Wonil Hotel Perth - Handwritten Collection

Wonil faces the Swan River, and is an excellent location for my daily walks. The room is clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast which came with my room selection were delicious. The lobby and restaurant after breakfast were generally quiet and makes a good place to work as well.

As I exercise regularly (like many Australians), I would appreciate there's some structure to hang my sports wear to dry at the balcony. The air conditioner is also a little tricky to turn on, but the reception will provide instructions to operate it. There's assigned parking lot but almost every night, my parking lot was taken up by another car, which we end up parking in another lot and had to inform the reception.

Been staying at this hotel couple of times this year each time I visit my daughter. Just across UWA, super easy to get across to the hostels. Served by CAT bus on purple line, though you would need to walk to the nearest stop which is about 3 to 4 minutes away (UWA Guild House). The restaurant though has limited menu, but the quality of food has been consistently good.

Not much facilities - my husband has to use the gym at UWA, which is quite a walk. The hotel is owned by the university, hence, no guesses for trimming costs. There’s no self-service laundry service, so it can be a hassle to drive out to Broadway to the Laundrobar.

Loved the quality of the furnishings and fittings, the fact that we had a microwave and full set of crockery and cutlery. Loved the balcony that overlooked the river and outlook from the rooms , and the way you could walk and have a swim at Matilda Bay.

Annoying that the TV did not seem to connect to the wifi - tried every day Breakfast was included with our rate, but you could only have 1 drink and one main, and a second drink ( like a juice or a coffee) attracted an additional charge, as did any additional side you chose with your meal, or even a muffin. I found this very annoying and it changed the experience for me.

It's a new property and therefore is very clean. The room is big and amenities are excellent. The toiletries are tastefully selected and are really excellent. Breakfast was provided earlier to us on our request as we were scheduled for an appointment. The staff have shown exceptional care towards guests, specially Ashra who was really nice and helpful. I would reckon the staff members are the real strength of this hotel.

Very limited parking spaces , definitely not enough considering the available number of rooms at this property. It's ironic for a guest to unable to find a parking place despite ready to pay for it. It's bad that a guest will know about it only after paying the booking amount on booking.com. it needs to be looked into by the property and booking.com both.

Riverside location and very modern facilities. On-site parking and good for main travel routes.

My room wasn't changed over for a whole day which meant no water or milk refill and wet towels. The room had been vacant a number of times during the day but the DO NOT DISTURB sign didn't have a PLEASE MAKE UP MY ROOM on the reverse, like at most other hotels. When I went out that afternoon to a wedding I told the front desk and when I returned from my event, dry towels had been dropped off but the wet ones not taken nor any new milk, water or coffee pods.

My personal request was respected and acted upon, and as soon as I walked in the building I was treated as if I were a regular customer. The views are beautiful, the rooms are sleek, very nicely designed and had all my visitors in awe. The location is great, with plenty of interesting people locally as well as loads of local shops towards the UWA/residential area. Watching swans float past on the water was great. I've never had such a satisfying stay in a hotel. Complementary robes is a very nice touch! Decent TV channel access, efficient and well placed lighting, plenty of power sockets and storage. In the photos instead of a lobby picture, I have supplied a photo of their room kitchenette.

Very little. I do wish that my room had a kitchenette with a hotplate option and kitchen sink, had to get all my water and tip things out using the bathroom sink. This just would've made my room slightly more convenient but not by much. The surrounding area has more than enough dining-in and "microwave" options to satisfy all customers. The first time you walk in you're going to be a little confused, everyone made the "it's a maze!" comment but it's only on the first time.

There is a a nice view of the hotel. Our room was facing the Swan river where many sails on Sunday. We had very good sleeps over the three nights because it was quiet and the curtains were thick enough to block the morning sun.

We arrived the hotel at about 8pm and we were very tired and hungry already. However, the receptionist failed to give us the correct room key to enter our room. We had to go back and fourth to exchange. We stayed there for three nights but our bath towel was not changed as it was wet on the second day. it was uncomfortable to use a wet towel after bath.

Very new hotel, room is modern, with very nicely designed interior. Our room had balcony with partial view of the river. Bed and pillows were very comfy. Even provides Nespresso machine. Excellent VIP check in service provided by Adi, bringing us all the way to our room and showing us how everything works. Very near to UWA.

No free parking on-site, though there is free overnight parking at UWA just a short 5 mins walk away. No shops or food places nearby but we ordered pizza delivery from Broadway, and the staff was happy to inform us when it arrived. It was delicious.

Loved the room and hotel it is very well designed and very modern and aesthetically pleasing. Loved the view of Matilda bay and the location in regards to the City, UWA, Matilda Bay and Kings Park.

As I run my own accomodation business I have a couple of thoughts not really about things I didn't like but of just feedback. I love the hotels effort to be plastic free however having at least one bin with a bin liner is essential for sanitary products or items that you wouldn't want your cleaning staff to have to touch when cleaning the room. Bed was a little hard and could use a mattress topper especially when it is 2 put together it helps to make it feel more like one bed. Lots of hotels use this strategy. There was a used hand towel in the sink I think from the previous guests left there easy to miss but just thought I should let you know. Key cards didn't work to start with but staff were very quick and helpful to resolve this immediately for us.

Absolutely lovely hotel, beautiful lighting in the room and although simple... very stylish and thoughtful design. The bathroom was absolutely gorgeous, great shower and really nice toiletries included. Spotlessly clean, bed super comfy and great location too, very peaceful right next to Matilda Bay reserve and lovely view of the river from the balcony. I had to book last minute after messing up a booking somewhere else and it ended up being a blessing in disguise! Really good value for the quality. The staff were really lovely, overall great stay and I'm sure I'll be back!

Only negative comments is there was no room service (although they do have a small selection of ready prepared meals and snacks in reception 24/7 and easy to get uber eats) I also couldn't connect to the chromecast in my room but I didn't notify the staff so didn't actually give them a chance to sort it so technically not their fault!
