Hotel Grand Vesuvio

Pool area was lovely. Free bus down to town centre. Staff in restaurant were top class. I injured my foot and they brought me coffee and food to my table. Nothing was a problem

Breakfast was awful. Glad I wasn’t full board. Eggs were like soup. Reception staff not great. We came home from a day at Capri and I had injured myself falling downstairs. We asked if we could have some ice up to our room and we were told to go to the Bar… he could see I could hardly walk.

Beautiful views from the hotel. Rooms spacious and kept very clean always. Pool area was nice, plenty of loungers and space although not much on offer at the pool snack bar to eat or drink although you could eat in the restaurant but it was expensive and not very nice. Shuttle bus was needed as it was a difficult walk from centre to hotel uphill and some parts had no footpath. Overall a nice hotel to relax in while taking a break from sight seeing.

As other reviewers have mentioned shuttle bus could operate more frequently , none at all until 4.30 in afternoon. Breakfast selection was ok, food at restaurant quite poor. Drinks expensive at pool bar.

The hotel was lovely very clean and friendly.

It was a bit far out of town and the shuttle bus didn’t run often enough. The road up to hotel is not suitable for walking and a taxi was €20 Euros. we were very tied to time watching for getting home as you had to be at the bus stop 20mins before last bus at 11/15 and if bus was full you were left to get a taxi or walk.

The staff was great, very helpfull and freindly We were 3 in one room which was very spacious and clean, with a great view Breakfast was good we also had dinner the food was great The have a shuttel from the hotel for free to the city center it was so comfortable They also have arranged tours to amalfi coast, capri and more where they pick you up and drop you off at the hotel

The hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens which during our stay were covered with beautiful blooms which definitely added to the external appearance. The building itself is not modern but is very well maintained. The reception staff who were very courteous throughout our stay upgraded us to rooms on the top floor, rooms that were much more decorated and comfortable than the ones we booked. The big bonus was a balcony in each room overlooking the amazing view of Sorrento, Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. We really liked the fact that every evening there was a show with live music in the hotel bar and more than that we loved the hotel's free shuttle service to the center of Sorrento which we used daily. The frequency of the service was very convenient and the shuttles operate until about 23:00 - which allowed us to go out to Sorrento almost every evening comfortably and without fear!

Breakfast. Although it was varied- the dishes were basic and the taste of most of the dishes was somewhat trivial. However we never went hungry and always found something to eat... The dining room staff were polite and went out of their way to help and assist with serving omelettes and coffee.

great position above the town with wonderful views from the sea view rooms. very good courtesy bus to town centre.

The views from our suite were incredible. The room was spacious. Water pressure was fantastic. Breakfast offered an expansive selection to choose from. Pool area was lovely. Room was cleaned daily with no issue. The shuttle was always on time. No complaints. The hotel is in a quieter area with not much flexibility to roam freely and sit at a café in the morning. That said, it wasn't a deal breaker. We enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning!

Would have been nice to have a variety store on site for incidentals like sunscreen, bandaid, water, snacks.

Breakfast was superb. Very good bus shuttle mornings and evenings but there was a gap between 1.00 and 4.30. Otherwise absolutely superb.

Amazing views. Clean hotel. Easy check-in. Welcome team. Decent rooms with beverages in the fridge. You need to pay for the beverages but it’s a nice option to have available. Shuttle service is consistent and drops off and picks up at a great location for sightseeing, dining and shopping. The team at the bar were the best. Franco the bartender has worked at the hotel for 37 years and worth stopping by and saying hi and chatting. Live music was nice as you enjoy drinks and the amazing views. Restaurant staff was nice and surprised us with a nice anniversary dessert. Very special. Nice nature space outside with picturesque views.

Limited food options. The only issue for us but not a deal breaker and this may not be an issue for everyone. The restaurants closes early and the pool bar was rarely open. The staff at the pool bar were not hospitable and not very helpful so we didn’t spend too much time there. Restaurant staff was very nice and the food was good. Better to leave the property to eat since there are so many great options in town. You can sit outside to have drinks and hear live music but can’t get food after 9pm. At least you get peanuts unless you have a nut allergy then there’s chips. You can also get a toasted sandwich. The views and the bar team make up for the lack of food option, they are delightful.

Great view from the whole building (and the balconies). Very big, spacious hotel. Good cleaning staff. Nice pool, terrace. Perfect place to chill. Free bus transfer is a good option to get from the hill to the city centre/Sorrento train station/beach etc

Breakfast was very disappointing… Maybe for the elderly UK people it was good enough but to my mind it’s a shame to serve this kind of breakfast in Italy…
