ibis Nice Centre Gare

We like the price and the pool, which was warm for swimming never too crowded with ample lounge chairs. They did not have towels for the pool.The room had all of the necessities and the staff was helpful. They had music one night by the pool during our 6 night stay. It was located about a block from the train station exit. You need to take an escalator up to the entrance. They have an elevator from the street but it is not easy to find as it exits on the side of the building by a rental car park. There is a nice lounge area and a computer for patrons use. There is a buffet breakfast, but we never took it. While close to the train it is about a 15-25 minute walk to the beach.

Ibis rooms are very small and standardized with the bare minimum of amenities. Windows are small with a nondescript view. I found that I missed the feeling of being immersed in the beauty and graciousness of older Nice hotels that have nice personal touches. But for the price, it is a bargain—especially because of the pool.

The location is convenient as it is right next to the train station, and close to the tram line. But to find an interesting part of Nice, you need to walk ten minutes. After all, it is the train station. Staff friendly and pro. The breakfast was very good with good choices. Nothing to complain about.

The hotel rates as three stars, I think it´s a little optimistic because the room is OK with air conditioning (but closed windows). The bed was not that great, soft, maybe an old mattress. The bathroom is old design. The corridors have the old Ibis 2 star look and for an odd reason the doors to the toilets on the floor level were removed while I spent my night there. Nothing serious but for this, it should have been significantly cheaper.

We had to check in late on the day of our arrival (it was a strike on that day, therefore our plane came very late ) ...still, it was a friendly gentleman at the reception to help us to check in. Also, all the staff working at the hotel (from reception/bar/care takers ...) are very helpful, friendly, very professional and welcoming which made our stay at the hotel a fantastic experience. We saw the lovely swimming pool and the relaxing area outside, yet didn't had the time to enjoy it this time, but certainly on a future holiday or weekend at Ibis Centre Gare in Nice. The location is perfect : it is near the train station, some bus stops and not too fare from the tram line. It is ideal also for a promenade and discover Nice and its gorgeous sea front, markets, etc... Our room was perfect sized for my husband and myself, and it was very lovely & comfortable and very clean. It is a great value for money. The service was impeccable at all time and we already looking for to returning in a near future.

Unfortunately our holiday was too short.

Staff were exceptional..!! Every member of staff went above and beyond the call of duty for us during our stay. Staff within catering department ordered food in especially me for my dietary requirements for breakfast..I am a coeliac and food choices are difficult..!! Staff made this so much easier for me .. thank you

Excellent location next to Nice Ville ..when I reached the hotel and checked in I thought my room was a bit small I asked the front desk Mr Majanid if there was any way I could change it..he was so kind and helpful ..he showed me two other types of rooms on another floor and I liked one of them and he got it changed..he was so helpful throughout after that (special thanks to him) and also Luca and all other staff always smiling never said no to anything..really top class wonderful people

This Ibis is right besides Nice Gare or central train station. So, you can imagine how connected you feel/are to all Nice area and all surroundings as Montecarlo, Antibes, Cannes. It so a perfect location, and btw a quiet, clean one, to have the train station at a few steps and visit all these superb places. Then it is Nice! You are at a walking distance to the center and to the beach or the alternative to take the tram which might be at 110 yards from the hotel. Ibis is always reliable at all locations. this one isn´t the exception. I WILL BOOK BACK.

The only little things you need to know is Ibis bathroom sizes. Small. Period. But an easy exchange for all the other benefits though your stay.

beautiful pool area, comfy beds, exceptional cleaning everyday, very friendly staff. perfect location - couldn’t get closer to the train station if you tried which was great for travelling around the south coast of France and for access to / from the airport via train.

pool isn’t heated, one of the elevators was in repair during my stay and the elevators are old and creaky, on one occasion the doors wouldn’t close and I had to take the stairs to the 8th floor.

Good location right next to train station for day trips. Walk to Main Street within 10 minutes and then old town/ beach area within 25 minutes. Good breakfast and nice to have a small pool to cool off.

Air con leaked water but maintenance managed to solve this after a couple of tries.

I liked that it was very close to the train station which gave flexibility to move around easily. fortunately you didn’t hear the noise from the trains so everything was good. The pool was nice and clean and the room was clean as well and was cleaned every day which made it even better. Ibis was a very good value for money, we saved a lot and it was a good investment that I would recommend anyone.

The only thing I didn’t like was that the bathroom was very small and the sink was an awful green color. The room overall was quite small as well but it wasnt that bad and was even kind of cozy

I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel and the room which had an amazing view of Nice and the sea. The room was pretty large and had a nice bed with a nice working area next to it. The location isn't so great if you're looking to be in the center of it all but was perfect after a long day exploring the other cities by train.

The hotel is more modern and tried to be trendy so it lacks the charm of old-world Europe, so that's something to be aware of if that's something you're looking for. Also, the shower was kind of small and uncomfortable.
