Hotel Aristeo

Conveniently close to the shopping area and many of the sights...you do have to walk UP quite a steep hill to get there, but worth it. Vast selection of restaurants in the vicinity. Little supermercato close by to stock up on water and snacks if required. If you are driving there is a little parking area just in front of the hotel (type in Parcheggi Cagliari Centro into your GPS) you speak to the parking guard and pay him for as long as you need to stay. There are other parking areas nearby but you need to speak Italian and have coins to operate the machines. Breakfast is simple but delicious and the staff are great.

Nothing wrong with the hotel but the city in general...Easter 2023 - plenty of roadworks and building renovations so many roads are closed. GPS does not accommodate for this so we had to drive blind occasionally as roads were closed.

The location is very central to the historic districts and everything is walkable really great location.

I wish I had known there was construction taking place on the entire street in front of the hotel. It turned out to be perfectly fine, but I wasn’t prepared for this visually, so was surprised to have this be the first thing to see while trying to locate the hotel . It is a little bit upsetting at first, but it turned out to be fine. Also, there is a commercial building near the hotel, and it seemed a little bit scary at night to walk through while walking around trying to find dinner.

The location is fantastic, right on the marina. The room was very pretty, clean, and comfortable, as was the bathroom. The windows are well-insulated - it was very noisy outside but quiet inside with closed windows. An electric kettle was provided in the room. The staff was very nice.

It's a nice hotel, but overall, I feel like the price was just a bit too high for what I actually got. The fotos provided give the impression that the room has an actual balcony when it is a french one (no space to sit there). Regarding breakfast, I'd sent a message saying that I would need gluten-free options but didn't get a reply and didn't see any gluten-free bread or cereal there (there is yogurt and fruit though).

Good selection of fruit, simple but tasty selection of ham, salami, and cheese. Good coffee! Lovely bread and fresh croissants and Sardinian sweet biscuits/cake. The room was spacious, clean, and well laid out - and it had USB sockets including in the bathroom so could re-charge my toothbrush! Only downside was that I only had a view of a back street. Staff were helpful and friendly. Efficient A/C in room.

Thought I’d booked a room with a view of the harbour! Strong smell of adhesive in lift and hallways as maintenance work being done on foyer floor (but I understand it needed to be done). Took me a few attempts to get into the car park that is across the road but more or less in front of the hotel as there is a complex one way system - but once I’d figured it out it was really good value.

The breakfast was very good (except coffee, but we found Dulcis Pasticceria nearby with excellent coffee, pastries, and wine); the staff was EXCELLENT; the hotel was clean, spacious, beautifully designed; the art on the walls was really beautiful and soothing (done by the owner of the hotel who is retired so you unfortunately can't buy it); very helpful with check-in/out and provided very useful information on parking in the area (which is difficult. Quick tip: if you arrive on a weekend and find parking in white lines don't move your car til Monday. Weekend parking is very challenging, took us 2 hours to find a spot. White lines are free, blue lines are paid and add up, orange lines are do not park); the room was comfortable, excellent shower with hot water and good pressure, AC was excellent, great views, 5-15min walk from all sights of the city, wifi worked fairly well, with a few minor glitches. My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would book again if traveling to Cagliari. Excellent value for the money.

Hotel was super. Staff couldn't have been better. Location great for all the city sights and a short bus trip to the gorgeous Poetto beach.

There was one group of young travellers who were very noisy at breakfast! Taking over the whole space and raising their voices to interrupt. BUT the breakfast hostess, the most welcoming and friendly MARTINA, noticed their poor manners and had a quiet word!

The room was a good size, nicely furnished and spotlessly clean - must have a great cleaning team. The bed was really comfortable. The receptionist was so welcoming, efficient and helpful. He had a lovely positivity and he went above and beyond to get transfer quotes for me quickly for the next morning as it was late evening. Then he unexpectedly provided the cost options in my own currency (NZ dollars) in addition to euro, which was thoughtful. Can’t remember his name at the moment but he was working 12 and 13 September and is a gem the hotel needs to keep.

The only minor issue was my room was on the main hallway and near reception therefore it was a bit noisy when people walked down the hall and I could hear all the reception conversations.

Central location with everything on the doorstep. The room was very well equipped with a kettle, huge shower and a small balcony looking onto a side street. The breakfast was very good with eggs, smoked salmon, nuts, fruit etc and decent coffee. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Parking was advertised but was not easy to find at certain times of day although it was inexpensive and within waking distance.

There are no door locks from inside the room. Considering that the door was quite thin and not sound proof, I got quite scared a couple of times when neighbours had to stop by or pass the room. I am sure the doors are locked and no one from outside can open it while you are inside, but a little lock would be more convenient
