Holiday Inn Kuwait Al Thuraya City, an IHG Hotel

Although near the airport - around 7 min drive - the area does not feel remote. There's a supermarket (carrefour) not far from the hotel. We rented a car from the airport via booking.com as well. We had an early morning flight, and our small family of three arrived early at 10:30am. The staff at the reception, Emelie, was very kind to accommodate us and allowed us to check in early, enabling us our much-needed catch-up on sleep. The buffet spread for breakfast is great with a wide selection of everything (my son particularly enjoyed their freshly made waffles). We even skipped lunch and instead had an early dinner because of the filling breakfast buffet. We also had an early flight back home and had to be at the airport by 6:30am, and were pleasantly surprised to know that the breakfast buffet was ready as early as 5:45 am so we were able to grab some eggs & coffee before we left. Everything was smooth and easy, and we enjoyed our short little getaway.

The room/bathroom was slightly different than the photos of the one we booked. But the early check-in sort of made up for it.

The complimentary airport pick-up and drop-off is very efficient and that was a big plus for me. The room was comfortable and clean but there are obvious signs of wear and tear, not very good for the high price you pay for a night. This was only a 12h stay, in transit from the Far East to Europe so didn't really use any facilities apart from Room service. The portion was very good and food was tasty, but again I found it very expensive.

Expensive, not good value for money. Considering the rate, it is disappointing that to use the Spa just for the sauna or steam room you have to pay extra! The driver for my airport drop-off was the most miserable man.

I was supposed to stay in the crown plaza the first night but I choosed holiday in by mistake Bathroom is too small

the water was constantly leaking after flushing. there was no house keeping during my three night stay. no hair dryer

not 1st time for me in this hotel , it is great like always , swimming pool was clean , gym very large with various devices ,breakfast and dinner was in the room , kind staff every location inside the hotel , room service very fast to reply my requests , internet wasnt very strong in my room (664) , TV signal or cable wasn't clear in the screen , TV was 32 inch . me with my family enjoyed our stay , i rate it 10/10

due to COVID 19 the kids play room was closed , also restaurants were closed , Meals were served in the rooms , breakfast menu is fine and more than enough , but dinner menu was not variety ,it is not fair comparing with the open buffet , you have to pick only one appetizer , one main course ,and one dessert ! you cant pick both salad and soup together ?!! they have to make 2 or 3 appetizers together and make the quantity less ,

The SPA is truly amazing and good service. Location is really close to everything. You have good selection of restaurants in the same hotel. The GYM and swimming pool are better than I expected specially for the GYM.

Parking is outdoor and it's gets quite sunny in Kuwait. You need to put the cleaning sign to get your room cleaned. The shisha closed at 11:00 PM which is really early

The staff were outstanding! They were very hospitable and accommodating to our needs (e.g. late check-out). They really went above and beyond, definitely the best service I’ve received while staying at a hotel. The hotel also provide free shuttles to the airport every hour, and it’s location is ideal for me.

Everything about my stay was perfect, except maybe the wireless wifi could be a bit faster. It was definitely not an issue though, and it was good enough.

breakfast was not very nice. I have been traveling for international business for 40 years and the standard seems below my expectation for IHG group. a couple of the items just weren’t edible. beans and pancakes in particular.
