Hotel J Negombo

Great pool and location! Staff were extremely helpful whenever we needed anything and the breakfast shalshuka was delicious! The rooftop bar was also lovely and the rooms were comfortable. We loved how friendly the staff were to the stray dogs throughout most of our stay

On our last day we saw what I assume was the manager visit the hotel who insisted the stray dogs were scared away. There are only 2 or 3 that lounge around in the shade sometimes, not bothering guests, and are lovely, quiet dogs. This was extremely unnecessary as the dogs were clearly comfortable around the property, which was disrupted for no reason. It would be great if the very few dogs were able to use the hotels shaded areas again. BE KIND!

Nice staff. Clean room, generous balcony and nice pool area. We enjoyed!

The bed is very comfortable and the shower is good. Our first night was cold because we could not turn the very efficient air conditioner off. We spoke to the manager and he gave us a blanket which made a big difference and also fixed the air conditioner remote ( I think we were trying to use the remote from a distance and needed to get much closer- so our fault) . There are no tea or coffee facilities but we bought some and the manager have us a kettle, cups etc. There is no fridge in the room but we used the managers for our milk. Water is not supplied but you buy a bottle and then refill it. The breakfast was very good. This is a budget hotel but very comfortable and the manager very helpful. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and inviting! Beautiful view of the beach.

Lack of basic supplies to make tea or coffee and no fridge.

I loved everything about the hotel. The theme was so nice. The pool is not so big but clean and nice. The garden area was also clean and had a good view of the sea. The room has everything you'll need, decent bathroom facilities, with hot water in good working condition. The bed was so comfy. There is a working desk in the room and the balcony had a great view and chairs to sit and relax. The WiFi connection was great. The staffs were so friendly. The food was top notch and very reasonable for the price. So nearby the beach, you can visit and come back easily.

Could provide some room service.

Hotel J is so close to my heart. I have stayed in the hotel alone for weeks when i used to undertake content writing jobs. Security, comfortable rooms, well maintained property with a pool and a nice beach frontage, friendly staff, peace and tranquility, lovely authentic food all at a super reasonable price.. I came here after 5 years with family and glad to see nothing has changed except for a lovely rooftop bar being added.. cocktails were all made of locally sourced ingredients and no reheated old food is served. All freshly cooked authentic food.. Highly recommend this place ❤

There is honestly nothing that i didnt like.

Pool area was great. Had lounge chairs and bean bags and plenty of space. Rooftop had a great view on sunset! Staff were friendly. Yummy food (shakshuka was great!)

Building next door had a big party on the Saturday so loud music all day- didn’t bother me but if you were wanting peace and quiet just check there aren’t any events happening there.

in the pool . I saw many dogs drinking water , Then I was not use pool . in side hotel many dogs here and there . birds also There is no room service ,

They should provide at keast water bottles to the rooms if not they should refill the water dispensers.most of the time they were empty. Overall everything is fine.value for the money 🙂

Shower area was clogged resulted to flooding

I like the room view mostly sunset we can see nicely with great views. you can have a small beer with it. Rooms are very cleanly.

I do not like they are not having water bottles inside the room. and They did not catering the foods directly to the room.
