B&B HOTEL Barcelona Mataro

The staff was friendly. The room was nice and clean. The air conditioning was a life saver. The breakfast was really nice and worth the money, which is not always the case in most B&Bs, but here we were very satisfied. We loved the view from our window, and the bed was really comfortable.

The only thing I didn't like was that the housekeeping entered the room even though we put the not disturb sign, but that was only once, so it's not a big deal.

The breakfast was excellent. For us like vegetarians was the choice also sufficiently, especially the natural yoghurt, the nuts, chia-seed, all the different milks and fresh orange juice ! There is for parking also a free possibility and we like that also. We visit your hotel because our children are living in the neighbourhood of your hotel. We like also the short distance to go to Mataró by feed.

2* hotel, but looks like 4*. I was impressed by the big rooms, very comfortable bed, big hall at the entrance, great location close to the sea, futuristic design, very clean and amazing helpful staff. The breakfast was basic, but good quality. They have a parking lot underground, which costs 7 euro a day, but if you park in the city it's much more. I was happy that the car was safe there. Amazing value for money.

This is a beautiful, newly built hotel with nice and helpful staff. The breakfast was very good and our room was also tidy and as per our expectation.

The only disadvantage is the location which is a bit far from Barcelona city center, but with a train or night bus you can reach it relatively easily (though this will take more than 30mins). Still I think at its price, this a very good accomodation and might worth traveling a bit for this.

Very quiet and clean room which was just what we needed or our short stay. Not 5 star but the price is not 5 star either. Good basic accommodation which works if you are planning to be out in the day and just requiring a comfortable bed to sleep in (we were in the cheapest room so if you pay more it might be more glamorous).

No tea and coffee making facility in the room. USB charging point would be nice. Day receptionist not very friendly but was efficient. Morning person on check out had more smiles.

A nice B&B for a short stay, clean and comfy. The breakfast was not the best, lots of flies (please just cover the food with a fly net) and the driest cucumbers I've ever seen. The staff was friendly and spoke good english.

Breakfast - would be great without all the flies and with some more and better veggies.

Facilities and decor are very modern. The hotel is extremely clean with daily room service. Staff were exceptionally friendly and made you feel like home. Air conditioning was brilliant and a godsend during the 36 degree heatwave we encountered. 24/7 reception desk was very convenient. Bed was large and comfortable albeit mattress kept slipping away. Beach is a 5 min walk from the hotel which is great! To get to Barcelona city it's a 20 min journey by train. However, train station is a 15-20 min journey on foot from the hotel. Overall I highly recommend the hotel.

TV wasn't working on the first day, however as soon as we reported it an employee came to fix it immediately and it was fine for the remainder of our stay. Mattress on the bed kept slipping and we were short of pillows. But again the pillow issue was fixed immediately and they brought us spare ones all the way to our room. No fridge in the room.

The public restrooms in reception were really dirty.. . And breakfast.... If you arrive early it is okay but if you need a sleep in and come down and hour later... Not much selection and things not replaced unless you ask...

This was the fourth time I stayed in this hotel and since the previous time in 2019 it seems to have changed owner as it was an Ibis hotel earlier. The hotel remains extremely good value also as B & B hotel, including the more than reasonable price for parking and breakfast respectively. The beds are particularly comfortable. The location is good, easy to reach by car and close to beaches and with a supermarket just some 100 metres away. The reception team is a young crowd which invariably was very friendly (even friendlier than during Ibis times).

The breakfast was very good given the price of 6 Euros, but comparing to Ibis time the selection was somewhat reduced. This could possibly have something to do with Covid measures, but I do not know. For example, from previous visits I missed the very fresh fruit salad that was now gone. A word of caution about the parking; like in many parking houses in the area, the parking spots are rather narrow and if one drives a somewhat larger car one also needs to pay attention that one does not park in such a spot that it will be difficult to get out if other cars later park next to (on the side) and behind the parking spot one has chosen.

We have stayed in this hotel many times when it belonged to the Accor group as an Ibis hotel. Recently acquired by its new owner at the moment nothing much has changed and it still remains a good value for money location.

The only thing which the new owner has not got right and which Ibis did better is the quality of its breakfast offering. Extremely disappointing. As, from the reports we have read, we are not the only customers to have noticed this we would hope that they would rectify this. Otherwise we shall be looking elsewhere to stay in future.
