Movenpick Resort & Spa El Gouna

The breakfast and dinner buffets were incredible. We literally never ate a single thing we didn't like. The lagoons and beaches were sooooo welcoming and amazing. There were plenty of chairs and umbrellas on the beach. There were multiple pools so no matter where you stayed on the property, you were near a body of water. I also appreciated the cleanliness, size, and comfort of the room. And having a safe in-room was very useful. The nightly shows were great, upbeat, and interactive. They also have a perfectly located kids playground right by it, so adults and kids alike can enjoy their night.

I wish things on the resort weren't so damn expensive. And why are soft drinks, coffee and tea not included in our half board inclusive option??? It cost me 50LE for a large bottle of water during the night show. A small scoop of ice cream was 45LE. So was a can of soda (which costs 6LE at a grocery store down town). I also didn't like how irregular the golf cart was during the busy time (like dinner). We had elderly people in our group staying in cluster 7 (a 10 min walk to the buffet) and one night they had to wait 15 mins just for it to arrive.

everything in this hotel is splendid, beach, view, location, food taste and variety, quiet, landscape ................ staff at restaurant especially Mr. Michel and Miss Zeinab were very polite and very professional. we hope (me and my wife) to repeat this accommodation again and meet the same persons (in Challa), but I recommend the hotel management to be care with the night parties and shows also the reception staff need more experience.

Some of the restaurant waiters staff &, receptionist are discriminating between Egyptians and non Egyptians ! Which is not acceptable in 5 stars hotel like this which is relatively having high prices vs other hotels in hurghada. I have travelled lots of world countries and usually local people having more respect and priority vs foreigners except in some places in Egypt and unfortunately this case is very clear example of that

The thing that I liked the most was the room with the unique configuration of the bed. The view from the room was exceptional. The bathroom was the largest I have seen in a regular hotel room with a dressing room inside. Location was great. Landscape and lagoons were perfect. I have to salute the bakery chef who made the most delicious cinnamon roles, it was the only good thing to eat in the lame breakfast.

Just the main restaurant staff were not so welcoming, food also was not that great but generally good.

Staff at the property made our stay beautiful! Everything was fantastic and clean. Service was exceptional. Food at the buffet was super tasty with tons of variety! Hisham at the reception was super friendly and made everything easy for us! He helped us find everything we need and helped us have an amazing stay. He really went above and beyond to make sure everything was exceptional. 100% would recommend for families, couples or even just group of friends. What a beautiful property and you are lucky to have this staff making the guest feeling welcomed every second of the stay.

There’s nothing i didnt like. Our stay was perfect.

Almost everything is good. The reception is very helpful. The family room is spacious and clean. The food is very good. Free Wi-Fi everywhere, Swimming pools are very nice and clean. Animation is also nice. Elevators nears the reception/main restaurant. Good insects control, despite the heat and plants, one hardly sees any insects.

The beach/lagoons are rocky. The pillows were bigger/heavier than usual, but there is a pair of spare (normal size) pillows in the closet - suitable for my size.

The room was great and very spacious and the bed is super comfortable with great pillows. Great balcony with a nice view. Calm in general especially close to the room/ our area. The food was of great quality (we only tried the buffet) as we were there 2 nights only and we had supper at one of the restaurants at the El Gouna Marina. We strongly recommended this outing! The included breakfast buffet was also of great quality.

The lounge chairs are very outdated and should be changed. Also the umbrellas are in a fix position into a concrete block, which makes it very annoying to always have to move the heavy chairs and the very heavy privacy walls around as day passes. The rooms have to be a bit touched up/modernised, at least the wooden parts that have lost their lacquer/got scratched with time.

The rooms are great: big beds which pleased my 6ft/2m partner along with hairdryer, daily water, ample toiletries, robes/slippers and stocked fridge. Access to the diving centre (transfer to Sheraton marina - 15mins by bus) and kite school are on site. If you're looking for a quieter holiday, aim for a room in 6/7/8 block which is away from the main pool/reception area. The complex is easily accessible with ramps & lifts to the rooms plus the staff can provide their buggy to get you around if required. Downtown El Gouna is accessed by a TukTuk system which is fun, cheap and felt safe (25EGP). Alas, El Gouna lacks Egyptian authenticity but you will find bar/restaurant to suit most tastes. You will also find a supermarket here which is very good. The Movenpick is just one of the hotels on the complex - don't miss the opportunity to eat at some of the other hotels. We didn't find this out for some days of our arrival. If you're bored of buffet style, we can highly recommend the seafood restaurant on site - especially following all their efforts to provide a romantic dinner setting on the beach for my birthday. The service, food, atmosphere and music set up under the moonlight was a fabulous way to spend my birthday (Thank you team for all your work to make this happen!!). Guest services were very helpful and also the excursion staff. We booked an evening in Hurghada to include the museum/taxi/dinner at the marina. This was not on offer but they arranged everything at a very reasonable price using local people, which is very important when staying at a big chain hotel.

The map of the complex and signage could be improved to enable guests to navigate better. Information of the options for breakfast could be communicated better.

I like everything in this property. People in the reception desk are very helpful especially Hesham who made his best to make our stay comfortable in a very genuine and professional way. Rooms are well decorated with a unique lighting system. The food was tasty and the main restaurant area is outstanding it makes you feel like you have traveled far away. Restaurants managers was very welcoming especially Mohammad and Yasser. Swimming in this property was unforgettable especially in the lagoon area. I highly recommend it and definitely coming back.
