Baross City Hotel - Budapest

1.The location was super convenient - the hotel it’s next to metro station and buses. 2.You have everything you need (shops 24/7 near the hotel, Starbucks, McDonald’s, Burger King, supermarkets) all in your step door. 3.Very friendly staff and housekeepers 4.Amazing value for money 5.Tasty and fresh breakfast every morning

First of all: All staff were friendly and helpful. We did not wait at reception even arrived a bit earlier than check in time. Hotel's location is over Keleti Train Station and very easy to access all over Budapest (via bus or M2-M4 metro lines). Room has AC and it was working while we entered the room (just finding how to turn it was a secret but receptionist helped us). Also there were enough drinks and foods for breakfast.

Our room was in 6th floor and there were no elevator access (only avaliable to 5th floor, not hotel's fault of course). We had to carry luggages by stairs but staff offered help. There were no shampoo in the bathroom, only shower gel. Our room had bath tube and there were a curtain, it did not protect the bathroom so wet. Beds were not so cosy but as we were so tired, it was not a problem. Breakfast room is a bit small, finding a table might be a problem (we found by luck).

The staff were amazing and sorted out our issues. I enjoyed the jam and chocolate filled croissants! Cool courtyard. Incredible value for money.

The first triple room we got put in had a really old badly stained carpet, no lamps, very stark and was located right next to the breakfast room which meant we were woken up at 6am, not good for any sensitive sleepers…however after sharing our grievances with Levi and Gary - they sorted us out with lamps and tea favcilities then moved us to an upgraded apartment room for the second night was was a major major improvement.

The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. I liked the breakfast; it was a great way to start the day and had a variety that exceeded what I had expected. The room, though adding the fourth bed made it a little cramped, it was perfect. I loved the little nook with two windows, which gave me a perfect spot to look out on the train station and street below. Train station right on your doorstep. Personally, I did not use the trains, but if someone was staying in Budapest for longer and wanted to go further afield for day trips, I think it is in a prime spot. Right in the thick of everything, so not too far a walk from all things that someone might want to see or go to.

Being summer, it was very warm, and the AC did not seem to help much during the night. Also, the windows did not muffle much sound from outside, so when an emergency vehicle went past, you heard it pretty clearly. So I was awoken a few times during the night because of it. Bit of a nitpick, but the bed was a bit creaky, so I had to be extra careful of the night since one of my friends is a very light sleeper.

First of all: the staff were friendly and helpful a specially at the reception. Breakfast was very good. It was a good start for the day. If you intend to come with public transport after that use it , than the hotel's location is very good because it is near Keleti Train Station thus it is very easy to access all over Budapest (via bus or M2/M4 metro lines). Part of the rooms at the apartment have air-conditioning which is essential in summer and winter. It was very helpful to find out that after check out you can store your bags for several hours at a luggage room

Beds were not so cosy but as we were so tired, it was not a problem Bathrooms could get a little upkeep The furniture in the rooms our apartment were old At night the area near and around became a bit dubious with the homeless that laid there and people that drank and smoked together Not saying it's not safe but I just felt somehow uncomfortable with my wife and children when we walked around

We loved this stay. It had a great value for money. It was certainly fit for a family of five people, even six really. It was extremely clean with two bathrooms. Staff were lovely and reacted to any problems in less than an hour (there was only one problem anyway and that was just a blocked shower, which was fixed straight away). The location was right next to the train station which was extremely convenient for us. The breakfast was good with a reasonable selection but just could have been a little better. Overall, it was great!

We liked the apartment we had for 5 people: couple with 3 grown up kids: two rooms, two bathrooms, small kitchenette, entrance hall. It was spacious, clean and comfortable, and well equipped! The location of the hotel is also excellent, near the "Keleti palyaudvar" and access to underground (metro) 2 and 4, which are great options to travel to different sites in Budapest. The breakfast was great as well!

Parking is difficult, but that is not the Hotel's fault, it is just an inconvenience if you come by car.

Close to keleti. Practical. Large apartment with more than you need for a couple of nights. Since it two bedrooms with keys it's also goof for sharing with someone that not close since you have bedroom with bathrooms with own keys. We was family with young kids. Helpful and friendly staff. Small breakfast room so it can get crowdy The breakfast was basic but good. This apartment in 4 floor was much nicer than the apartment on the first floor.

Breakfast room is a little to small but we didn't have to wait for seats. Coffee and drinks could be placed on the other side of the room where they keep the bread so the lines flow better and less waiting.

Great location, just acrooss the train station and the subway. All sorts of fast food restaurants and shops very near. The accommodation itself is a big appartment with separate doors for the rooms, each room having its private bathroom which was perfect. It is a bit dated but still well maintained, comfortable, and cosy. We had the absolute calm night of rest with no noise from the street or neighbours at all. All in all for a weekend stay I would definitely come back.

No parking from the hotel, but we found public parking nearby in zone B, which is free on weekends.

Overall it was a very pleasant stay. Has everything you need and everyone is really friendly. Hotel was clean, breakfast was good, staff is amazing and the location is just perfect. For a 3 star hotel it is really exceptional.

Heating was not really doing it's job for a few days, because they were changing the boilers in the building I was told. That would also be fine if outside temperature was not below zero as it was. But heating was fixed few days later and after that stay was just perfect. In those 'cold' days hotel staff also gave us an extra set of blankets, so we were covered in that department. Just because of that I am rating hotel as 9, otherwise it would be a solid 10 for a 3 star hotel.
