Hotel Nikko Kanazawa

Very convenient to the station. Hotel staff,particularly in the Garden Restaurant at breakfast, were warm and helpful. Other guests too were considerate and polite. The flowers in the lobby are lovely.

A coin operated guest laundry would be a great addition.

The hotel location and facilities are first class with no questions. The hotel staffs are so kind, lovely and helpful. The day I checked in hotel was raining heavily and we arrived hotel too early, about 10am. My wife and I had no umbrella walked from train station to hotel with two big suitcases and of course all wetted. The hotel staff saw us and immediately served us with dry towels to dry ourselves. And we left our suitcases with them because too early to check in. We asked them to help to keep our suitcases before we can check in; and I saw them using clean towels to dry our suitcases carefully! We then returned the towels she gave us to dry ourselves earlier. She said that I can keep those towels! And we were provided two umbrellas so that we can walk around before checking in hotel. When we came back to check in hotel later, our suitcases are in our room!! How a warm welcome from hotel! We were treated like an VIP!

Great location from Kanazawa station and you can get by going underground directly from the station. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the views from so high up were amazing to wake up to and sleep to! As it's so close to the main station you can easily catch many of the buses to go sightseeing around town. Also the breakfast options available are amazing

The decor may not be to one's liking, seems a bit dated. Also I would've liked if they had laundry machines available for customers to use rather than having the hotel do it.

Luxury. That word really describes this hotel, from the large beautiful lobby area, to the hotel's Tsukibae Craft Shop selling exquisite and unique art made by local artists, to the glorious huge perfectly designed and decorated room. And the view from our room was fantastic...from high on the 18th floor we looked out at the city lights and looked down over the wonderful architecturally amazing Kanazawa Train Station (no worries about train noise either). We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kanazawa.

A nice and large hotel pretty close to the Kanazawa train station. To reach the hotel you need to walk about 5 minutes from the JR train station in Kanazawa. The room we were in was quite large compared to the rest of the hotels we stayed at in our trip to Japan. The staff was very kind and even helped us ship our luggage to the next destination. The room was large, clean and included everything we needed. In addition, the staff provided us with a small present because we were celebrating our honeymoon :)

Excellent stay. I loved the view over the mountains from my room. The checking and out was very good as well, I got the same receptionist who was very nice. I went to the rooftop bar in the event as well and they had live music playing. I'd expect they wouldn't change the guests for entry but nonetheless it was very nice and I really enjoyed it. Lovely stay in general and will definitely consider staying here again on my next visit. Also, I loved the fact that there was English newspapers waiting for me in the morning at the door, I really appreciate the old style service. I went to the Japanese restaurant for breakfast and it was spectacular.

After the room change to a non-smoking one on the 24th floor, the room was pleasant and functional. We particularly liked the Japanese style combined shower/bath room, separate from a toilet. It was very close to the Kanazawa station. We chose the location because we went by Shinkansen and also our bus tour meeting point was the Kanazawa station. We were satisfied with the location. If you want an easier access to the main tourist areas, you may want to choose a different location. Almost everything is within a walking distance but you end up walking a lot, going back and forth. Alternative is to take a taxi to one of the attractions and walk around from there. We used taxi (there are always several waiting at the hotel) to go back to Kenroku-en in the evening for light up, which saved quite a bit of walking and a long wait for a bus. The taxi driver told us that many tourists use taxi to go to Kenroku-en from the Kanazawa station area.

Maybe I was not paying attention but the inital booking was a smoking room. When checking the reservation a few days prior to the stay, I discoverered it and sent a message to the hotel requesting a non-smoking room via the Booking.com, to which I received no reply. Our initial room was on the 20th floor and the moment we stepped out of the elevator, the floor had the smell of the cigarette. Our room also had distinct cigarette odor and after trying deodorant and air purifier for several hours, we requested a room change. The front clerk was pleasant enough to accomodate the request. Conclusion: if you are a non-smoker, make sure that your room is non-smoking and avoid the 20th floor.

Staff is awesome!ll Great hospitality. I taught hospitality for 30 years at Cornell University. so happy to find it still being practiced. Traveled a lot in Japan. The staff spoke and understood more English than I have experienced elsewhere. Premium location across from train station that offers many very good food options including Japanese take on Chinese food. Excellent, less greasy. Lots of shopping venues at train station as well.

That we had to leave Kanazawa and Nikko Hotel. Look forward to returning and will yearly along with Hokkaido.

The hotel was beautiful and the location was fabulous! Hotel Nikko was located right by Kanazawa Station. Breakfast was included in our stay, and the service and selection were incredible. The breakfast buffet was the most delicious of all the hotels we stayed at during our trip. There were many high-end choices for a breakfast buffet, including salmon, duck, seafood salad, charcuterie, and roasted pork. Unexpected Bonus...We were given 2 free drink vouchers for the bar on the top floor when we checked in. The view from the bar was beautiful and the drinks were amazing. We ended up staying, ordering another round, and listening to the live piano player.

Bed was very very hard.
