Palácio Estoril Hotel, Golf & Wellness

Absolutely stunning hotel from the moment you pull up outside to walking into your room and the grounds outside. The breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and everything is replenished on a regular basis, the restaurant staff look after you very well. The beds around the pool are very comfy and the rooms are just perfect, beautiful clean bedding, shower gels and shampoo etc replenished every day.

The service in the bar and around the pool was absolutely appalling. If it was the off meal or drink that we had a problem with then fair enough but it was every time you made an order it was ages before you got it. The food was sometimes an hour and that was f they hadn't forgotten what you ordered in the first place! They must be losing a fortune around the pool and in the bar as they are just far too slow.

Hotel Palacio is an outstanding place to stay. It is well managed, the staff are friendly and working together effectively. We have been told that they are short on employees, but this did not affect us negatively in any way. We loved the pool (although some "friendly" people drop their towels to reserve their spots before breakfast and do not show up before 11am or so). Breakfast is simply excellent, and we also enjoyed the bar. Housekeeping is fantastic, and everybody speaks English well. We had a room with sea view (pool side) with a balcony which was a great choice. The spa can be reached through a tunnel, and it offers quite some relaxing amenities.

There is some sort of night club nearby which plays loud music every (!) night until 6am - not only on the weekends. It is obviously not the hotel's fault, but if you like to sleep with your windows open you might want to ask for a room opposite to the pool side (that would be the side of the main entrance then).

Location, facilities and especially the staff make this a fabulous place to stay. The breakfast was outstanding and food in restaurants (Terrace and Four Seasons) was incredible. Definitely worth looking up the history of this hotel as well as it will enhance your experience.

Don't change anything - this hotel is perfect as it is!

Take care of the place. It’s hard (and expensive) to keep up good standards on an old property, but do a little more effort, the old lady deserves it. Open the pool bar and don’t let the pour servants run til they collapse, that way the guests will be able to order more and the hotel will earn more. Can’t say I dislike anything actually. Will come back :-)

My husband wanted to stay at this hotel because it featured in one of the Bond movies. It is an absolutely beautiful hotel and didn’t disappoint. The swimming pool area is magnificent with plenty of comfortable sun beds, a convenient bar and a very good pool attendant. The breakfast was delicious, so much choice and a beautiful setting. It was very easy to get from the hotel into Cascais for more sightseeing, eats and drinks. Only a mile or two and a few euros in an Uber.

The first evening we were there we decided to have a meal in the terrace restaurant as it looked like a great setting overlooking the pool and had a nice menu. We had terrible service which was so disappointing as overall the service in the hotel was good. There was a big event going on in one of the suites so it seemed most of the staff had been deployed to that. Had we known we would have gone out to eat.

If you are looking for a calm&relaxing time around the outside pool, then this is not the hotel for you : there is a big park right next to the hotel, where a lot of activities are held. The music/noise coming from the park is unbearable. The day the park was calm, the grass was cut in the hotel garden, and there was a live dj performance by the pool in the afternoon! We also spent an afternoon with a generator noise (?) on the street. Also, make sure you don’t get a room next to the lift, which makes a lot of noise during the night when in use.

The room type we reserved on the internet did not in any way resemble the first one we were assigned. The very helpful reception manager offered us a much better one with a nice view. We were very satisfied. The double beds were the very old tiny ones. Large doubles are available in suites . The bed was comfortable and neither of us fell off in the night. Due to the age of the hotel, the room was stuffy and warm, so opening the windows helped.

Shower - takes 10-15 mins to heat the water (feels criminal to let it run that long) and the drainage was poor so kept flooding Need a professional coffee barista - coffee was below standard

The hotel itself is luxe and gorgeous. The grounds, the pool, the bar, rooms and common areas all make you feel like royalty. The staff that was there, were great. We LOVED TONY! The night-time General Manager is the best.

Unfortunately due to the staffing shortage, it was difficult to get fast service at any of the bars, restaurants or by the pool. In fact, getting a drink or meal from your pool chair was basically impossible. It's no fault of the hotel - it's just the state of things right now.

Loved the elegant outdoor pool, the Spa massage pool and the breakfast feast both included in the room price, the friendly bar, the friendly and helpful staff who actually listen to you to make sure you are enjoying your visit. The delicious fries and cocktails served to you by the pool from the Terrace. Comfortable room, spotless bathroom with real soap. All the little touches that are there even though you didn't know you would appreciate them (various glasses for use in the room - not plastic, seats outside the pool showers to wait for friends, beautiful garden vistas from the cosy sofas inside, foreign newspapers in the lounge, a plethora of sprinkle toppings at breakfast and delicious fresh fruit; free bar welcome drink when you visit, quiet and peaceful hallways and public lounges) make this place a pleasure to return to every time. The list is long! The Palacio has class and elegance without being condescending. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The cheap quality shower caps, the only false note for me.
