the decor of the front lobby and the staff were all great. the rooms were really basic. mostly clean, except some stains on walls, the curtain and bathtub as well as the dust on floorboards. the beds were comfy enough and clean.

no table to eat at and only one chair for a double room. there are a lot of homeless just a few hundred feet from the door. but that is SF. it’s gotten really bad. it was really close to the ballet and that was why we were there. it could have been cleaner in the room, just little detail things. also the automatic lights in the entrance and bathroom that could not be turned off were very horrible.

The price for the quality is good. The bed and pillows were really nice

The Heat/AC unit was way too loud. Woke me up many times during the night. Also there are too many homeless outside (downtown SF, expected in a way but still worth mentioning)

The hotel itself was a very clean, the decoration was modern and minimalist. The lobby was comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable as well.

There was no breakfast, and the cafe wasn't open, meaning we had to head out for food in the morning. The surrounding streets were a pretty rough, by no fault of the hotel, but providing a breakfast option would have made our stay that much more comfortable. Also, there was a resort tax for $29 a night that was not included on the original booking cost, which was inconvenient at the time of billing.

Staff at front desk were very helpful and provided great customer service. The hotel itself was very nice and modern with parking.

The location. The surroundings of the hotel at night did not feel very safe with lots (and I mean lots) of homeless people around doing drugs openly so we had to take a taxi every night to get back to the hotel (even though distance wise it would have been fine to just walk)

Central location, walking distance to metro station and downtown.

Parking costs US$55++ per night. Homeless situation is bad (50m away from hotel front door)

The cheap rooms are actually shared rooms. There's just a door that separates them. So when I got to my room I realized I was basically sharing it with a loud family with two kids. However, as soon as I talked to the guy at the front desk he put me in a different room which was actually quiet. In that room however the fridge did not work and the shower curtain would not close all the way so the bathroom would get flooded every time I took a shower. Overall, not a big issue for me.

Will not return to San Francisco downtown in the near future, until environmental political changes occur. There were 1000's of homeless milling about downtown / dozens taking drugs and sleeping on every street corner. BEI did GREAT job of providing private security!,, so made the best of a horrible situation. Spent $5000 of disposable income on 5 day stay, but next time will go somewhere else, local politicians must be made to realize this !! BEI was FABULOUS though !!, hope y'all can get local politicians to set situation straight soon !! USA is watching!!, almost all of my upper-middle class friends with lots of disposable income told me not to go to SF !!!

I was greeted by Ana as I came, and left during my stay. The beds were comfy. The staff was amazing!! Omg AND, they have affordable in/out parking!! Totally worth it!!

The prices for the cafe & for early check-in, parking, etc. We’re VERY overpriced. The elevators were also kind of sketchy and felt unsafe at times. 2 out of the 4 front desk workers I had spoken too were so rude & condescending. We also tried to get food at the café on our 2nd day of our stay, when it ended up being closed, they had a sign outside of the café, saying that they were on a 30 minute lunch. When we came back, five minutes after the 30 minute lunch should’ve been over the café worker was still not there, so we ended up going to the front desk, asking them what was going on, one of the workers was very rude and said, “Well you can always go get food outside of the hotel if you’re so starved.” The homeless problem right outside the hotel was a big problem.
