Premiere Classe Caen Nord - Mémorial

Once we managed to get in, it was OK. We had the last room on the left and it was small, but the beds were comfortable.

We had trouble finding the hotel (no GPS) so we were a bit later than expected. We had a problem getting in as the electronic gate would not work. We contacted the office who could not work the gate either so it was done in the office. The room was very small as it was at the end, and we had quite a lot of clothes (uniforms etc) One day later the shower door (which was already damaged) fell off. when we got back at night they had not repaired it and offered us another room , but we declined as it was very late. Next day there was no Wifi. It was restored the next night.

This is one of the newer Première Classe hotels and quite smart with quiet simple rooms. Better than I expected :⁠-⁠) I arrived very late and appreciated the friendly face on reception. The automatic check-in is easy enough but beware of being asked if you want to pay for breakfast when it is already included. Breakfast was great, the WiFi worked, would definitely stay again. I didn't go out in the evening so I can't comment on any nearby restaurants.

I remain confused about the car park gate code :⁠-⁠( The WiFi is not secure in these hotels even though you go through a login process.

It was perfectly functional for what we were looking for, a base for exploring the D-Day landings. Location was a bit off the beaten track for heading into Caen for the evening.

The air conditioning was not adequate, the lowest it could be adjusted to was 22 degrees, as the temp was in the mid to high 20s it server no purpose. I asked a staff member if it could be adjusted and was told it was not possible to adjust. We slept 3 nights with the window wide to try to cool the room but to no avail

Plenty of room for three of us with a king size bed and a bunk above for our son and an en suite shower room. It was clean, tidy and comfortable and reasonably priced. Towels provided, individually wrapped plastic cups too so we could make ourselves a drink. A great stopover on our journey to/from the South West of France. We were very late checking in, so the gate was closed, but the check-in process via the electronic machine at the gate was easy, it gave us a code to open the gate and even issued our room key card. Checkout is 11am so great if you need a lie-in. All you can eat buffet breakfast for €5 is excellent value.

The beds weren't made very well - sheet and duvet cover all tucked in together, so I had to remake the bed. However, I appreciate that this is a budget hotel and turnaround time is probably limited due to late check outs.

Comfortable and as described in the advertisement. Access was easy and check-in was rapid. The information given by the staff was helpful and they resolved a small issue very quickly and professionally.

The shower head was not on securely. But this did not detract from the great power and heat control of the system. Customers should be reminded to keep the car park gate code with them when leaving early as we left ours at the desk.

Position. Clean. clients mostly tourists with families. Dogs allowed.

Breakfast could've been better. They advertised non-stop buffet but a buffet is NOT just bread, a cheap pastry, jam and butter jam, and cereal. There must be a selection of cold meats, eggs, cheeses etc. So it wasn't worth the price we paid, and certainly wasn't a BUFFET. As usual a reluctance by staff to speak any language apart from French.

A very well equiped room - enough power plugs, great AC - important in a hot day, at a walking distance to city center. Bathroom is also nice with a nice shower. Good value for money!

Parking in the garage is quite a driving test when you have a bigger car :). But... that's the situation in France... therefore maybe the solution is to rent a smaller car :). Finally it went fine, no issues and decent price.

We stayed in the premier class Hotel in Caen for only one night as we were traveling through Normandie. The place was very practical as it was located near the road and not to far (9 minutes) from the city center by car. The rooms are ok and with space and a private bathroom. I stayed in many Premier Class before and this is by far the cleanest I have ever seen ! The crew was very nice. I recommend for short stay on the road.

The single bed are a little small and much light get in early in morning.

the automatic machine near the gate is terrible. The notice said it wasn’t working but the gate was locked. We found that the screen did function correctly but the code we then received to open the gate and front door of the hotel had a letter A after the number which was not on the touch pad. Eventually we got in and from then on all ok. The upper corridor was thick with cigarette smoke despite warning notices everywhere!

Good base to explore the city with secure parking and friendly, helpful staff. The rooms are basic but clean with decent size en-suite shower room. Walking distance from a large supermarket and restaurants.

The breakfast was a bit disappointing - a little over priced for the selection on offer. The coffee vending machine in the lobby didn’t work.
