The Albatroz Hotel

A very good hotel with close and easy access to the beach and the town centre. Good breakfast, lunches and restaurant. Our rooms were very nice overlooking the pool and sea.

The location is right above the public beach, so you can expect noise from people on the beach below the terrace and the pool. The bathrooms are good but could do with an upgrade to a walk-in shower (instead of shower over bath) and more modern taps. Sun loungers starting to show their age. The website says the pool is heated - it is not - it was freezing cold in May

From the start at Booking dear José Mascarenhas confirmed the stay and reached out to me to help with all the bookings and preparation for my 40th birthday celebration that was held at the Hotel. Boat trip, Lunch bookings and accommodations was all organized to satisfaction. This hotel is amazing. Fantastic spaces, great location and the service is absolutely the best. The Restaurant manager and his staff took excellent care of us specially during our celebratory lunch on may the 2nd at the terrace. My dress broke and the amazing Luca secretly passed me a sewing kit. We had amazing food, drinks and caviar. All we wanted they arranged. Made everyone feel special and taken care of. Vegan and Vegetarian options where great also. Whatever we needed during our stay was taken care of. We got the best rooms and had the absolute best experience ever. My guest and I highly recommend Albatroz and we will come back her every year from now on. This is a place in the heart of Cascais where everyone is welcome and where the service is exceptional. I cant thank everyone enough for making our stay so special. I am forever grateful.

Nothing. It was all just perfect.

Exceptionally good service. The staff who work at the hotel especially the waiters and bar tenders were so good at their jobs. They are true professionals and noting was a problem for them. I had booked for a special birthday and they were lovely to us with cakes and even happy birthday singing. The food in the restaurant is very good and it would be unusual that we want to stay in the same place for 5 days for lunch. I think this hotel is small enough to be personable. The surroundings are beautiful and the location is the best. Thanks to the fabulous team who really know how to look after guests. I would look forward to going back and that’s a new one for me as I like to stay in different places and have been to Cascais 6 times but this hotel was the best.

No negatives.

Above all else - the location. You could not find a better location in Cascais. Then, the small surprises: wine in the room, a chocolate Easter Egg (it was Easter). The room is reasonably sized and the sounds of the waves in the morning is incredibly relaxing. The free internet connection was also great. The breakfast is absolutely lovely. The hotel looks better in reality than it does in the photos.

For some reason, Portuguese people don't seem to smile back very often. The room could use a wardrobe. I was surprised Nata wasn't on the breakfast menu. Finally, they should really embrace p-traps in Cascais sinks.

You have to stay here! It was a 10/10 from beginning till end. The location is just the best you will find in Lisbon, 30 seconds to all amenities, you are literally on the beach and 30 mins in Central Lisbon on the overground train (€2.50) just few steps outside the front of the hotel. The actual hotel is spotless, you could not see one thing out of place or dirty (pristine!) It’s a really cute and quaint decor very Art Deco, very comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast was a 10/10, the view whilst having your delicious breakfast was unique - glistening sea and sun. There was not one thing I didn’t love about my experience here, this is 100% the place to stay - treat yourself and book it :)

Absolutely nothing! Faultless - perfect place to stay a real luxury.

The location was perfect by the sea. The interior is nice and charming. Overall, it was a good and comfortable stay.

The staff at the front were very basic in how they treated us. They never greeted us whenever we walked into the hotel. There's no warmth in how they deal with their clients at the front desk (i.e., I would expect a more welcoming attitude). That said, the staff at the restaurant and during breakfast time were nice and professional. The hotel is old. It's well maintained, but expect to go in a really old elevator and not have a ventilator in your toilet. Very small windows in the bedrooms. If you like the old feel, then this is the right hotel. I would expect way more from a breakfast in a five-star hotel! It was basic! That said, the service is good.

We loved our experience at the Albatroz Hotel! From the moment we arrived we were treated as welcomed guests. From the doorman to the guest service agent to the restaurant staff, each person was open, professional, and happy to help. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday AND our 30th anniversary so we were delighted to discover we had a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, a hand-written note from the Albatroz PLUS an amazing view awaiting us in our guest room.

The room was huge, with a balcony overlooking the beach. Bathroom was very spacious. Toiletries were lovely. Breakfast had good selection and view was amazing. Very easy to find from the train station with a big yellow sign pointing the way, only 5 minutes walk. Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance.

It would have been good to have a coffee machine in the room, so you could sit on the balcony and enjoy the view with a hot drink in the morning. The curtains didn't pull back properly which made it tricky to get out onto the balcony.

My husband and I stayed at the Albatroz for our wedding. It was the most beautiful and romantic stay. When we got back to our room that night there was a bottle of sparkling wine waiting for us as a congratulations. The breakfast by the sea side was great every morning. The view of the ocean from our room was perfection. The whole stay was a dream and we can’t wait to go back.

Absolutely fantastic hotel through and through- location is lovely, right on a great beach for all sorts of activities (kayaking to chilling to whatever). Hotel is very clean with excellent furnishings and thoughtful attention to detail. The staff was absolutely wonderful-- super kind and thoughtful. Really exceptional service. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was one of the best we've ever had in a hotel. On top of all that, they put out bowls and beds for our dog. Can't wait to come back!
