SwissTech Hotel

The room was rather spacious with a dry-keep window. The bed was OK with a good mattress. The bathroom had a convenient shower. Friendly receptionists. Free transportation cards were granted for all our stay. Free microwave oven and plates at the reception. Metro station close to the hotel, some 10-15-minutes ride to Lausanna-Flon. Two supermarkets next door.

The reception is closed between 20:30 to 06:30. A bedside lamp was broken and fell off at night, with live wires outside; it was not repaired until our check-out. The taps were outdated and it was hard to set a desirable water temperature. The window faced the metro depot and the noise began in the small hours. We could connect to Wi-Fi only with the help of receptionists; Wi-Fi stopped to work at night before our departure and there was no one to help until next morning.

We were pleased to be able to step from Metro car to hotel door with complete shelter from rain! The easy, direct trip downtown by Metro was a great advantage. Comfortable bed, quiet surroundings, restaurants and shop downstairs. Staff were remarkably helpful with several issues, very pleasant. Although the hotel bills itself as basic, it is very comfortable and convenient, and priced well below other hotels.

Hair dryer and iron/ironing board needed to be brought to room from reception rather than being provided in room. Breakfast is prohibitively expensive at 19 CH per person: close to $40 US for two people at the time of writing.

The spacious room, the cleanliness and the lovely staff member who greeted us were all positives.

Some of the information between booking.com and the hotel itself was incorrect. I intended to book for 4 people but was given a 3 bed room. This part was confusing. Also, there was a mixed message regarding breakfast as some information said we had to pay for breakfast so we bought our own but then saw other guests having breakfast without paying.

Good breakfast choice...continental and boiled eggs on offer as well good coffee....or an obligatory Swiss hot chocolate Arrived late due to flight times...train from GVA and change at Renens to take tram to EPFL...you then have 10m walk to the front door. Codes to unlock locker for access to keys easy to use

Not clear on arrival which level to go to...simple instruction in emails to say proceed to 4th floor by lift and ALL rooms are located on this floor.

The location is great for visiting EPFL or SwissTech Conference Center, and with the metro the Lausanne city center is just 10 minutes away. The room was spacious and clean, and mostly quiet (if it is on the garden side). There are stores nearby for anything you might need during your stay.

The breakfast is in the bakery downstairs and I feel like it is not diverse enough if you have extra dietary needs - and it feels overpriced. The staff and croissants were wonderful though!

Great location, close to EPFL and CECAM headquarters. Around the corner is a good Italian restaurant, and it is within walking distance from the lake. The tram stops in front of the hotel. Good sized room with excellent shower. Breakfast is good, with good coffee. Nice employees.

Airconditioning in the room. No one at the desk between 20h and 06h.

Very clean all around , reception staff very helpful . Great location for the conference centre and train station right outside my room although worried me at first , but trains very quiet and could hardly be heard when window and slats closed . Great amenities just outside hotel shops ,food etc .

The elevator is very small and experienced having to queue at entrance to get on lift to reception on 4th floor .. NO Tea/Coffee making facilities in my room . Coiled Wire hanging down from the Television , although Not dangerous it was very untidy and if children present it could have presented a hazard if pulled . Apart from BBC World news , there were NO English speaking Television Channels.

The rooms are spacious & clean and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast is simple but good. Moreover, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The location right at the EPFL/UNIL campus is great if you have to be there, and the connection to Lausanne centre is also very good with metro stop right out of the door.

Only one downside: there is no control over the room temperature and it's often a bit too warm for my taste.

Quiet, spacious and comfortable rooms. Very close to sporting facilities and supermarket. Walking distance from the lake. Polite staff. There is an electric tramway station next to the hotel but you hear no noise at all.

If you come with your car, the parking facilities are a bit distant and cost 20 CHF a night with the Hotel discount which you must ask for at the reception..

 the location was perfect at the heart of the EPFL. You can enter the tram right in front of the door.

There was no direct elevator access from the parking to the hotel hotel, you have to take some stairs. You cannot come directly to the reception with your car. There is a central air conditioning system, you cannot adjust the temperature in the room
