquitous, but that's not the hotels fault.

Good location - walking distance to the point of interest. welcoming and helping staff. Free parking on the first floor (inside the building). We decided to leave one day earlier, hotel agreed to refund us one night in full. That was very nice and unexpected.
The neighborhood down the street is not safe, watch out when walking around.

We booked a room at the Rodeway Inn because the location was walking distance from our favorite San Francisco restaurant and the Opera House, where we were attending a ballet performance. The room was simple and basic, but clean and quiet.

Property itself is very safe. The room was very clean and had everything we needed including a microwave and fridge.
All the homeless people/drug dealing activities and the homeless setting fires in the parking lot behind the hotel.
