Inspiration by balladins Caen Mémorial

Lovely receptionists, quick booking in, complimentary tea and coffee at all times from the restaurant, clean comfy room. Dining room nice, and we had breakfast which was nice, mainly continental as we would expect, but also boil your own eggs, bacon, scrambled egg and sausages.

This is hard, as it was lovely, but had to hunt for the remote, which I found under the bed, eventually! Also, the loo is separate to the shower room, but little space. How shall I put this delicately? As a 6 footer, and from a sitting position, I had to have the door open so I could lean forward bent over enough to reach where I needed to reach. How was that?

Very convenient but road name not listed in my Sat nav it’s in a trading estate just off the ring road near the memorial - very quiet. A huge secure car park. An excellent bar with lovely staff who reappeared fresh after serving late drinks to serve very early breakfasts. all staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are simple well appointed and spotless. Good quality bed linen and fittings excellent WiFi signal and tv with radio feature and English news channels. A very comfortable huge bed 😎

it’s a bit hard to find in the dark. Google earth it before you leave and aim for the green neon lit Ibis - it’s just past that diagonally opposite.

We arrived late as the Ferry was late docking but as usual the Hotel was happy to welcome us. A really nice touch was a welcome on your return tray left in our room which was very nice along with a letter welcoming us back after not being able to visit during Covid. The staff on duty were very helpful and pleasant. Looking forward to out return stay when we book in for our return to the Uk in June

Breakfast was a little less enjoyable this visit maybe because of restrictions caused by covid but some of the options were either not available or empty. Still had enough but choice was more limited than usual.

Very friendly welcome and no problem turning up around 23.00. Easy parking in large hotel car park. Quiet neighbourhood. Very big room with air con which was great because very warm night. Lovely bathroom with walk in shower. Separate toilet. Good system where you can get free coffee or hot chocolate from a machine downstairs. Tea bags also available and a kettle in the room. Pet friendly hotel. Open land for exercise just across the road. Very good value for money. About 20 mins drive from Ferry; close to Caen Memorial. Quiet setting.

Arrived at 11.00pm after a stressful journey due to ferry cancelation. Night staff could not have been more helpful, checked us in quickly and we dumped our gear in a spacious room with a huge bed before going down to the bar for some late night drinks. Despite the hotel being full the breakfast was copious and varied.

Don't like all in one bathrooms where the shower, no matter how you try soaks the whole floor.

We booked this hotel due to its proximity to Caen Memorial and we have been very pleased. The staff was very friendly and was always there to help. The hotel served very good breakfast and there was free coffee around the clock. Parking lot was in front and very convenient. The beds were very comfortable too.

We did pick this hotel for its proximity to Caen Memorial which worked out very well but if you are not driving, it may not be easy to get around as the hotel is outside of Caen city center.

The staff were fabulous. Efficient, friendly, helpful, kind. The location is on the peripheral road around Caen. It was a perfect location for us: near Caen Memorial Museum, Caen D-Day Wings Museum and Stade Malherbe for a soccer match. There is plenty of safe parking, the breakfast was very nice: good coffee, juice, pastries and plenty of other buffet items. Our suite was very large with comfortable beds and good air conditioning.

There were no dining options nearby.

Staff was friendly and helpful Room was spacious (family room) The coffee/tea machine was accessible the whole day/night! Very nice and appreciated! Check-out: smooth and friendly! :-)

Breakfast was crowded and some items were out already. The location is fine if you only need a sleep-over. It is remote from the center, so you do need to have your car. But this is something for sure you check before you book ;-) But for the rest, a good stay and be gladly back!

Easily accessible from the peripherique. Good air conditioning. Very clean. Comfy bed. Excellent on site parking.

The in room kettle switch was broken and didn't stay switched on. Could have asked at reception for a other one but used our own travel kettle instead. Raised edge in to bathroom, tripped over it on more than one occasion.

One of our rooms was a larger one with a huge bed and sofa bed. It also had a table and chairs and felt really spacious. Beds comfortable, AC good. Excellent location next to a Super U. We had an issue with the original room and the staff were instantly helpful, responsive and immediately gave us a new room. Staff were lovely.
