breakfast was ok but can be improved

i had a late flight and hirecar collection (always long + tedious) so was worried i wouldn't be able to chek in but they promptly sent me details for secure entry and parking which were perfect, no problems getting into my room that late. The location was ideal for me, half way to where i was driving the next day after such a late flight. Also, you have no idea that oasis of peace and serenity is behind those locked gates on a 'main' road. don't let that description put you off, a main road in Estoi is quiet anyway but waking up to a tremendous view and a pool to yourself ... what's not to love and who knew! the room was spacious with aircon, two small single beds so you can push together if needed. window shutters but left it open to my mosquito detriment as wanted to hear the crickets and feel the warm breeze. breakfast was a great selection and there were hot options available too. am not a breakfast person so filled my face with fresh tasty watermelon and coffee. The staff was extremely helpful and showed me access routes to the pool etc. Great place for a night, only wish i was staying for longer to enjoy an evening by the pool and wake up again to that view. i didn't try all of the facilities so can't comment further. would happily stay again for sure.

the drains in the bathroom had a drainy smell but other than that was clean and tidy and you couldn't smell it from the bedroom. imagine that's normal in old properties.

Only 15 mins by car from Faro and 10 from their airport Vila Milreu is in located in the small village of Estoi, away from the tourist hustle and bustle of tourist life. Ana and Joana are so friendly and accommodating, welcoming you in as part of the family with the run of the house. We were too late to book the one apartment so had a room including a sofa bed for our daughter. We were able to use the kitchen to prepare snacks and lunches which we then ate at the dining table by the pool or in the sofa corner. Once finished we just put the dishes in their dishwasher. I was impressed with the facilities for recycling (every little helps). An honesty bar is available in the TV/snooker/pool room or an honesty ice/drinks fridge by the pool. A clothes horse for drying your swim suits and towels. A pingpong table if you're feeling energetic. Secure parking. We hired a car two days in to explore the area further. Breakfast was a treat with fresh juice and fruit, a variety of bread and pastries, milk to suit all needs, eggs and bacon for those who can't live without. Vila Milreu exceeded our expectation. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be back.

Nothing we didn't like. A suggestion for improvement for us would be to have a chair or something in the bedroom, somewhere to leave our clothes on when getting ready for bed - we don't always want to tidy things into the wardrobe. :-)

An absolute gem of a guesthouse close to Faro/nearby beaches! Stunning decor, fabulous spacious family room, and outdoor pool area stunning - we relaxed in it all day! We stayed for 2 nights and Joanna and her sister were so lovely and helpful, excellent and quick communication and cooked an absolutely delicious breakfast! Excellent security and parking, we would definitely stay again.

There is an honesty box for drinks by the pool which could have a bit more variety but otherwise nothing! Stay was superb!

Lovely place, just up the road from the Roman ruins at Milreu (with their amazing fish mosaics); close to no 65 bus stop to Faro (took about 25 minutes - Euro 3.55 single) and 0-15 walk to Estoi Palace and gardens. Property has been recently renovated, so everything's new apart from a few rather nice pieces of antique furniture. Pool area is lovely with a cosy seated area plus plenty of sun loungers - catches the sun throughout the day. Other nice features were table tennis and pool tables. Very good breakfast spread, especially enjoyed fresh orange juice (picked direct from garden).

Large room overlooking the pool. Secure gated parking. Good breakfast with made to order eggs. TV had lots of English channels. Huge bathroom with large new bathtub. In fact, the whole house seemed to be newly constructed or recently renovated. Everything modern and clean. The pool area is inviting but it happened to be raining the day I was there. The location is between the Roman site and the pousada Palace. Otherwise, not too much in town, but a good stopping place to enjoy a highly rated accommodation.

The place was very classy and clean. The team were pleasant and approachable, with a nice family vibe in the house (their own little kids popping in). The pool was sublime as was the garden. My kids enjoyed the pool toys too. Helpful we could use the kitchen.

Upon booking I didn't know the guesthouse was on the main road into the village. Lots of cars whizzing by. Unfortunately our room was facing the road. Wasn't as peaceful as I was hoping for, especially to wake up to. The pool is round the back and the road noise is drowned out by the water fountain. There wasn't much to see in Estoi itself, so all our dinners were in Faro which takes 15 mins to drive to.

The house is very beautiful and the staff is awesome. It is very clean and there is a beautiful pool. The flowers and garden are very nice. Estói (the village where it is located) is very charming.

Nothing, only thing is that you need a car to go everywhere in the region (but this is everywhere in Algarve if you want to see a lot of things in different cities/villages)

We had a lovely time here! Ana and her family / team members have done a wonderful job in their work to refurbish this older home and marry the quality of the old with the stylings of the new. Their care and attention shows everywhere - the craftsmanship in the home, the choice of furniture, the superb landscaping, the cleanliness of all areas, the well designed pool and lounge area, and the top notch breakfast. We highly recommend to everyone looking for a get away of any length of time.

The place is immaculate and beautiful with a lovely clean pool and relaxing surroundings. The staff were attentive and helpful throughout. all the homely comforts you could ask for.

Struggling to find anything, the only thing is we stayed and didn't drive so used Ubers/taxi's throughout the stay which sometimes we struggled in getting due to its less touristy location.
