The Flying Steamshovel Inn

Loved the apartment style room. Free parking very close and convenient. Close proximity to ski slope. Lovely town. Great restaurant in the hotel.

No breakfast was offered. Although on the booking.com website it states there is a free continental breakfast. We were kept awake 2 out of 3 nights due to late night revellers shouting both outside and inside the hotel. The first night the noise was coming from the hotel and went on til around 3.30am. The second night, the noise was on the street and woke us around 2am.

We really like the location and the restaurant/pub below. We were there on a Sunday, so there was no live music. I’m not sure how well it would have worked for us if there was live music….

There was no interaction with any staff other than through text. It felt more like a AirBnB than a motel, but that wouldn’t keep me from coming back. One complaint was the AC was very noisy, like it needed a repair - it rattled a lot

is a bit noisy at night with the restaurant below. the owners did a pretty good job soundproofing but, you can hear some noise. if you are sensitive to noise and are an early sleeper, bring earplugs or a white noise machine.

Breakfast?? There was coffee... which was fine. The restaurant downstairs was not open in the morning. The space was large, comfortable and clean. It looked newly renovated, and nicely done. The heat worked perfectly and was not overly noisy.

The water in the small sink on the counter was ice cold. No hot. But the shower worked and it was hot. The newly renovated bed frame was lovely, and it was attached to the simple framed bedside table, but... the table blocked the power outlet so you could not plug in the lovely bedside lamp, or have my phone there. Someone needs to fix that.

Perfect location within walking distance to restaurants, etc. it was quaint and nicely updated.

While there was no live band, we could hear music from the pub, so I can imagine the noise could be a problem. They shut it down early, which worked for us! (Also, we usually opt for pet-friendly places and this one is not.(

Awesome mountain vibe in the rooms with a great restaurant below! Excellent location to everything around Rosseland. Ride right from the hotel to the trails!

The service in the pub was great, the beer was ice cold and the food was delicious. Fair warning though, if you order the jerk chicken burrito or tacos be prepared to sweat. They are HOT! Delicious but burn your face hot!

Restaurant is very good. Service was to notch. Food was delicious. I had mostly pup food but the presentation was good and the value was good.

Weird with no front desk. There was no coffee in the room but we called the 1800 number and someone brought some in about 20 min.

It was cozy and the triple room was so nice my son, niece & nephew had so much fun with it. The staff were all friendly even while training some at the time. Which may have explained the things I mention in the dislike portion. Air conditioning was top notch ! Kept cool in the 40c+ weather out there. Very pretty I took pictures of the rug and the cute little blanket at the bottom of the bed. Also I don't know if it's been a long time since I've went to a hotel so I'm not sure if this is common or not. But the fact Netflix was available made finding something to watch so easy.

In one of our rooms coffee was forgotten one night but she had tea, which would have been nice in our room. So if both were to be added to each room would be good. When we first got there the code to our door didn't work. But they fixed it that night. Also! Labels for the shower would be great. There's those cool wall attachment but it's hard to tell which is shampoo and the body wash. I may or may not have put body wash in my hair. There was a mix up in the email as well about check out time. So make sure you clarify which it is.

Contactless check in was a nice touch, especially after a long drive we could just head straight to the room. The room was extremely clean, great decor, and had everything we needed. The pub was also great, awesome food and great service.

The only thing that we didn't like was the lack of water pressure in the shower.

Really well done space and good value compared to other choices.

No one to receive us when we arrived. I do t check my email and had no idea I had to do that to get access. Our arrival was a bit confusing. I called 4 times, left 2 messages and no one replied. The bar letting out at 12:30am was VERY rowdy for 15 minutes.
