Hotel Alexander

It was not the first time I booked a room at Hotel “Alexander”, I like for its perfect location and good service. But this time we were unlucky… though we had a reservation, we could not stay at the hotel due to unforeseen technical problems and repair work there. However, thanks to the impeccable work of the hotel administration, we were offered 4-star accommodation in a nearby hotel where we were taken by taxi. The price difference was covered by the cost of Hotel “Alexander”, along with the taxi fee. My sincere thanks to the staff of Hotel “Alexander”. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Stayed at the hotel in February 2022. Had problem with the shower head in room were changed to a lovely room in the newer part of the hotel room 602. The latest trip we were in room 113 in the older part of the hotel, again there was a problem with the shower head which was dealt with. Included breakfast was lovely as before.Staff very helpful. Location of hotel for us is excellent. Hopefully returning in March.

Not enough tea bags, coffee and sugar in the room. Apart from that can't think of anything.

Very poor communication with staff, was told a different price for staying one night and at the arrival I was ask to pay a lot more. They sent me an email with the new higher price when we were already in the taxi heading to the hotel and I was asked do I want to keep the reservation!? As if I had any other options with my son and mum waiting beside me. Total mess that I was left with and they knew I didn't have any choice but pay that.

Room was clean and big. Hotel stuff was really nice and proffesional. They all spoke really well english.

Breakfast was not that good. There was no signes or anything to tell what ingredients where on those foods. Also bacon was run out all that time we were eating. Coffee was also really really bad. Smelled like that machine hasnt been deep cleaned for a long time. I only ate there ones and next morning I went to buy my own food and coffee. Shower was terrible. It took nearly 5 minutes that we got hot water. Pressure was so bad that it was hard to clean yourself. Also I didnt like that you could take an elevator and walk to the hallways without showing your hotel card. Thats not safe if you are traveling alone since someone can follow you up till your room even if they are not staying in that hotel.

A very large room clean with a superb large bath in the bedroom, very close to the main square.

On arrival, you had coffee and tea supplies in the room, but these were not topped up when gone, when I enquired about having these topped up I was told that it was just a welcome gesture and they don't top them up. So all of our stay after these were used there was no way of having a hot drink apart from when you had breakfast. Not even a water fountain to get a glass of water as we were advised not to drink from tap.

We arrived off our train early in the morning (5.45), cold and tired and everywhere was closed. Arrived at the hotel and, after explaining our plight, the lovely gentleman offered us an upgraded room straightaway so we could get some sleep. The room was lovely, newly refurbished and very spacious. There was also a kettle, tea and coffee in the room and, a drinking water dispenser in the hallway for guests! Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. I highly recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was good. Fresh tasty food, reasonably varied. The hotel is super clean and well located.

We were asked to leave our room immediately after 12:00. A receptionist called several times in 15 min distracting us from packing our bags. By 12:20 a guy came and nearly forced us out although we were already taking the bags out of the room one by one. That was an unpleasant experience. To be fare, in other respects the staff met our expectations but the overall service may be improved.

Very friendly stuff. I would say really great breakfast: lots of choices, fresh and tasty fruits, desserts, different cheeses, salads etc. Unexpected but very nice that the room has a mini fridge (wasn't written in description). Rooms are clean and have carpet. Also there is a good air conditioner system and very comfortable table if you need to work from the room. Great location, very close to the historical square and in walking distance to the other attractions and the main train and bus station.

The only disadvantage is old hanger for shower 🚿 in the bathroom, I needed to hold the shower head in my hand as it was not possible to lock it in the needed direction. Also, the pillows is not very comfortable. Lack of socket next to the bed.

Breakfast was excellent and the service from reception was also great. We ordered a taxi with reception that arrived on time and was nice. We also knew we were going to miss breakfast on the last day due to an early flight, so we asked reception and they did a breakfast bag for all four of us to take away. This bag had a sandwich, pretzel sticks, and apple, a chocolate bar, a bottle of water and a carton of fruit juice inside. This service was at no extra charge. Room was very clean and modern. Would definitely stay here again!
