Sun City Hotel - The Gabriel

The room size and bathroom and bedding and room accessories are all very nice.

it’s in a strange sort of mall, for all it’s close to the airport the car transfer to and from the hotel are just as expensive as going anywhere in Cairo which seemed weird. May as well stay anywhere else. It’s in a slightly undeveloped area that seemed a tad sketchy as a woman traveling alone. My driver seemed unfamiliar with it and in a hurry to leave, and gave me an odd look which made me wonder if it was a hotel with a bad reputation (for lack of a better way of putting it). The staff were friendly but seemed almost like kids playing hotel, and didn’t seem to know what they were doing.

Very nice room, large comfy bed. Nice bath and shower.

The food was awful.

I just needed a place for an overnight stay between two flights, so, was looking for a place, which is near the airport and not that expensive. The hotel locates in the Suncity mall, the entrance is just next to one of the mall's entrances, no clear signs that the hotel is there, but the taxi driver knew the place. Its very nice inside, the room and bed is fine (during my previous transit I stayed in Baron, so that was awful), bathroom is made with black and white tales, looks pretty chic, but everything is clean and new. Breakfast is served, so you need to wait few minutes while it's cooked, but is very fool with variety of breads, croissants, cheese, eggs, etc. If price could be as it was initially indicated, it would be ideal, with the almost 40%increase at the moment of payment seems a bit overpriced.

While making a choice I saw one price, by the moment of payment, it was almost double. I understand all the Egyptian marketing, but its not really fair.

We booked ourself into The Gabriel to have get some rest before our flights out from Cairo during the night - the hotel is just a 15 min taxi ride from Cairo airport. Super impressed with the hotel facilities in general. Everything was impeccably clean and well taken care of, from the lobby to room. The hotel staff were really lovely, very kind and helpful. The room itself was very big, and had the most comfortable bed. Free water, coffee and tea provided. Similarly, a huge bathroom with care for details (slippers, beauty articles and great toiletries). The room was very well isolated against any noise. The restaurant offers some great food, and alternatively there's a Carrefour in the mall in which the hotel is situated. Value for money paid is excellent!

Only things to point out here is that the internet worked so so, and in spite of the AC being off, the room was quite cold.

Very convenient location for airport. Only cost around £2 in an Uber at 6am in the morning so absolutely no need for shuttle run at £20. The place was clean, food was good, check in was easy and quick, the staff were polite, rooms have everything you need. The hotel is literally integrated into a shopping mall which provides entertainment at a stones throw distance. This includes about 5 floors of shops, a cinema, bowling alley and a little ice rink. Very nice place overall.

Can’t really say these things as a negative but here’s some honest feedback. It’s not 5 star like advertised, it’s basically a holiday inn with much nicer decorations and amazing value for money. The roof has a pool with bar and great entertainment space which was closed due to it being both cold and Ramadan, but it’s nothing to complain about because you can’t exactly ‘change the weather’.

The beds are very comfortable.

This is NOT a 5-star hotel. Their was no wifi, the food is really bad, the air conditioning doesn't work properly and there is an overall grimy feel to it. The staff is really trying, but doesn't appear to have a lot to work with. The place needs training and a makeover. They should not advertise as a 5-star, it's more like a 3-star trying to be a 4-star.

The room was large and comfortable. I loved the large bathroom! The window in the room even opened! The decor of the room and hotel in general was lovely. The staff were all super friendly, and check in/check out was super simple. The restaurant was closed due to a wedding the night we were there, but room service was delightful. The location was ideal, as we had an early morning flight to catch, and the airport wasn’t far away. I would definitely stay here again next time I’m in Cairo for a visit

The pool was great , the room was very comfy and clean , the decoration was fancy , the staff was very helpful specially salama at the reception as i had a problem with my booking rate and he tried to help me to solve it

Wifi isn't working , food wasn't as i expected and i had a serious problem in my booking rate on booking.com when i delayed my reservation only one day they charged me with about 40$ over my original rate then i called customer service and they modified my rate again with a good price but they excluded breakfast without notifying me and i discovered that when i arrived at the hotel so i tried to contact customer service number again but i couldn't reach them at all so i texted them on the application and they finally solved my problem after about 8 to 9 hours by returning my original rate including breakfast

expensive value for money .. will do much better for cheaper rate to accommodate travelers in one night basis

The place is good. It's not super clean, but it's clean

I asked for a ride from the airport, which is retelrly a 5 minutes away for the hotel they said is going to cost 20$ I agree not knowing what is the prices over there they pick me up with a vehicle that 20 years old no ac, seat are ripped very dirty and we sit all 4 of us in the back later I find out that the ride to the airport cost 5$
