MEININGER Hotel Berlin East Side Gallery

The location is so close to the Ostbahnhof (East Train Station). For me this is like 5 star hostel. I’m not sure even what to call it a hostel or hotel. Cos they sell by bed but the facilities are like hotel - they provide towels (and change them every day) and you don’t have to put your own bed sheets. I happen to stay in a 4-bed room (in the dorm). So it consists of 2 single beds + 1 bunk bed (more like family room). The bed is so comfortable I slept so well during my stay here. Although there aren’t lockers but there are lots of private space for each of us. The guest kitchen is also very complete, I’m so amazed with all the facilities they have. The price and value is so worth my money. For a longer stay, the 4 bed room is a very good option.

Nothing really. But just a minor issue - if someone is in the bathroom when the cleaners come in, they won’t change the towel the day and you have to get them from the receptionist.

Good selection for breakfast, especially the inclusion of milk alternatives (soya, oat). Room was spacious and with good facilities, bins were changed every day. Excellent location, minutes from the Ostbanhof station and East Side Gallery on the other side of the road. The Wi-Fi had very good connection in my room. English speaking staff

More vegetarian and vegan options for breakfast, as there was mainly cheese and meat. There was also some confusion about the rules of breakfast, at the beginning they told me to just give my room number when I entered but the next day I suddenly needed a special card from the reception to prove that I paid. Very confusing. In addition, the doors of the shower weren't closing properly and a lot of water was spilling on the floor

I had booked a bed in a 6-person room and received one in a 4-person room, which was very nice. The room was well laid out, I liked that there was a private bathroom for the room to share, and that there was cleaning every day. The atmosphere in the hotel was very nice, we enjoyed using the bar and the shared kitchen. Check in and out were very easy and efficient. The location is right next to Berlin Ostbahnhof, which is convenient for going to the center of Berlin.

My cousin who I travelled with had some issues with noise from adjoining rooms, otherwise it was a great stay for both of us.

I was in a three people female dorm. The room was excellent. Sheets, room and the private bathroom were all spotless clean. You can borrow clean towels wthout a fee from the reception. Bed and pillows were very comfortable, there is free fast wifi, a plug for each bed, nightlamps, underfloor heating, air conditioning, tv, free toilettiries, hot water. The bathroom felt literally luxurious and had a window with a view of Alexanderplatz in far and you can see the end of the East Side Gallery. It’s a 2 min walk to Ostbahnhof station, there is Sbahn and Buses to there. Staff is helpful. They allowed me to hang out at the common space before my check in, its not very comfy but I got some sleep and used the (also weirdly super clean) public bathroom. I’ll def recommend everyone and will be coming back if i’m ever in Berlin again.

My room was great. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet, which are all huge pluses while traveling. The location was right next to the train station which made finding the hotel AND traveling around very easy. The cafe, kitchen and work spaces were exceptional. The free wifi was fast and I was able to work while waiting for my check in time since I arrived early.

No early check in and the luggage storage room had lockers that were too small to fit both my carry-on size suite case and a backpack. Since you have to pay for them, that's a bummer. Additionally, the luggage room was PACKED and I actually didn't have the option to leave my luggage there securely.

Awesome location and a great overall first hostel experience where I shared a room with 3 others. It was a surprisingly great stay! Towels, soap were provided and the bed was comfy. Take earplugs to block out the other's getting ready at different schedules and you'll be fine!

Only downside was, I did ask for a bunk bed before my stay twice which the hostel ensured I'd get (had to ask twice as they didn't respond first) and when I arrived there was a double bed left only in my room which made me very uncomfortable BUT after I found out the beds could be separated it was fine in the end and had quite a nice stay!

The location is superb! Since it's located super close to Ostbahnhof, it's easy to get to everywhere. Plus, there's a supermarket, bakeries and several shops inside the station. The room is nice and clean. I find it's great to being able to keep your food in the fridge and cook there. There's a nice lobby/bar or even a working area that you can sit all day if you have some stuffs to work on your laptop. All of the staffs are so nice and helpful.

The room is not so spacious. There's 2 twin beds and a bunk bed. Having to sleep right next to another person on a twin bed is quite weird to me at first. but the bed can be pulled apart, although there's not that much space. I couldn't take risks keeping my laptop inside the room so i need to use the locker next to the reception which costs quite a bit when you stay for more than couple days.

It was a shared room with three sets of bunk beds, it was not a gendered room reservation but we were put in an all girls room which was greatly appreciated, they were also able to accommodate putting us in the same room! Staff was helpful and constantly available, the community kitchen was clean and well kept with anything you could need to make a meal, and the bar was open late as well as multiple well stocked vending machines!

they vacuumed in our room before the check out time (began at 930am) which not only woke us up but made it unclear as to whether or not it would be cleaned again after our departure

Everything was on point. I stayed at this hotel because it was close to Verti Music Hall where I attended a concert. The Ostbahnhof is just across the road. Check-in was easy, room was clean and comfy and warm. Industrial design which I love. Staff was welcoming. Bathroom has this amazing heated floor. View was spectacular (river Spree and a beautiful park along the Eastern Wall). I also tried breakfast and I was surprised they had vegan options (thank you for doing this extra for me). Check-out literally lasts a few seconds. Overall I had an amazing experience at Meininger Hotel

I loved the location most of all, it's right next to a train station with great connections to a lot of public transport lines.

The bathroom in my room hadn't been cleaned once during my 5-day stay. I know there's a note saying that you can explicitly request cleaning but I honestly thought that the staff would see the mess and clean it by themselves when they brought new toilet paper every day. Next time I'll just request cleaning at the reception every day even though that seems a bit redundant.
