Hotel Miracorgo

Our Standard double room with small balcony & breakfast was great, we had a spectacular view of the Rio Corgo Gorge which was enhanced at night by floodlights. Our room came with breakfast, a comfortable bed, air conditioning, shower over the bath, TV, wardrobes and a small fridge. The balcony was large enough for us both to sit outside and enjoy an afternoon beverage. The hotel has 2 indoor pools the larger being 16 metres long, a very well equipped modern gym and outdoor sun leaners on the terrace and by the pool. The staff were great, very accommodating to our needs and friendly. We based ourselves here to visit the Douro Valley (no car) and being an easy 900 metre walk to the bus station to get to Regua, the valley and the MiraDouro Train made that easy. Great location.

The hotel, while a bit older, is very well maintained and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and the free underground parking was appreciated. Breakfast included all the essentials such as scrambled eggs, a selection of breads, fruits, pastries, cheese, coffee etc. We really liked the location as it is a 5 min walk to centre of town and many restaurants. Also the view from our room was excellent as it overlooked the river valley behind the hotel. The bathroom was also nice, clean and worked well. Overall, a great stay

The room was a bit on the warm side as the heating was still active and the system hadn't been switched over to AC. There was a window in the room but not having bug screens we chose not to open the window but shut off the heating system instead.

The Gym (and Pool) area was amazing. For sime reason this hotel does not advertise any photos of their gym and the gym is excellent compared to many hotel gyms. There was a huge mutlistation with lege press, pull down, low cable, chin up bar, dip/low ab, chest press and there was a dumbell rack up to 20kgs and a Sith Machine without a counter weight on the bar plus 50 kgs in plates. Also Cardio bikes and treads etc . the indoor pool area was also excellent with plenty of seats inside, outside and upstairs. Breakfast was basic continental but still nice. The room we had on the 4th floor was clean with plenty of space. The Hotel is close to the center and very convenient. the staff were friendly and spoke enough English to help us out when we needed it. I recommend Genki Douro Sushi Restaurant close by, all you can eat and the staff are really friendly.

No iron or ironing board! But they have a laundry service which wasn't any good for me as I arrived in the evening and had a meeting first thing in the morning. A hotel of this standard should be able to provide an iron.

It's not a new hotel but it is very well maintained. The room was comfortable with a nice balcony and the bathroom was a good size. The bed was so comfortable that we seriously considered booking an extra night so we could stay in bed for the day... Really! It was that good! The hotel also has 2 fantastic balconies adjacent to the foyer and breakfast/restaurant room with a really good view of the river gorge and is close to the new walkway - which I would recommend trying as it's really good. We really enjoyed our stay and they were kind enough to let keep our car in the carpark during the following day while we cycled the ecopista... Nice parrot too..

Family member was in hospital in Vila Real so it was handy for that and near to restaurants bars and shops with spectacular scenery at the rear. All staff were efficient and helpful. Breakfast was very good with good choice.

No hospitality tray in the room with tea coffee etc. No English breakfast tea option at breakfast.

this hotel is managed and run perfectly throughout the years, i love coming back to this place the rooms, the pool, the view, the bar, the members of hotel staff, everything is great, you can feel a wonderful heritage of this place, whether you are coming as a family for a vacation or you travel solo for work thank you, miracorgo

Friendly helpful staff. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Comfortable beds and generous breakfast delivered to our room (because of covid) at the requested time. For the rate we paid I wasn't expecting such a gorgeous view of the river. Lovely sized pool and smaller childrens pool. Sauna, shower and toilets just for the pool. Underground private car park.

The only disappointment for my children was the indoor pool was freezing cold and not heated. My wife was disappointed that the sauna was off and there was no information about what time it would be in use, if it was closed because of covid restrictions or if we needed to book a time with the reception desk.

I could not start my rental car in front of the hotel. A gentleman, I think he was a hotel manager, came to help me. He checked the car and told me I need to add “adgreen” which I never heard of. He drove me to a gas station to buy adgreen, and helped me add into tank. Then I could start the car. He’s so nice and I appreciate his help.

This is the second time I've stayed here in the last few months and it was as good as last time. Clean and well maintained and the Christmas decorations inside and out gave a lovely festive feel. On our previous visit breakfast was delivered to the room but this time the restaurant was open and it didn't disappoint. There was lots of choice, something for everyone and a beautiful view from the restaurant. The staff worked hard to ensure everything was covid safe and were very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast offered was both full English and continental style buffet and provided a lot of choice. The dinner menu was very good but we decided to eat at a local Portugese restaurant. The staff were hospitable and very helpful. The view over teh canyon behind the hotel was spectacular. Parking was secure.
