Monte Carmelo

Room was ready before check-in time. Modern, clean hotel with friendly staff. They make eye contact and smile every time you are present. Walking distance to all the main points, but at the same time a bit away from the crowds. Having a king bed was a plus! Coffeemaker and a small fridge in the room. Large shower. We were traveling by train and the taxi ride only took 12 minutes. Restaurants, coffee shops are right around the corner and the food is great. Grocery store is about 3 minutes walk. Great two-night stay! Highly recommend!

The hotel was beautiful and had just a very relaxing atmosphere to it. Additionally, the hotel staff were extremely kind and helpful. I had issues with an airline coming up, and the man who worked the desk took time out of his day to kindly help me with the situation. He made me feel like the hotel really cared about my experience, not just in the hotel, but for my vacation in Sevilla as a whole. Overall an amazing experience, especially for my first time travelling alone!

The room was more warm than I would have liked, and I had it on the coldest possible temperature. TO BE FAIR, I am an extremely hot sleeper-- even in USA where I sleep in a basement and have a fan going, I am hot at night. And in Spain in general it is not common to keep rooms cold. So this is something I dont like about Spain in general, not necessarily fault of the hotel.

If it were possible to rate the hotel by 11 points, I would do it with pleasure. The hotel exceeded our expectations in a great way. Everything is so smart and comfortable. The room has all amenities you need for a stay, the rooms are perfectly clean and the staff is extremely polite. We arrived by a car and had our windshield cleaned as a compliment each time we left the parking. The breakfast was just exclusively delicious: broad choice of local smoked fish, meat and cheeses, fruits, desserts, as well as local drinks (including sparkling wine) was offered. Each dish was also accompanied by a picture and its name in English and Spanish. We were also offered freshly fried churros each time.

Loved the super comfortable beds and pillows! Absolutely the best. Also really well equipped with everything you might need. Was pretty impressed! The lighting was well done, the Aircon worked well (very much needed when it's 45 degrees outside), and the quality of the bedding , bath towels etc was of a very high quality. Good attention to detail throughout the hotel.

I can't use this as a complaint per say, but it was a bit difficult to communicate sometimes with the reception staff as not all can speak English. (And for a 4 star Hotel in a popular tourist location I would say basic English is important.

The staff were so friendly and talkative. They helped me with every query I had and found solutions to any problems I had. They were super helpful with everything from nearest pharmacy, where is good to dine out, which bars were good to socialise, where to get the best sunset pictures, they gave me a map to find my way around. They were just brilliant. Alvaro, you are the best at what you do, keep smiling 😃 thank for making my time at Monte Carmelo a very good one!

we spent quite some time to find a good hotel for our stay in Sevilla. The decision to stay at Monte Carmelo was the best! Located in a not touristy part but still close to all attractions made it perfect as we like to mix with locals. The room is as described and shown on the pictures. Not too big not too small, very well equiped, clean and absolutely quiet. Last but by no means least a must to mention is the more than exceptional service of the reception staff. We received a very insightful introduction to the must see of Seville and they were more than happy to book attractions and/or lunch/dinner. We traveled a lot bit never found such a great and friendly service so far. This hotel is a definite must BOOK when visiting Seville.

The room was spacious and the bed really big for 2 people. Daily cleaning, very good breakfast with a lot of options. Hotel is in a good location, 15 minutes walk from city center. Even though it is on a main street, it was really quiet during the night. The staff was really polite and helpful.

The parking space is really narrow. It takes a lot of manoeuvres to park in there, even with a normal size car

good location,quiet, but not far to walk to-from city sights. The staff were friendly and professional. The hotel was exceptionally clean. Breakfasts were good, plenty choice and kept topped up. Fruit and other produce all fresh. Bedroom good size, no noise through night. Beds comfy shower excellent.

The air con didn’t work all the time, think it was. controlled from reception, so room was quite warm, we opened the window which did help. Also could not get our safe to work, did complain but never got it sorted.

This was a gem of a place. Very clean and comfortable. The pillows were not great, but the bed was. The sheets and towels were very clean and crisp to the point of being a bit too crisp. The towels also retained some of that strong cleaning product smell - but it just showed me that they take hygiene very seriously. Good sized room and great bathroom. The staff were very friendly and professional. The breakfast had plenty of good options to choose from. Would certainly stay there again.

Good breakfast could have done with more healthy options - Bircher, granola with yoghurt, prunes etc but can’t complain! Maybe some other milk options (non dairy) and some juices or breakfast smoothie options?

The snacks and room service on offer was limited and having been told snacks were served from 7pm I’d been expecting sandwiches and a small selection but found out this wasn’t in fact the case so the first night I turned up to a wedding drinks reception having not eaten and was forced to find the greasiest local food imaginable at the end of the night
