Radisson Blu Royal Garden Hotel, Trondheim

Good location for the city centre with plenty of places to visit and easy access to attractions. Comfortable room with interesting river view. 10 minute walk from various bar/restaurant areas and main train station. Taxi rank outside if going further afield.

The room was a little smaller than we might have expected from this standard of hotel (only space to open one suitcase at a time). On our second night a sex-worker was allowed to sit in the bar and proposition potential clients while we tried to relax! Breakfast was very busy but plentiful. Functional but not necessarily relaxing.

We arrived very late from our first long leg of the road trip to Northern Norway. The location was close to all the main sites in downtown Trondheim. 12min walk to the famous Cathedral and 7min to the main square. Great breakfast buffet, they even had a little kids corner with a small kitchen, very cute bamboo plates, cups and utensils where they can serve themselves. We almost missed it if I did not ask for pancakes and the friendly staff member directed me to it.

Parking in the garage was very pricey, parking plus charging fee, so make sure to park on the street over night. But this is operated by another company, so not related to Radisson Blu.

It’s a really smart hotel and centrally located. Well laid out.

Staff on Reception, and parking arrangements. We arrived late on a Saturday afternoon, for a one night stay. I parked in the metered parking area at the front of the hotel, which appeared to cost something in the region of £40 for an overnight parking. There was one person on reception with a queue of people waiting to be dealt with. After a twenty minute wait it was our turn. No apology. Once checked in, I asked advice about parking. I was told that the only option was the chargeable meter parking outside, or their garage (which was not offered to me) and which would cost the same. This was a complete falsehood. A simple google search tells us that on street parking in Trondheim is free at weekends. Rip off hotel. I parked elsewhere at no cost.

The hotel has a very good location and you can have your breakfast overlooking the river. Overlooking the river I think it's one of its best selling points. Also it's very central, we walked everywhere from the hotel and the bus station for the bus from the airport is like a 2 minutes walk. It's very clean, beds are nice and the staff is helpful. I wanna thank Enrique especially because he was so helpful, polite and kind to us. With staff like that it's a pleasure to come back.

The facade of the hotel clashes a little with the overall architecture of the city (the houses by the river) and it seems a little out of place, but that's it.

Location was really good. Right on river. For morning run and walks (saw an otter). Close to old town for bars and restaurants (shout out to Ox Taproom - beer/pizza). Easy transport links. Airport bus (I used) just across bridge. Also close to central station (train a cheaper airport transfer option). Nice spacious room.

I can't comment on breakfast or facilities other than room as none used by me. Perhaps more storage space (was ok as solo traveller just). Perhaps long life milk and not creamer (just a minor issue) for tea.

Nice, clean, cosy rooms. Breakfast very tasty with lot of options. Nice and helpful staff. Great location, breakfast with amazing view. It could be perfect place to stay but…

The hotel is actually an active construction site- drills and hammers from early morning till late afternoon ( even on Sunday). I know that newly renovated rooms are big advantage for the hotel but I think that renovation suppose to not interrupt guests (especially during the weekend)

Selection for breakfast was excellent and quality exceeded expectations. The room was great quality and overall quality of the hotel was great and I would recommend it. The water taps were a lovely extra

Surprised the bedroom doors didn’t automatically lock and the noise from the atrium/food area could’ve been less, was the cause of early morning wake-up’s

We got a gorgeous room with a view over Nidelven towards Bakklandet. We got a clean room with a big comfortable bed and a nice bathroom with a bathtub. The service was absolutely amazing, the breakfast had a good selection, and the staff super friendly.

The only thing that didn't meet expectations was the Chromecast on the TV, because it didn't work, but was definitely not a deal breaker.

First of and above all, the location.

I liked the room and its amenities, the view from the room to the river, the Cleanness and furniture of the room, house cleaning, the friendly and professional staff, location, hotel reception area, breakfast was very good and the freshly baked croissant was delicious.... Did I mention the lication also which was near bus stops that is one of the stops of the express bus to/from the airport.
