Villa Rosa Hotel Desenzano

The hotel was very nice. I stayed for 1 night only, but I’d love to come for more! I stayed in a junior suite with the lake view. The room was well-designed and clean, the bed was comfortable, there were different kinds of pillows for any taste. The bathroom was spacious, had high quality toiletries, enough towels and a nice bath. Good bathrobes and slippers were available. There was a kettle, and a tea/coffee selection. The curtains are blackout, I love that. The breakfast was superb, different types of eggs, fish, cheeses, lots of good-quality pastry, many vegetarian/vegan choices (although I came like 15 min before closure), a nice coffee machine. A la carte breakfast options are also possible. And you’ll have the tempting choice between squeezing a glass of yummy fresh juice or indulging yourself with champagne - I opted for a healthier choice :) The restaurant looks nice for dinner as well. The elevator is good, although you have to go down the steps for some rooms, please note that if you have limited mobility. The location isn’t in the very center of Desenzano, but it’s not a big deal, since it’s like a 10 min walk. If you arrive by bus from the station, the bus stop is like 2 min away. You can easily take a bus to Sirmione, it’s the most interesting place around I guess so make sure you include it in your plans (note that there are different types of tickets for in-city Desenzano trips and Desenzano-Sirmione, the buses depart approximately every 0.5-1 h, and when you come back, it’s a 10 min walk to the hotel). Hotel reception is very welcoming. They speak English well. They helped me book a taxi in 5 min, so I took my train on time :) Thank you, I loved my stay!

There’s an ongoing renovation of a park in front of the hotel. So you won’t have Instagram views, and it will be quite noisy if you decide to open the window. Although the windows are sound-blocking. Didn’t get help with the luggage although I had a lot, and I had to carry it over a few stairs. No free water in the room - I don’t know what’s the usual policy for Italy, but most hotels of that level where I stayed provided that.

Service was excellent. Super restaurant. Lovely pool. Very clean. Nice to have evening aperitivo. Good location.

Steps into pool need a handrail for older/less mobile people.

EVERYTHING. Amazing staff. So helpful and we were always greeted with a smile. Wonderful welcome at Breakfast, wonderful service in the Bistro by the pool amazing bar service ( special mention to Elias) and very attentive and helpful Reception. The hotel was so clean thanks to wonderful Monica.It was quiet with wonderful views directly over the lake. Pool was just whatcwas needed after hot days exploring. Great size rooms. Lovely little garden to relax in and beautiful terrace to sit relaxing in the evening. The staff make you feel socwelcome and like they have known you for years. Our first time but not the last. Thank you Villa Rosa for a truly magical week.

The hotel is beautiful presented throughout, the staff are very attentive - particularly liked the ‘call bells’ on tables/round pool during the day to easily order drinks and food. Restaurant for dinner was a lovely treat and deliciously fresh food and unique menu. Walking around Desenzano, Villa Rosa really stood out as the prettiest, most impressive looking accommodation. We hired electric bikes from the hotel one day to explore the area which we thoroughly enjoyed and a reasonable price.

Breakfast was nice but would have liked more hot/freshly cooked options - good continental and coffee selection though.

Wonderful breakfast to start each day! The choices are very good and we liked the availability of Gluten Free options since that is a must in our family due to Celiac (coeliac). Excellent location not far from the center and well withing walking distance of the key places in town. The elevator system was a bit strange but you get used to it.

Pool mats are a bit too close to each other, but not too bad.

This is a wonderful hotel, an absolute gem in a stunning location. The facilities are excellent and the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. It's only a few minutes walk to the beautiful town of Desenzano which has many excellent restaurants.

The bedroom was spotlessly clean, lovely bedlinen and comfortable beds but the decor was slightly tired and could do with being updated.

the first room had a view of the lake and was private.

the second room had a view of the car park.

The location was perfect - on the waterfront with a short walk to the ferry port. The breakfast was extraordinarily good and could not be faulted. The staff were incredibly obliging. The evening meal was also outstanding.

The hotel has limited parking, circa 10 places at the back of the hotel. There is a car park directly across the road but this costs €12 per day. We initially parked in the car park, but the staff were able to find us a place directly in front of the hotel shortly after.

The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were nice and comfortable. The older lady in reception ( apologies didn’t get your name )was very helpful and customer focused. Angela the waitress was a lovely girl and most attentive. Giivanna the lady who cleaned our room went out her way to help us.

As it was exceptionally hot in July it would have been nice to have a welcome drink.

Excellent breakfast. Great location - 10min easy walk into town. Spotlessly clean throughout. Pleasant, professional and helpful staff. Had 1 evening meal in the restaurant- superb! Comfortable bed with beautiful luxurious bedlinen. And good large fluffy towels!

Inability to book taxis in advance - but think this was more an Italian thing than the hotel's policy.
