Sunflower Hostel

The location was great. About an 8 minute walk to the train and really close to great clubs and restaurants. Clean and fairly comfortable

The check in was slow and the need for cash for the locker was annoying. Especially when reception didn't have change for notes. The curtain in the room just need replacing. The current one isn't fit for purpose. You need to get a black out blind or curtain for this room as soon as possible.

I hope they buy some new beds soon 😅 the current ones are awful, very noisy and uncomfortable

Choosing "Sunflower Hostel Berlin" was primarily for its convenient location and proximity to public transport stops, although the nearby railway had initially raised concerns about potential noise. To my surprise, these concerns were unfounded: the stay at the hostel was exceptionally quiet and peaceful. The check-in and check-out process was extremely comfortable and took just a minute. The staff left a delightful impression with their friendliness and readiness to assist in any situation. The rooms in the hostel were very clean and comfortable, with cozy beds and clean linen. Despite the cold February weather, the room was warm and welcoming. The free and fast Wi-Fi access, along with the pleasant music in the lobby, added to the enjoyment of our stay. The toilets and showers on the floor were perfectly clean, and having access to laundry services was very convenient. The cost of staying proved to be excellent in terms of value for money, making our stay at Sunflower Hostel Berlin even more pleasant. Our initial concerns and those of my colleague about potential noise from the nearby railway were completely unfounded. The hostel provided a wonderful place for a quiet and restful stay. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet, and convenient place to stay in Berlin

Very international lovely backpacker atmosphere. Nice bar downstairs and we loved the kitchen on our floor. Cooking facilities are great. The matrasses were very comfy and the shower had good water pressure. We felt very safe throughout our stay. Some guests were loud above us and I was immediately helped by staff to communicate with the noisy neighbours. Will definitely book again.

The breakfast could be better but for 6 euros you can't be too picky I guess. Its kind of awkward that the cleaning staff just come into the rooms whenever they need to clean. My son was still sleeping and woke up to a stranger in his room. I was explained by a lovely receptionist that it's how it has got to be in order for the cleaners to get everything done and I understand that. I'd say this hotel isn't for those who would like to hang "Do not disturb" sign on their rooms in order to sleep in.

Great location. Within 10 min (easy) walking to the metro & main roads. The room was spacious with plenty of space to put x2 suitcases. Access to washing machines, dryer & a coffee machine. Awesome security at the hostel. You can tell they’ve taken active steps to make sure people are safe & secure.

Sound from the shared bathrooms travelled through to the bedroom, woke up a few times to people when they were coming home at midnight. Carry suitcases up stairs (not a biggie for us, but may be for others with disabilities)

The staff is very friendly and polite, the bathrooms are modern and clean, the room was quite big. The bed is also comfortable - pillow nice and soft and a firm mattress. The hostel is not far from the metro station and is very close to bars, restaurants, clubs and coffee shops.

The room was VERY hot, so we had to sleep with the windows open. Apart from the bug bites, it was loud, very loud. The hostel has some seats outside on the sidewalk and backpackers gather there to drink and talk until the morning.

My favourite part of the hostel is the great water pressure and the boiling hot water! Great for hot showers after a night out with friends. Rooms are decent, but bunks are a little creaky. Party hostel, so people are up till late at night! Met many cool people and had such a great time hanging out in the common area/bar, where you can bring your own drinks too!

Bunk beds are a little shaky, and the rolling lockers are a little loud on the floor, so when rolling them out from under a strangers bed, it might get a little noisy. People come back late (myself included), so if you're not planning to visit the nearby berghain and the other clubs in the area you might not get a good rest.

The room was amazing! Despite my first time in a mixed dormitory room, everything was perfect: the bathroom, the beds, all the services provide by the hostel were amazing (from the towels to the locker). I was positively surprised. I stayed there for a concert in the Mercedez Benz Arena that is just 10 min away from the hostel, so my walking trip back home was short and without any difficulties! Moreover, the hostel is very close to the station to take the metro! I loved the stay and the staff was always available for me! 10/10!

This is the place to be if you want to meet lovely people. Most people were very open and accommodating (the bartender / receptionist even reminded me to take a coat with me outside lest I get sick) and within two hours of my arrival I was already out and about with strangers from several different countries. 🙂 Works best if you're willing to expand your comfort zone and introduce yourself to others. Remember: you're only in Berlin a few times in your life. You oughta make the most of it!

-price was very high as for a hostel -interior of the building matches the surrounding area and I don't like it. It is the Berlin style of 'art' meaning half-torn stickers, graffitti (ok, rather not inside the building), etc. It makes me feel like I am in a squat or in slums, even though the bathrooms were clean and the bedsheets were very clean too!
