Hotel Marmotte

Great location in Saas Fee; minutes walk from everything but in a quiet area. Everyone in the hotel was really friendly. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was excellent. Lovely room and lots of space on the balcony (view slightly blocked by cranes but this is not the hotel’s fault and thank goodness there was no construction noise). We had a great stay.

The shower was in the bath and the position was rather awkward, it also kept sliding down the pole so I had to use a hair tie to keep it up! It was also really difficult to lock the balcony door as it was very stiff; I wouldn’t have managed it on my own.

The room was very nice decorated and clean, comfy bed. The location of the hotel is great, just 3 min walk from the busterminal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a few min walk to the cable car of Alp Express. They also gave us a free cable car ride (the metro express requires additional charge).

We were told we would be picked up by the electric car from the busterminal when we arrive, but we found out they had no driver at the time of our stay, so we had to carry our luggage ourselves to and from the hotel. The breakfast was medicore, there wasn't enough variety of food and drinks to choose from.

Lovely hosts. Staff exceptionally friendly. Room very modern, clean and comfortable. The restaurant was superb both for evening meal and breakfast. Breakfast was very good, and the evening meal was superb. The outside area was compfortable with a great view. We were there out of season and it was good so can only imagine how fabulous it could be in season.

A very minor point. I kept banging my leg on the corner of the double bed.

We stayed here for one night at the start of a hiking trip. The staff at reception were very friendly, the room was comfortable. We thought the breakfast was excellent, with a lot of choices. We particularly enjoyed the selection of unusual home-made jams, such as the one made from tomatoes that doubled up as jam and chutney. The location is perfect, within 5 minutes' walk of the village centre.

This is Swiss hospitality at it’s absolute best. Great staff, friendly, efficient, and flexible. The chef in the «Essstube» knows the trade very well and the wine recommodations superb. If you are into alcohol, try the Gin Tonic, it’s made with passion and pride. Probably the fastest elevator in town? Large room with balcony and free shuttle bus to and from both parking and ski lift. You can’t ask for more. I’ll be back - guaranteed!

It’s very difficult to find any negative about this place. But I learned when I paid the parking that a SaastalCard, which is included in the accomodation, would have given me some nice offers on skicard and parking. That would have been nice to know before it was to late.

Very nice stay and a restaurant downstairs. Friendly stuff. I absolutely loved bathroom design. Stroller fits in the elevator ;) Very nice spa zone which we unfortunately didn’t use.

Not enough sockets on the room, view to the wall of a nearby hotel and a bit noisy in the evening when there is someone near the entrance to the hotel.

Location of the hotel is a bit outside of the centre, rooms are bright and clean with a balcony and a view to the mountains. Breakfast was not included in the price and costs 15 CHF per person. You can leave luggage in the luggage room before the check-in and after the check-out.

Restaurant was excellent - one of the best meals i have had in switzerland. service excellent and atmosphere was great. good storage room for ski stuff.

believe that as we were staying overnight a Saastal card should have been offered offering discount on car parking but only realised this after leaving. it would be good to mention this on checkin to new guests.

We loved the quirky charm of the place. Unique, different and comfortable . The restaurant WAS AMAZING! And the owners and the staff were beyond helpful and fun. Breakfast was delicious. Price of the rooms in the middle of Saas Fee, with the comfort of golf car transfers is a bonus. Highly recommended!!

Good breakfast, lots of variety, excellent evening meal in the restaurant. Rooms simple but modern and clean with everything required for a stay. Hotel staff very welcoming and the ski locker at the bottom of the lift with an electric car transfer on the first day was an unexpected bonus.
