Swiss Historic Hotel Masson

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel, enjoying the pleasant accommodations and the breathtaking view of Lake Geneva from Room 32, even though it didn't have a balcony. The staff was exceptional, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and attentiveness. Additionally, they provided a public transport ticket during our stay, making it even more convenient to explore the area. Highly recommended!

If you happen to have an oversized bag, it might be more convenient to consider taking a taxi, as the hotel is located uphill. The breakfast provided was satisfactory, and I haven't tried any other meals, as they appeared to be a bit on the higher-priced side.

We loved the hotel, its position and charm. The garden was beautiful and the interior was classy with relaxing music, fresh flowers and a quiet elegance. The room was well equipped with a wonderful view. Check in/ check out was smooth and we had a warm welcome. We thought the continental breakfast was good quality with reasonable choice and a good ambience. The small town and lakeside setting is stunning. There are easy access routes to Montreux, including regular buses and the promenade walk is wonderful.

It's an old hotel, there was no air conditioning, however the sheets were light and we slept well with the balcony door ajar to let some air in. The evening (set) meal was served attentively and again in a lovely setting however we thought it was over priced and without options as far as we were aware.

The hotel is in a tastefully modernised historical building which has retained many of its original features. I had booked a single room but was given a double with a terrace and direct access to the garden. The staff were unfailingly pleasant and helpful. The owners were much in evidence. The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was also large with a spacious shower. There was a very good selection of items at breakfast. WiFi was very good.

Nothing about the hotel itself. If you are travelling by public transport, be aware that there is a 5-10 minute walk up a steep hill. If arriving with luggage it might be advisable to take a taxi from the station in Montreux.

Lovely historic hotel with a great view of Lac Leman. Booked room with a private terrace was a delightful place to unwind and have a glass of wine while enjoying the views. Breakfast and nightly prix fixe meal were both delicious and clearly made with care and love. Staff were all exceedingly friendly and helpful. Hotel and room are well maintained period pieces to make one feel as thought they've stepped back in time

Nothing, we enjoyed it all

Charming hotel with super nice and helpful staff. Great views from the rooms (we had two rooms booked, see the picture for the view from one of them), with nice balconies, all super clean, showers were spectacular (the water pressure was amazing). Breakfast was great as well in a charming restaurant which also served dinners (we didn’t try). The location was an 8 min walk from the castle or about 30 min walk from the center of Montreux. We were also given the transportation passes (included in the stay) to go to and around the city of Montreux, which our kids used a lot.

Because the hotel is in the old building the floors are quite creaky and if your neighbor has a baby you would definitely hear the baby. However this doesn’t spoil the stay in any way. One thing that could be improved is to install some kind of handicap access to the rooms, but again, this hotel is in a historic building.

Good location near Montreux. Car parking on site. Convenient bus service to Montreux. Very friendly and welcoming staff Tasty breakfast buffet Lovely old building tastefully decorated in keeping with the age.

Room a bit stuffy. Creaky floors in this lovely old building can be irritating when other guests are moving around the hotel and walls a bit thin ( could hear crying baby in next room) Dinner was a set menu. although tasty, would have liked a bit more choice.

My husband and I were pleased the minute we saw the hotel. It is a beautiful historic building set in a quiet, upscale neighborhood. The hotel is beautifully furnished with antiques and well maintained. Our room had a terrace overlooking the lovely gardens and lake. The staff could not have been more helpful, providing suggestions for dinner and activities. While we did not dine at the hotel, the Dining Room was elegant and menu lovely. Parking was reasonably priced and right at the hotel. We definitely would stay there again.

The lovely location. It was so quiet, but only about 5 minutes bus ride from Montreux Casino and 10 minute walk to Castle Chinnon.

Nothing, other than no air conditioning. It was early 30s temperature wise so a little uncomfortable at night but I was aware the hotel had no air conditions so not a complaint at all.

Hotel was spotlessly clean,bed was very comfortable,room temperature was perfect (not too hot or cold) & the staff were extremely polite & helpful.

Being from the UK we couldn't watch TV as all the english TV channels were encrypted & there was no tea/coffee making facility in our room.Very minor things that could easily be rectified & wouldn't stop me from staying there again.

The location, the charm of the building and the decoration were very nice. I loved the atmosphere! It was very convenient to have a parking. The breakfast was delicious, and nicely presented.

The confort of the bed could be improved.(mattress could be better) The conforter was little too short so my feet were outside all night(and i am not very tall)
