The location was Great. The room was comfortable and clean. The Breakfast was one of the best we've had for a long time. There's good, cheap parking 5 minutes away behind Theatre Severn.
We didn't know until we arrived that the Hotel is quite noisy. I feel this should be mentioned on their listing or during the booking process. It has single glazing which is due to the heritage of the building, but it lets alot of street noise in. The venue downstairs has music playing late into the night. They know this is an issue, as they provide earplugs in the room. But some mention on the listing would have prepared us better. The room had 3 windows which let in lots of light. Unfortunately, the curtains don't cut much of it out. I think blinds might be better.

The staff were really lovely, they were very helpful and checked us in early and looked after our luggage after checking out. The food was excellent- truly the best hotel food I've ever had, and among some of the top restaurants I've eaten at. The beds were comfy and cozy.
The shower was too small for anyone bigger than a size 12, the bathroom floor was slippery. The street outside was quite noisy, especially for a Monday night. Also to note, not anyone's fault but there was a plumbing issue that meant one of us had to move rooms (the staff were so accommodating about this) and the work to fix this started really early and woke us up. Can't be helped, I know, but it just made the stay more of an 8/10 rather than the full 10.

Staff were friendly and helpful making sure that we knew where to find everything we needed, including the best car park which did not charge for overnight and Sunday parking. The room had great character and was clean and comfortable with a good shower, plenty of storage space and a good supply of tea, coffee etc. The hotel is excellently placed in the centre of Shrewsbury with plenty of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. However, we chose to eat in the Loopy Shrew bar/restaurant, and I am glad we did. The food was absolutely brilliant! We would definitely stay here again if visiting Shrewsbury in the future.
No private hotel parking or discount for local car parks. The bar and around the hotel were very noisy and we sometimes had to shout to have any conversation over dinner.

Loved the breakfast was amazing and the staff couldn't do enough for you - it has a lovely feel about the place.
It was quite noisy and we were told that on check-in - which was fine - it wasn't't the noise of the pub or bar at all. We just didn't expect to hear drilling at 10pm on a Sunday night? The room was quite dusty - my husband had bad asthma so he noticed this, there was also hairs on the bathroom floor and the bed was a little too hard for us. That being said we would stay here again - but ask for a quiet/back facing room perhaps? It's a great location!

Location was great, comfy bed, everything was thought of in the room. It’s an old building with single glazed windows, of which some didn’t close properly but the heating was suffice and an additional heater if required was in the room. Hair dryer, extra pillows, iron, ironing board and a fan. An extension lead in the event more sockets required. Well thought out! Breakfast was beautiful too.
You are above a bar, it does get noisy, ear plugs are provided. However we were so tired and a few alcoholic drinks ensured this wasn’t an issue! Long stay car park was quite a distance.

The location is brilliant, right in the middle of everything. The room was comfortable and the staff were wonderful. The shower was nice and hot and the room was warm and cozy. They anticipated the need for earplugs (since the room is right over the pub) and they were high quality. Breakfast was wonderful and offered a good menu.
As with many places in Britain, the room was smaller than we Americans are used to, but it was comfortable. As mentioned, the pub was noisy, but the provided earplugs addressed that effectively. We knew this going in and it was worth it for the location and other benefits of the place.

This is a great place to stay and the food is excellent. It's in a central location and my room was comfortable (although the bathroom needs an urgent update). The one problem with it is the noise. I was put in the quietest room (right at the back) but was woeken at 11pm by the noise from the DJ in the bar below. Friday and Saturday nights are particularly loud apparently. They offer ear-plugs in the rooms. I put mine on at 11 and went back to sleep. Generally, though, I was very impressed, particularly by the dinner which I had in the bar/restaurant. Fantastic food and the breakfast was good too.
The noise late at night, although I was staying on a Friday night which is one of the louder nights of course.

Breakfast was excellent. Good location though difficult to drop off bags as no parking restrictions and strict on loading too. Parking nearby at Franklyn Main was very good, only 5 minutes walk. Staff were friendly and very obliging. Room was cleaned every day even though a bank holiday weekend - again excellent service.
Room was smallish with limited storage space. It was tired and in need of some improvement to windows, wall fittings and blinds though this did not impact on our stay which was good. Observed that rooms at the front were much smarter than “Dogpile” that we were in.

Room was excellent very clean ,cosy and comfortable. Everything you could need was provided
Breakfast was presented very nicely but somethings were missing and cold. Service was good. The big let down was cleaning was taking place all around our tables and chairs and feet . Vacuuming, mopping and spraying of disinfectant everywhere this was at 8:45 and the tables were all occupied which seemed very strange and was very unpleasant.

Love it here although the breakfast was a little stingy. No cereal, toast or pastries and only one hot drink offered at breakfast. Have stayed before and would again!
