The location of the Corbet Arms is perfect for us, a couple of miles outside Shrewsbury in the little village of Uffington, which is close to the town and to Attingham Park, our favourite National Trust property. The river Severn flows alongside the pubs pretty beer garden and we've walked the 3 or so miles along it into Shrewsbury and back again, which a fantastic walk. Our room was spacious and very clean with lovely views over the fields beyond the river. There is a lovely terrace and steps down to the garden, which overlooks the river. The staff are very well trained and accomodating, special shout out to Elaine, who is excellent, very cheerful and lovely! We've been staying here for a few years now, we always look forward to our visits and are never disappointed by the welcome received, the lovely rooms and the hearty food, the breakfasts are delicious. A great place to stay, we can thoroughly recommend it.

I got a really friendly welcome when I after 7.30pm following a long drive. Both team members I spoke to were chatty and friendly and very professional. The food was lovely and served quickly. My room was fabulous. Immaculately clean, warm and very comfortable. It was quiet too which made getting to sleep very easy. Breakfast was very nice too. The lady who served me was lovely. I didn't catch her name but we chatted a few times. I highly recommend this lovely place to stay whether it be for business, like me, or pleasure. I'll definitely stay again.

The remote control in the room was a bit worse for wear so could do with being replaced but otherwise everything else was perfect.

I really liked the fact that the rooms were separate to the hotel as it made them nice and quiet. The TV came with built in Netflix that was already signed into an account so you didn't have to put your own details in. The tea and coffee that was provided was very nice, as were the biscuits. I liked the fact that you could tell that everything was clean, especially the bathroom, the toilet had a strip over it to let you know it was cleaned and that nobody had used it since.

When we got there, there wasn't any parking, the alternative parking at the village hall was down the street, we didn't feel comfortable leaving our car there, so we moved it when some guests had left. It's a very popular pub and they do warn you that there may not be parking, however it was annoying that the alternative was away from the hotel.

The room itself was great with lots of space. The breakfast was very good. Coffee good. Staff very pleasant. I enjoyed dinner and felt very comfortable bearing in mind I was alone.

I was in room 5. I think the tv in the next door room must be attached to the bed head side wall of room 5. The tv sound is very intrusive. Fortunately the people in the room turned the tv off just before 10pm otherwise getting to sleep could have been difficult.

This is a lovely venue. The room was spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Kettle in the room, coffee, tea and biscuits is a really lovely touch. It has fields around, and the view is amazing. First night on arrival, the pub was full and busy, but I couldn't hear anything in my room, so I slept like a log. I can definitely recommend this place and have booked again for my next trip.

There is nothing I didn't like

check in very smooth. Hotel location just outside Shrewsbury was excellent. We will visit again in the summer to take advantage of the lovely garden and outside seating right by river Severn. We chose the double room with extra large bed.....we were not dissappointed. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean as was the bathroom, bath, shower etc. Restaurant with great menu to suit all tastes. Staff on breakfast, bar, restaurant all first class.....well done.

Nothing.........you have a beautiful hotel.........I'm moving in!

I booked a family room only to share with 2 friends so we could attend an event in Shrewsbury. We were early to arrive but the receptionist was efficient and friendly. We arrived at our room around 10.30pm to be pleasantly surprised - it was a lovely large room, a huge king-sized bed and a large single, a compact but fully functional kitchen area and a good sized bathroom. Everything was immaculate. Towels & soap on the beds was a nice personal touch. The decor and furnishings were good quality; I wish I had been able to stay for breakfast as the restaurant looked lovely. Maybe next time!

We chose this hotel because of it has air conditioning and it’s close proximity to Wroxeter. We stayed in room 3 which was a spacious triple. One queen plus a twin. It also had a small kitchen and dining table. The other half of our group stayed in room 11 which had 2 twins and ice cold air conditioning. Dinner was delicious! There were nice breakfast options for 8 pound 50 and 11 pound 50 depending on how hungry you are. They have tables reserved for guests in the dining area, which was nice. There was a nice terrace to dine on in the evening.

The air conditioning struggled in room 3. The front desk person said he’d have someone bring us a fan, but no one ever came to our room. The hallway outside room 3 smelled awful, which was really weird. Room 11’s shower was super cramped and small. They still use actual keys for the doors. The key is also necessary to open the door to the rooms, which meant if you had to split up you’d have to ask someone from your room or from the front desk to come open that door for you.

A lovely location on the banks of the river Severn, with the skyline of Shrewsbury on the horizon, well it was from room 10. The room was spacious and clean, with reasonable facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful, and happy to assist when asked.

The room would benefit from a wardrobe rather than just having a clothes rail. The wi-fi was a little on the weak side with the room being on the top floor. Luckily we didn’t have any heavy rain during our stay but with no internal door into the ground floor facilities, one would get more than a little wet going round to the side entrance to the bar to get to the breakfast room.

The bedroom had well-preserved architectural integrity. It was lovely to be able to open the windows (which, refreshingly, were not uPVC). The evening meal (the Moroccan-style chicken thighs, and the hake) was excellent, far better than we had expected. All the staff were great - friendly and professional.

The trio of rose pictures in the bedroom was not a thing of beauty. The 'Corbet Arms' inn sign looked a bit digital, but this, sadly, seems to be happening to all historic pub signs. Consider replacing it with a hand-painted one? It would be more in keeping (no pun intended) as you've gone to the trouble of restoring the brickwork (well done for that, too).
