Informative and helpful staff including quick check-in and check-out. Cheery and clean room, recently renovated with retro vibe. Refrigerator kept food and drinks cold. The requested microwave was ready upon arrival. Full-length mirror much appreciated (often absent in fancier hotels). Great location for exploring Castro neighborhood and easy connections downtown on F Line. Took BART from SFO airport and staff instructions were helpful (change at Civic Center to F Line, exit at Sanchez) to avoid carrying luggage uphill. Room was cleaned promptly every day. It has plenty of outdoor lighting--good for safety. Loved the Pharmacopia (a local company) soaps, shampoo, and conditioner with pleasant fresh herbal scents that don't linger (ecologically furnished in refillable bottles). Outdoor deck was nice for a drink or watching the neighborhood activity. A simple, friendly spot.

Closet space is minimal for clothes. More closet height would be useful for longer coats and garments (wall hooks took care of some of those items). No dresser. Limited shelf space in closet accommodates contents of one carryon bag but might be tight for two. (Other rooms might have different configurations.) Rooms are not soundproof (not a problem for me, but might bother light sleepers unaccustomed to urban noises or those from neighboring rooms). I prefer a firmer mattress but the bed was comfortable. None of these were dealbreakers. I'd gladly return to Beck's.

It is a safe neighborhood, considering that it is San Francisco. The stairs that lead to the rooms can be accessed only with key cards, so it feels safe. We asked for a microwave, and they gave us one. There is a safe, coffee machine and a mini fridge in the room. Parking is free and there was always enough space to park. They have a nice deck to sit on and fabulous coffee house (Peet's) across the street. The same coffee capsules are also provided in the room. The beds are comfortable and the toiletries nice.

Everything was fine, we would definitely come again 😁

Location, location, location! Felt safe in our room and on the premises. Beck's is truly a gem! Took the F train and brought us right into Fisherman's Wharf and back for 3 bucks each, one way. We were only there 2 nights but will definitely stay there again and would highly recommend this wonderful fixture in the beautiful Castro district! The coffee setup in the room was perfect for starting your day, the room had everything you needed and the daily turndown service was a real treat. Love you Beck's!!

The only thing I didn't like was having to leave...The next time I am in SF I will stay a little longer.

Loved the retro look of the hotel! The gentleman at the front desk was the sweetest and let us check in at 9:30am because we had an extremely early flight and needed a nap. The sun deck was awesome and I sat out there for a bit each day. Well lit at night and free parking was a lifesaver because parking in SF can be difficult and super expensive.

The garbage wasn’t emptied from the previous guest and let’s just say that proof of a “lucky” night was very visible. There also wasn’t much storage and our room was small, but we were mainly there to sleep so we didn’t care.

Becks is an icon and is in an unbelievably good position to the Castro as opposed to the international hotels around Union Square. It’s an experience but you have to take the limitations of the place in your stride to enjoy the experience.

We booked a king suite however received a twin room. It wasn’t a good room. They we’re renovating the king suites but didn’t let us know. When we complained they offered to cancel our booking…..not the response I was expecting for a rate higher than USD$300 per night.

For years I wanted to go to Becks' because it is in Castro. It is close to everything Castro. Nice rooms (the updated rooms may be even nicer) and a correct service. A special thanks to to the "technical" guy, don't know exactly his job description but he is very friendly and communitive. A plus is that Beck's contact me beforehand that the booked room was not available because of renovations but offered me a discount on the newly booked room. If in San Francisco/Castro we think this is the place to stay if you can afford it.

Location was excellent, the rooms were comfortable and clean, the cleaning service was efficient. Overall quite delighted by my stay and would plan to come again.

A minor detail, I didn’t like that the coffee station in my room was placed near the bathroom sink. I would rather have had it out by the desk in the bedroom rather than in the bathroom (even though the toilet and shower are separated by a privacy pocket door, which I do like).

This was a fantastic surprise. We were slightly worried as we would not normally stay in motels. But Beck’s was fantastic! The rooms are renovated and very clean, there is free parking, and all entrances to all floors are secured and only accessible to guests. There was a daily cleaning service and the staff was very kind. The location is unbeatable, and feels very safe. A fantastic stay!

The motel is on Market St, the most central SF street so there can be some noise from trams, cars and passers-by. Nothing too inconvenient, and earplugs are provided in the bathroom. Coffee machines in the room needs changing as super old, and there should be a water-filler station rather than having to pay for water from a vending machine.

Great location. Well priced in an expensive city. Close to lots of restaurants and bars in Castro and Mission. Clean and quiet. We had a refurbished room at the back and it was large. Rooms in main part, out front are standard motel doubles

Sound proofing between bathrooms was non existent. Could hear everything from the bathroom next door, but the bedroom was OK. Fortunately the room was only occupied for 1 night but it would have been off-putting if it had been that noisy for our whole stay.

The location was ideal for our purposes. Walking distance to many bars and restaurants. Free parking was a HUGE plus! Our small group of women felt safe and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. I will be staying again.

Nothing really. It was exactly as described. Nothing fancy, but clean and safe.
