Paradise Road Tintagel Colombo

A beautiful property, with the most helpful and discreet staff I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Nothing was too much trouble. They made suggestions for what to eat (and where if we didn’t wish to eat at the hotel) but the food and drink we had at the hotel was exceptional. Wonderful leisure facilities - my fitness made use of the gym while I had a much needed massage. Situated in a lovely area, just a short tuk tuk ride or slightly longer walk into the city centre.

No gardens as such, but there is a large park nearby and it’s not that far to the sea front if you prefer to relax on a beach.

Paradise Road Tintagel was absolutely magical! My husband and I stayed here for our one year anniversary night. The staff left us a fresh fruit plate and an anniversary cake! We felt so pampered the whole time. We had a nice bubble bath and enjoyed the comfy robes and slippers. The facility is gorgeous and we loved our spacious room. All staff were so friendly and the breakfast was delicious! We highly recommend staying here. We wished we had more time to stay longer than one night!

Everything was wonderful!

The fact that the property is the ex president house made the house very special and luxurious .The staff very welcoming, the restaurant is amazing!!! I believe that they have best chef in Colombo, Rooms are very spacious, all of the details in the room were so different and antiques

Its not something that has to do with the hotel, but with The streets outside at night they are really dark, but there is security outside always.

This hotel is a beautiful piece of history, with large rooms and stunning communal areas that you could relax in all day. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic! We decided to have dinner at the hotel when we arrived as it was a slice of calm and luxury (just what we needed after travelling all day), in the busy city of Colombo. The food was great, as was the service! Great location for exploring the city.

The pool, the courtyard area around the pool and gym felt pretty un-inspiring and could probably do with an update… this however wouldn’t stop me staying here again.

We absolutely loved our huge suite. It was elegantly furnished and extremely comfortable. The breakfast at Paradise Road was fabulous. There were plenty of choices from Sri Lankan food to western. The boutique hotel offers something different to any discerning traveller.

All is good for such a small hotel.

The property has a wonderful colonial elegance and charm, it is set back from the road so nice and calm. The staff were great and the food was excellent, especially breakfast, if you enjoy spicy food for breakfast can absolutely recommend the Sri Lankan Hoppers (a kind of pancake) and Curry. The bedroom and bathroom were lovely, but the images on Booking for this room weren't right (the images were probably a much bigger suite than the one we got, but looking at the room dimensions advertised we got the right sized room)

There were a lot of Mosquitoes in public spaces, probably not much they can do about that but don't forget to bring repellant with you. There were a lot of fighting cats nearby so again not much the property could have done about it but we didn't get the restful nights sleep we had hoped for.

A wonderful hotel, with great history, in an ideal location. As a city stay hotel, this was perfect. Stepping in off the busy streets, the Tintagel is an oasis of calm and luxury. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the rooms were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Colombo.

Excellent breakfast and old world charm.

The door to the bathroom did not close as it was a pocket door and was stuck. This was uncomfortable as we were travelling with a teenage daughter. Also, the secondary room where they put the third bed had black mold visible above the doorway and it smelled moldy. Both of these were unexpected at the proce of the room compared to other properties available.

The history of the place is very interesting. Beautiful building. Housekeeper was very efficient and the staff in general were very good.

The artwork and decor is out of keeping in such a lovely building. Wall in our room was peeling off. it needed scraping and painting white.

This is the second time we have stayed and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Colombo. The staff are particularly attentive and very friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. It is a charming hotel which exudes history. Love it!!
