Nice location

Breakfeast quite lousy. Striptease bar at the hotel is a bit extreme 😄

hotel Victoria was in my price budget and the location was excellent for my extended leisure stay , I chose a front suite with balcony to enjoy the view and relax after great days of sightseeing . easy location and bus transport to allow a quick return trip to freshen up and chill on the balcony during the day, before heading to the restaurant at the front of the complex for a pizza and wine dinner with a view of the Lake water feature.

as I’m a non smoker the lingering smell of Cigar smoke wasn’t to my liking. A quick fix would be to daily air out the rooms that are smoked in .

Friendly, helpful stall, although the receptionist was not always available. Excellent breakfast and location! Boat docks were just across the street and the bus stop a few blocks away…easy access to the train station, although over some cobblestone on the way to the bus stop with suitcases. The view from our room was gorgeous and we enjoyed sitting on our little balcony in the morning and evening. There was a festival across from the hotel on our last night which was very loud until 11:00 pm. That was somewhat annoying, but the hotel windows and air conditioning effectively blocked out the sound. Overall it was a lovely stay and we would return to this hotel.

The room had a great view over the lake - and a balcony with seating to enjoy that view. Breakfast in the elegant dining room was excellent, supported by really good service.

Our room was tired and needed a facelift. The bathroom was spacious, but had hooks and wires from previous installations still hanging on the walls. The cupboard and desk and bedside tables were old and cheap but still worked. If you stay, bring a few coathangers, because only two were provided.

felt I was scammed when coming to pay the bill. Without my authority my credit used used to secure the room and ultimately pay for the room was debited in GBP despite the hotel being in Switzerland incurring a 3.95% `mark-up` charge for the exchange. I was very unhappy about this as it it is something I would not accept had I presented the card myself. Whilst I have nothing against the hotel debiting my card for the stay it should only be in the local currency unless I specifically accept anything else. Felt cheated by this and a scam victim. The hotel was fine but this is sharp practice

Large room and bathroom, soft pillows and duvet, lots of extra pillows and bedlinen in the wardrobe, nice lake view from the windows which both opened onto tiny balconies. Air conditioning was useful especially as it had various strengths. The continental breakfast was very adequate, with boiled eggs if desired. There was a good variety of basic breakfast food, cereals, bread, croissants, cheese, cooked meats, yogurts and fruit. The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. There is a bus stop outside the hotel to go into the town centre and another in the road parallel which goes to the bus station. The hotel is in a very nice location on the lakeside, ten minutes' lovely walk along the lake to the town centre. There is also a boat stop across the rad from the hotel. I enjoyed my 3-night stay very much.

Paintwork in the bedroom was a little tired and one of the pictures needs rehanging. Unfortunately there was no minibar in the room. At least a fridge would have been extremely useful, given the heat, to keep water and snacks cool.

Everything was fabulous, we loved the old-world charm of the hotel, the welcome was warm, and I think they discreetly upgraded us to one of the best rooms. Breakfast was excellent, and the position of the hotel is perhaps the best in Lugano, the view from the room and the breakfast area is wonderful. I hope the family will continue to maintain this historic and delightful hotel.

It was charming. We saw the reviews after we booked the room and we were a bit scared. It couldn’t be further than the reality. It is not a modern hotel but you see it when booking. The hotel gave us everything we needed. We were happy especially abou the airco and the shower. We would definitely go back there. Location is superb. Would recommend.

The location was very nice next to the Lago di Lugano. The view over the lake from out of the hotelroom was great…

The bathroom was a bit outdated, with the showerhead on the wrong side of the bath and quite un-handy to use. The shampoo could also be better (I don’t like these little iron bags, there a bit “chemical”) The bathroom was very clean though…
