DO Plaça Reial powered by Sonder

The hotel is right in the middle of Barcelona. 30 second walk from La Rambla and on Placa Reial. It opens onto one of the nicest squares in all of Barcelona, and has good restaurants all around. It is walking distance to all the main attractions in the city. Our room (14) has by no doubt, the best shower I have ever used! The room was clean and very well presented. Although the temperature in Barcelona was no conducive for using the roof top terrace with pool, I imagine it will be absolutely fantastic in the summer!

We have no "proper" points to make here, as these are so small and were easily sorted by the excellent staff, but.. 1. A few spare loo rolls in the room would be good. But on the flip side, the room has shampoo, Conditioner, and 2 x different shower gels FOC! 2. The room TV is modern and excellent, but almost zero channels unless you have an Amazon Prime or Netflix account. (We had both, so as I say, I am really scratching around!) 3. The room has a power system whereby some of the plugs are always live and some only when set. First night we were caught out..! But we should have read the sheet explaining it properly!

The location is the best part of the hotel. Located in the heart of the city. Friendly staff, offered a lot of advice regarding transportation and city attractions.

Breakfast was the same every morning. We stayed for 5 nights so we ended up having breakfast somewhere else on one occasion just to eat something different for once. The room felt hot at night we didn’t sleep very well because of this we woke up from feeling too hot unfortunately they couldn’t resolve this for us despite the staff’s efforts. Again we had been there for 5 nights even a fan would have been appreciated but they didn’t have one. I reserved a king deluxe room and it was changed to a double balcony room for some reason without letting me know.. The king room costs more so maybe it is on a higher floor where the air control works better? I was told that the air conditioning problem is on the 2nd floor only so that was a little disappointing considering the price we paid.

Location was great in the middle of lots of action, breakfast choice was reasonable,better if you were not a resident!! Hotel is a bit tired it needs a bit of a revamp, expected more of a five star hotel.The outside terrace is its saving grace,nice place to sit and have drinks & watch the world go by,although for the 5 days we are there they did not have tonic!!

The hotel lobby is very small with the bar area, & very warm with little or no air conditioning judt s large fan to keep you cool. The rooms & bathrooms are tired & need to be refitted. The pool is really just a foot bath for the pigeons and very unwelcoming, as is the roof top bar, very poor,not a place you would want to sit, poor facilities & not pleasant.

The staff were absolutely amazing, super helpful and very accomodating. Special thanks to Henry & Beatrice who were extremely professional, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Hotel was in a brilliant location with good metro links to visit the rest of the city. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the food we had for breakfast was very nice.

We felt that some of the facilities were a little bare minimum given the 5* status of the hotel. Only two coffee pods were provided each day. The rooftop pool was a nice touch but didn't look very clean due to the pigeons - although this would be hard to prevent! The bar drinks were lovely but very expensive compared to the surrounding options. We paid 35 euros for a double G&T and Whiskey which seems extortionate! Overall this didn't spoil the experience though!

The night staff is the best staff of any five-star hotel I have ever stayed in. Period. it’s just the best hotel in Barcelona. The best area in Barcelona. I’ve stayed here in two separate trips to BCN, and would have stayed again if it wasn’t booked up.

The street at night, like super late - 3-5AM is still not quiet. Don’t come here if you’re a light sleeper.

I booked it last minute, I wondered how good it could be due to the very reasonable price. Pictures looked fantastic, and I knew location was going to be good as knew where it was in Barcelona. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, when showed our room I couldn’t believe it, honestly one of the nicest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in, large corner room with balconies looking straight over placa reial, huge four poster bed, lovely furniture, lovely decoration, huge spacious bathroom. Wonderful high ceiling. Perfect room and the noise from the square you could barely hear because of double glazing. Definitely staying hear again and have already recommended it to others!

The location was fabulous! Very central to everything! Room and bathroom were spacious. Desk staff were very friendly & helpful. Good soundproofing from noise in the communal square beneath.

Our bathroom lights weren’t working properly. They organised a repairman but he was unable to fix it. The cooked breakfast was nice but unfortunately by the time we got given it, it was cold. We did ask could they make it hotter but it never really came out hot! I drink black tea but the only tea available was flavoured tea.

The hotel location, rooms, room facilities, design and feel was exceptional. High ceilings, stunning views over the Placa Real, amazing space, amazing bathrooms, fabulous design everywhere. Staff were warm and relaxed (and relaxing) and couldn't do more to help.

The breakfast, while perfectly good for a business hotel felt like less thought went into it than other aspects of the hotel. Likewise, it's not somewhere you should plan to eat dinner - there are so many amazing eateries in the city.

The rooms are very spacious with high ceilings, and a lovely view of the square. With the windows closed it was very quiet, even with people in the square until late hours of the morning. The location is perfect for seeing anything in Barcelona, with the metro station a short walk away. The room and common areas are modern and well-maintained, and very clean. I am totally impressed with the size of the rooms and how comfortable the beds are. Staff throughout the hotel were very friendly, from the front desk to restaurant staff. After staying in Barcelona a few times, I would stay at this hotel again.

I loved the room i was staying in, in big part because of the private pool on the terrace with a city view. But the inside of the room/bathroom was also nice and comfortable. The room cleaning was efficient and kept the room clean. I liked the decoration and style. The staff was very nice and the overall service efficient.

This booking is actually with another app that you need to do your checkin on which includes creating an account etc. Once at the hotel you’re supposed to use the app to do things but it doesn’t offer anything other than basic information. I only discovered there was room service on the last day after talking with the staff. Overall this hotel is great but they just need to print out a little information pamphlet instead of forcing people to use a qr code that open a badly coded app that can’t even give me the number to use to call reception. The hotel’s great, the app you’re forced to use not so much.
