El Plantío Golf Resort

Good hotel close to Alicante Airport. Rooms are quite large and the hotel has good facilities too.

Check the price of a taxi from the hotel back to the airport before booking one!

the hotel is always very pleasant, the swimming pool very well maintained, the breakfast impeccable, my rental perfect. the cleaning (in particular done by Sati) very good. the restaurant staff always available and very friendly and above all very professional. finally the beautifully maintained green spaces. Thank you for this very pleasant and relaxing stay.

the gym is not maintained, many devices are broken or not maintained and not repaired. the room lacks ventilation, it is not possible to do sports after 10 a.m., it is too hot. which is dangerous for health (risk of heart failure). air conditioning is essential. I was not able to take advantage of the gym, although it is an important service. do you think you will do anything to improve this next year?

THE BEDS!! This was a lovely resort, far away from the hustle and bustle. Don't be put off by the location near the airport, as it was hardly noticeable. Pools were amazing, great for swimming and with areas completely separate for children. The breakfasts were great, and hygiene was very noticeable and staff were very mindful of social distancing and masks etc. The apartment was really spacious, and did I mention the BEDS???? Oh my goodness, I've never slept in a more comfortable bed! Cannot wait to return!

There were a couple of things which needed to be addressed in our apartment but I would not say that it affected our stay, and I would imagine that under normal circumstances these would have been addressed already by the staff.

Breakfast was great. Very large choice of foods….the only negative is the warm food did not stay hot very long. Possibly need to upgrade the heat lamps. Overall very tasty and good quality The Family Apartment was huge and suited 4 adult golfers, great balcony, spacious, air con was amazing !

As a mentioned before the hot food could have stayed warmer for longer. Rooms although clean are perhaps in need of a bit of decoration, looking a bit tired, as was the render on the outer walls… just needs a makeover…. But that doesn’t take away the enjoyment we had… very suitable for our needs

The rooms were lovely, apartments so me and all My friends were together in same room, they was huge and clean, very lovely. Breakfast and dinner was good, there wasn’t much variety however always something that I could eat, it was small in the restaurant buffet area but again it did the job and I was happy. The pool was lovely also very quiet but lovely didn’t have her up early to reserve beds.

The gym wasn’t well maintained - all Machines broken, and had to walk 600m to the gym which wasn’t really clear on website. Location was ok, but nowhere near shops 20 euros taxi to Alicante town

Good for the money, middle of nowhere which was fine as we knew that, didn't know they were relaying all the roads in centre of alicante so made the taxi rides a bit laborious.

Taxi service ftom alicante back to resort can be a long wait in queues in the heat, puts you off going out. Resort should have a food shop on site for essentials. Bar never had any ice cream choice in stock when we were there. Cant even buy packet of crisps or nuts at the bar. We have come three times but looking a bit shabby these days. Apartments could be better maintained.

The breakfast was really nice. Something for everyone. It did get very bizzey? But if you got there before 0900 you mostly got a table. The location is very handy for the airport? But you really need a car if you want to get out and about. The reception are very helpful and will order you a taxi. They are good.

There could have been more sunloungers around the pool and maybe some nice spanish music playing in the background !

The hotel is beautiful, we were blown away by the rooms. So spacious, clean, lovely big balcony Food in cafe bar was really reasonably priced and gorgeous food! Breakfast was lovely too. Pool area was gorgeous but there was wasps all over the smaller pool. They didn’t bother us but could put someone off. But water was gorgeous The restaurant/pool bar is nice,the food we had was gorgeous and really affordable, I didn’t try the al a carte.

We only stayed for one night as a stopover so was fine for us but I wouldn’t stay there without a car. Alicante town is 20mins away in taxi. Nearest shop is 10 min drive away. If it was more central i would definitely return. Also no entertainment at night. Could have done with even a bit of pool side music in the eveninin the eating area

Liked the resort itself, location was great and swimming pools were nice.

The gym was 400m away from the reception which was a bit inconvenient. It had no AC, which made it very unpleasant to do workout in 35 degrees heat. The gym was very dirty, the equipment was old and torn. Overall, the facility looked nothing like on the pictures. Definately needs a severe makeover. The housekeeping do a very good job and are very helpfull and nice. Efficient at cleaning and were very attentive so 5/5 stars to them 👌 The overall condition of the rooms however need some attention. The sofas were old a not nice at all. Several defects in the room that need attention.

6 of us stayed at El Plantio for 10 days in June 2022.We had a 2 bedroom apartment for our elderly mum and a three bedroom apartment for the 5 of us. This was our second visit and we love this place. it is perfect for us. Our accommodation was perfect. The staff are friendly and very helpful at all times. Especially Emma!! The poolside bar is good and the drinks are reasonable. The meals in the hotel in the evening are much more high brow and may not be to everybody's taste, saying that all the standard offerings during the day are available at night as well. We ate in Alicante most nights so it wasn't an issue and I liked the food myself anyway. We went to the local supermarket "Carrefour" by taxi to stock up on water and general treats for during the day. There is no shop onsite, but this is not the sort of place that would have a shop, its classy. The bar sells ice creams but no chocolate or crisps for the kids. I would recommend you download the pidetaxi app if there are more than three of you. Taxis into Alicante will only take three people at a time unless the taxi is a 6 seater. Ordering two taxis into Alicante at night can set you back €40 a night one way...The pidetaxi App allows you specifically order a 6 seater, this also allows you hail a taxi in Alicante by dropping a location pin and they come to you. The castle on the mountain overlooking Alicante is an interesting trip but do use a taxi to get there. We also did Alicante Gocarting and the Jetskis and powerboating in the Marina, both a bit pricey for what you got. The golf course at El Plantio is nice. It is straight and wide. When we were here before the greens were lovely and true, this time they had just been hollow tined and they were so slow and bobbly. You should get a buggy if you are playing after 10. All in all Loved the place and will definitely stay here again.

Like I said in a review a few years ago more pillows :-)
