Hotel Palazzo Abadessa

We had this hotel recommended to us and it didnt disappoint. Felt like we were stepping back in time, built in the 1500's it was steeped in history. Beautiful gardens to sit in. The breakfast was gorgeous, all continental but very good and the cakes on offer were simply delicious! Good location as well, we got a shared private water taxi from the airport to the area where the hotel is situated and then walked (with Google Maps) to find the hotel. The public water taxi for the return journey to the airport is literally a 5 minute walk away, taxis every 30 minutes, 15 euros per person, Excellent service, so easy to use, pay on board! Would definitely return to Palazzo Abedessa.

loved the quaint Italian vibe it gave, beautiful courtyard and garden outside also that you can have breakfast in., also beside the water and a little bridge over. within walking distance of lots of places also. lovely continental breakfast and bottle of Prosecco in our room. shutters on window also which I loved. if looking for a typical Italian residence this is the place! also there was a free trip to Murano to a glass making demo laid on by the hotel. collection from hotel by water taxi so an added bonus

Stunning old historical building turned into a palazzo from the 16th century with modern bathrooms, our double room was spacious with opulent decoration. The room was cleaned and refreshed daily. The staff were friendly and attentive, and helpful especially Luca and Darwin!! The breakfast included variety of options from the traditional croissants to platters of cheese, charcutrie, veggies, juices and the most important thing was the coffee, finally proper espresso coffee!!

The only thing was a very slow wifi connection which happened randomly through the day!

Location of hotel was very good, near a main street with a wonderful atmosphere but down an alley so slightly removed from the noise. Garden felt like our own little world inside Venice. Breakfast was very tasteful and overall vibe was that we were truly staying in a historic building. Special thanks to Luca for being understanding on our checkout when our pickup was delayed.

Room was small and a little more space would have been welcome but I assume these are some of the limitations of a 500 year old building.

Nice location, just far enough from the crowd. Staff was marvelous sympathetic and welcoming. Thanks Lucas for the building history. Really enjoy the place. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my Milano friends.

The photos are very accurate for this hotel. Stunning old historical rooms with modern bathrooms (nice hot shower!). The staff were friendly and attentive, and the 24 hour front desk was always staffed. The breakfast included was above and beyond the typical 'continental breakfast' it was delicious.

Not necessarily a fault of this hotel, but as it's an older building there are no window screens so be warned of mosquitoes at night (it comes with being in Venice, not the end of the world!)

A beautiful building set in its own garden and close to one of the smaller canals. A wonderful retreat following a day exploring the city in the hot summer sun. Also lovely to be able to eat breakfast outside in a peaceful space. Our room was modest in size but we loved the exposed beams and wooden floors. Out bed was comfortable, the air con worked well and the fridge was kept stocked with water. All the staff we encountered were friendly and very helpful.

Our shower was pretty awful it terms of its fixtures to the wall. This meant the shower head kept moving around when we used it. My husband came up with a temporary solution to the problem but the hotel need to fix this.

Authentic Venetian charm at the Hotel Palazzo Abadessa. Truly a beautiful historic building which has been well maintained & decorated with antiques through-out, Quiet location, yet easy enough to walk all over Venice & beautiful garden to sip something cold after a long day of sightseeing. The staff were amazing & extremely Helpful. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Wish air conditioner was a little stronger.

I had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. I loved the room and the palace itself furnished with antiques. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. There was a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. And I would love to come back!

I think that the quality and range of the produce offered at breakfast could be improved.
