Hôtel Life Bordeaux Gare - BG0

The hotel is in a great location, near the main train station and with a tram stop just a few metres away. The hotel is modern and very well equipped, both in the bedrooms and in the public areas. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent and much better than might be expected in a two star hotel.

As we knew in advance, the bedrooms are small. One side of our double bed had inadequate access. The price for our stay was high but this was because of demand created by the Rugby World Cup matches in the city at the time of our visit. We appreciate that these prices are not typical.

The hotel looked really nice and modern and was probably recently refurbished. The room was quite small but we didn't need more for our short trip plus the space is used quite efficiently. The location is pretty good too, only about a 30 minute walk along the river to the city centre (or you can rent a bike or scooter). Overall, we had a short but very good stay here.

The only thing that could have been better was the noise coming from the street. If you have a room that is facing the tram stop I would recommend bringing some ear plugs as the windows didn't seem to stop much of the noise from outside.

The hotel is very close to the train station, even with luggage it’s very comfortable. Also it was a tram station just in front of the hotel but I used to walk every day, it’s about 20 -25 minutes walk from the main attractions. There are several nice restaurants are located very close to the hotel and 2 big supermarkets. The hotel is very modern, the breakfast is great with a lot of choices of cheese and meat and fruits and fresh juices. The room was extremely small but everything is there and i didn’t spend much time in the room, it was ok. In the lobby it’s an area where you can seat also. The staff is nice and friendly, thank you so much!

Great continental breakfast spread: croissants; cheeses; hams; fresh bread; fruits & cereals, also an egg boiling machine (5 mins works out about right!). Lovely overhead shower, good heating, TV in room with a variety of channels. Staff were welcoming. Little bar/shop in reception for snacks/drinks. Good availability of both sockets & usb power by the bed. Tram stop into town is just outside the hotel, takes about 10mins to get to city centre by the river.

Room is a little compact, have to launch yourself across the bed as you can't get in from both sides. Would have been nice to have a hand towel as well as the larger towel.

Nice modern room. Comfy, reflected the price you pay. Really close to the main train station (about a 5-10 min walk.) which is why I picked it.

A lot of street noise. Shower was right next to the bed, not in an enclosed room, (had frosted glass walls to it obviously!) but you would be able to see the person showering! So you would have to be really close friends or a couple who were happy watching/being watched! 😉 the room was quite small too. Perfect if you are staying by yourself like I was, would still stay again if travelling alone.

Location near the train station St Jean was perfect. Close to restaurants, the Tram line, shopping, etc. I loved the staff; Johanna was absolutely lovely and couldn't have been more helpful to us! The hotel agreed to hang onto our bicycle bags (which we'd used to transport our bikes on our flights) for the two weeks we were gone! They charged us a nominal fee (€10) but had them ready when we returned to stay, pack, and fly home! Breakfast was lovely!

Rooms were a tad small on our second stay (we stayed one night at beginning of our trip and three nights at end of our bicycle trip.

With just a few minutes walk the location is extremely convenient for travelling by train. Another quarter of an hours walk takes you to the Garonne. The speedy reception was ok. The room was small but enough, with a wash basin in the room. Shower quite ok, but not much more. Loo separate. Breakfast was comparatively good and varied. If passing by once more and arriving fairly late I might consider staying here again.

The room was a bit too narrow. I found it rather difficult to get around the bed to the window. The sound of the trams starting and halting in the street outside was definitely annoying to me being a very light sleeper. I asked for change of room but as the hotel was fully booked it wasn't possible. I'm an old guy so younger and less sensitive folks might not bother at all.

The location was excellent 4 minutes walk to the train station. Tram to the old town outside the door but was easily walkable. The reviews said the breakfast was excellent actually it was one of the the best breakfasts I have ever had in a hotel and I have been to Gleneagles. Do not miss it. It is superb . ALL the staff were absolutely lovely and so helpful. Abig thankyou.

I wish I had booked more than 1 night I booked an apartment in the old town for 2 nights at double the price. Had I known the hotel was so accessible to the old town and so beautiful I would have been staying there my entire trip.

Very well arranged and designed room even thought it was super tiny. Very comfy bed. Super lovely and friendly staff! Breakfast was fine, We were happy to have a vegan option. It was very well suited for one night stay, arriving and departing from Bordeaux train station. We appreciated leaving our luggage there while sightseeing before catching our train. Really well located hotel.

The room could loose the small table or have a foldable one attached to the wall. The shower was smelly. The juicer machine at breakfast wasn’t practical at all.

Room was small but comfortable. Shower and toilet was clean. Lights were good. Housekeeper was really friendly and nice, even offered us extra sheets. Reception was friendly and accommodating. Our train was at 5pm on checkout day, and they kept our luggage safe until then while we walked around the city. We even messaged them at 12AM and they replied quick, despite the time. ALSO THERE IS A TRAM STATION RIGHT OUTSIDE THE HOTEL which was amazing and saved so much time for us. All was good.

Had a towel on the shower floor when we checked into the room, but a quick call for the housekeeping and things were settled and great. Lacked toiletries (there was only 1 bottle of shampoo/shower gel?) but we brought our own so that was fine.
